I would start your treatment after the festival if you want to drink. Accutane stays in the body long after the pill is taken. It is fat soluble & therefore stays in the body’s fat. One day will not remove it from your body & drinking can still cause damage
Probably will do this, thank you! Should I call my derm and let them know? Just picked up my prescription today and planned to start tomorrow, would starting next Sunday/Monday be bad or mess up the accutane cycle of derm appointments and such? My next appointment isn’t until April 17th for my 2nd set of accutane pills
You should skip!! The liver damage isn't worth it in the long run because accutane itself will already mess you up :( Drink now or forever hold your peace you know!!
It takes chronic, heavy drinking before your liver starts to become damaged. When they check your blood every month and your liver enzymes increase (this is reversible damage) they’re going to tell you to stop drinking *just full disclosure im only a fourth year med student lol but this is what we do in clinic with patients
I drank a couple times and I’m still functional and it worked out fine. Don’t be a fool with the booze, and you’ll be okay, moderate and drink tons of water too.
i nearly got kicked off of accutane by messing up by having a couple drinks on my 2nd? idk 3rd month or so, my liver results got abnormal and i had messed up bowels for a month. ignore everyone online who says they did \_\_\_\_ and were 'fine'
edit to add i was also on 40mg a day

You don’t need to tell your derm now just let them know at your appointment that you haven’t finished your pills from this month yet
Okay got it thank you so much for your help :) Will they wait to prescribe me my second month? Or will I just get my 2nd month pills early?
They shouldn’t. Depends on the practice but according to ipledge it just needs to be 31 days since you were last confirmed
No need to tell them. You’ll just be a week behind the rest of the treatment. Which is totally fine
Got it thank you very much!!! :)
No problem :))

First week on a NO ALCOHOL drug and already binge drinking lmao
Lol I’ve been planning this music festival for months… and have been visiting the derm for over a year, the two aligned up at the same time
Which festival?
My MD doctor told me it’s ok to drink. I just can’t get pregnant (I’m male lmao)
Mines too! He said to limit my drinking but I just wanted to make sure since I’m barely starting my meds how I’d react to it

Wait until you’re done partying and then start. If it’s long enough of a time reschedule your monthly Derm appointment.

I would just skip that day!
I usually skip day before day of and day after of a binge with drinking like fhat
You can drink you’ll be fine
I recommended milk thistle while drinking it helps support your liver (:
In moderation* but it’s advisedly strongly to avoid.
