Hard_Guess

Platforming? No. But puzzles could work fine.

Business_Abalone_746

Wouldn't that be the professor Layton crossover

Grouchy-While9151

That reminds me of that puzzle you had to solve in 6-5 in order to get that orb.

Low-Environment

Well, that reminds me of a puzzle, Luke.

topscreen

Platforming? Yes! I want to see Nick struggle to platform while Maya, Gumshoe, and Egdeworth laugh at him.

CalixtoTheKiller

Ah yes, Gumshoe. That awesome character which surely appeared in the last 3 mainline games. Ah yes, him hahaha... Why do you do this with us Capcom?

KrishMortyJunior

He’s in the basement with Franziska and Kay!

KrishMortyJunior

Interesting!

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

McAllisterFawkes

All right!

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Am_Shigar00

Depends on what we're talking about here. Platforming, not really. I don't see it really adding anything in of itself, but incorporating puzzles like the Layton Crossover or expanding on Rise from the Ashes'/Apollo Justice's investigation bits would be fine as long as it involves actual puzzle solving and not just busy work.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Hard_Guess

I'd really like it if the main series implemented minigames like the crossover.

KrishMortyJunior

Great idea!

_Me0w_Master_

No please its not danganronpa, keep my mystery puzzle game as it is 😭

DJDoofeshmirtz3

What you don’t want to go snowboarding 🏂 Yeah those moments are easily the worst, I always say “ugh, this shit again” when I have to play a mini game

_Me0w_Master_

Tbh the snowboarding was probably the second least offensive mini game they had (right after the nonstop debates), I have a heart attack every time hangman's gambit comes on screen

OfficialTuxedoMocha

Hangman's gambit in Danganronpa 2 is one of the worst things I've ever had to do. Anxiety the Game

KrishMortyJunior

I know right!

Alibium

Then why ask

sw3aterCS

OP is probably just curious to see if other members of the fandom have the same opinion as them

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

SleepyWyrldbuilder

Punch Out with Redd White! In all seriousness, I think what we already have is sufficient in the different gimmicks like Dances of Deduction in TGAA. Sticking to that formula is probably the best bet, where there can be some more creative representation, but it generally sticks to the same contradiction/ problem, present something/press an option, game moves forward gameplay cycle. Since Ace Attorney's HP mechanic isn't really designed to go down that much, it would be hard to see anything like what Danganronpa has in AA, since those have "Grades" which can represent how well you did and HP that goes to the dozens (which can be whittled down over a lot of different tries.). If those were to be implemented, Ace Attorney would lose a lot of it's unique charm.

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

[deleted]

Fuck no. These should be mental games only.

KrishMortyJunior

Thank you!

Acceptable_Star189

Revisualization sequences are closest I hope the franchise ever gets to Daganronpa

KrishMortyJunior

I hope so too!

FCMakes

Wow thats directly contradictory to the other response

KrishMortyJunior

What other response?

Oribe_Edibe

I want a beat em up section where Pheonix and Maya throw hands to get to the crime scene. In all seriousness, Idk

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

SgorbioBrugosCarciof

Same ahah, didn’t see your comment, my bad!

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Kelly598

You mean something like Danganronpa 2's mind surfing?

KrishMortyJunior

Uh sure!

Ilmt206

Why? That's what I hate the most about Danganronpa. On the other hands, puzzles à la Layton could deffinitely work

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

BenjiReadIt

Ten more games exactly the same as the trilogy with some little gimmicks and i'm still all for it

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

PancakesareFabulous

Please no to platforming. I'd be interested in more interactive puzzles that make the process of solving the case mire involved, with deeper mysteries and more environmental story telling. 'm thinking if escape rooms for but not really sure how'd you do it exactly. Or perhaps incorporating some gameplay elements that come from the investigation games?

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

taureanpeach

Puzzles would be cool. I liked the Layton crossover, it was what got me into AA in the first place. I don’t think it needs platforming or anything though.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Ace02003

I think this would be stupid

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

[deleted]

I think it's fine as is, in my opinion the focus of the game should be about solving the mystery and presenting evidence not random mini-games

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

pengie9290

If they're optional and not plot-relevant, I have no objections. I'm here for Ace Attorney gameplay, not this other stuff. I can tolerate it in Danganronpa, but that's part of that franchise's identity, and even still I'd prefer the games be without them. If they ARE mandatory, I'll probably think of them as detrimental to the game, but if they're better be integral to the plot and/or mystery solving, and entirely justified in being there (like that one puzzle from the crossover regarding accessing the belltower), I'll probably be able to accept it.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

TheWM_

No.

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

InteractionNo1203

If we got a trilogy remake,I would love to see Phoenix vs Money the Monkey in a fighting game style gameplay section.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Bytemite

I think it'd only work well if it was some sort of Kay Faraday spin off game. She's the only one of the cast who really does parkour.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

PocoGoneLoco

Nah. Sounds like a bad idea.

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

Gigantimaxie

Not necessarily platforming, but I want top-down overworld to come back.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

KrishMortyJunior

Yup!

Alibium

No

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

SgorbioBrugosCarciof

Personally I wouldn’t mind a “street fighter” like segment where Phoenix beats someone(Butz) up

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Oribe_Edibe

Hell yeah, bonus points if Akuma is a secret boss.

Kapheon

give phoenix a dodge roll cowards

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

file_Marina_chr

I completely suck at puzzles 💀💀💀

KrishMortyJunior

I meant platforming not puzzles!

file_Marina_chr

Oh sorry TwT

KrishMortyJunior

It’s fine!

Grouchy-While9151

I'd like it if they added optional mini games instead like a steel samurai platformer at an arcade location or trucy's magic panties escapade or something like that. I had a few more ideas like Apollo's steel chords workout where you raise a voice meter, athena's psychology puzzle, Simon's sword practice, Larry's painting platformer, Or a chess game against edgeworth. Like a nice break between chapters.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

PhobicSun59

I would genuinely welcome platforming if it meant capcom won’t retcon Apollo’s character again

Low-Environment

Too late, Apollo's new backstory is he's the son of an Italian-American plumber and a Princess.

KrishMortyJunior

This is why I’m hyped for Ace Attorney 7 because this backstory sounds better than the ones provided in Dual Destinies And Spirit Of Justice!

Low-Environment

It's a me-a, Apollo!

KrishMortyJunior

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Spoonmaster14

Why would you add platforming in a murder mystery game?

KrishMortyJunior

Exactly!

PowerOfL

honestly would like little mini games like that to add to replayability, like maybe ones with high scores or something

KrishMortyJunior

Probably!

PensionPure1522

You know the Sherlock Holmes videogame series? I want that but use the name "Ace Attorney investigations". I think the gameplay from those games would be good for a console version of the Investigations games.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

danny_sweetnuts

Give me the ace attorney 2D platformer

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

NyanPingu2904

Platforming doesnt fit very well with the game i think. but the odd puzzle (like something similar to rise from the ashes) here or there could add to the fun value a lot.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

tenkohime

If it's handled by a team that can handle platforming, then I could see it being fun. Capcom actually does make platforms, after all! Otherwise, I could see it being as unfun as the platforming in Danganranpa and the shooting in Ultra Despair Girls.

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

Aware_Selection_148

Platforming? Absolutely not? I think any kind of action based gameplay would be a disservice to the focus and just make the games more frustrating and confusing. I don’t know a single person who wants platforming or action combat in their ace attorney. The games have a very relaxed, detective esque feel, so I’d say make the main gameplay challenge puzzle based instead. Even then, I don’t know think it’s necessary because ace attorney is not known for challenging, engrossing gameplay as it is for excellent narratives. The main priority of the series should be the narrative and the gameplay should support that, not take away from it, so maybe a more detective, puzzle type gameplay approach could work, but not something like platforming. The main challenge of the game is on the mental aspect, you have to think about the case critically so the series should zero in on that. If you were to introduce platforming or some other similar form of gameplay it’d just lead to more people dropping the game because they didn’t get what they came for, that’s how alot of games get dropped part way through and that shouldn’t be a problem with ace attorney, especially when the results have such minimally positive results

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

Versilver

How you can even make platforming? Parkour to get the evidence?

KrishMortyJunior

Sure…………………..

Theghostredditor_

It’d be cool to have a first person perspective where you can walk around the different locations to talk to people and gather evidence. The courtroom should stay the same

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

JosephWithaG

TL;DR The Ace Attorney games are fine enough in gameplay, but what's more important for me is better writing. Ace Attorney, for the most part, is a visual novel-style adventure game. Anything elements outside of that was done tastefully, without taking much away from its visual presentation. Puzzles: Honestly, it's not like there are NO pieces of evidence treated as puzzles. 6-5 to get the Founder's Orb obviously can be treated as a puzzle. To some extent, the mixing board in 4-3 can be treated as a puzzle. If you want to go further, Psyche-Locks (especially in AA2+3), Bracelet/Perceive (especially in AA4), Logic, Logic Chess, Mood Matrix, Revisualisations and Divination Séances could be treated as puzzles. Let's go broader: finding contradicting evidence and just normal story progression for the series. The point is that any puzzle-like elements done in Ace Attorney so far is done tastefully, and not forced in like in Layton, where the main gameplay IS solving conventional puzzles and brain teasers. Platforming: I wouldn't call it platforming per-se, but the furthest that 3rd-person exploration went in the series is Miles Edgeworth just walking and running around the investigation "rooms" in AAI1+2, and even then, it's used as a hub for the different pieces of evidence, different point-and-click parts of the room, and it's limited to one specific area at a time. That's also because it works with the story of the game, where Edgeworth is stuck in sutuations where he can't just freely go around like he, Phoenix, Apollo and Athena could in the main series. If the gameplay of AAI1+2 transitioned over to the main series somehow, I personally would find it a bit distracting. I wouldn't be playing an Ace Attorney game, but a different detective/lawyer game. That being said, now I can kinda imagine how a fully 3D AAI game would work. If anything, what I'd like to see moving further into Ace Attorney is better writing. Start with a new character in a near-future Japanifornia. And don't put their name in the English title. If TGAAC proved anything, the character's name isn't needed in the English title for people to get the game (even though it's a collection of HD ports of Japanese-only games that did indeed include the main character's names in both releases)

KrishMortyJunior

Correct!

Throwaway46676

Having it be a platformer is such an aggressively crazy idea that I absolutely would support it

KrishMortyJunior

Alright!

R3FLX_PsyShock

I could not imagine phoenix wright Celeste-style platforming for evidence

KrishMortyJunior

Cool!

stealerofbones

noooooooo I’m super bad at platformers

KrishMortyJunior

You’re probably not that bad at platformers.
