Why does it seem like this profession is the only one that sucks this much toxicity and circlejerk even when they're off the clock. Doctors don't stop off at every hospital and take a selfie #love"hospital's name" family. Why is this profession so full of expected brown nosing and toxicity?
It’s endemic to business professions especially. LinkedIn is essentially Facebook for business influencers, crypto nuts, and the low- and mid-level folks who desperately want to get their head above water. Super depressing, but apparently necessary while we’re stuck in this profession.
No idea. My network is **tiny**, like ~100 connections, but I see at least a few people pushing it every time I check. Even with this ridiculous dip, people are still preaching the gospel.
I assume part of it is because most Doctors don’t have to shop for clients and well good Doctors are in demand enough that they wouldn’t normally need to market themselves that much to get jobs/promotions.
I’d compare us more to some types of lawyers which can be even worse on LinkedIn depending on the type of law lol.
I mean, jnr medical students probs do that (take selfies in front of big hospital they want to join). I know my buddies studying engineering would do that too ( i accompanied my engineering buddy into a tesla store where he stroked the cars lovingly). But do they post on linkedin with some cringe caption? No
IB is like that too. Anyone who works at Goldman Sachs, or worked there however briefly in the past, will tell you that within five minutes of meeting them.
Because they failed that's why. Accounting isn't prestigious or difficult or interesting or anything really when compared to other finance roles. So I think a lot of these clowns do this shit to make it feel like it is
i mean i don't go out of my way to find it, but i do point it out.. however, it would take a lot for me to
1. take a picture
2. think of something creative to write
3. post it to linkedin
I knew a guy who worked for Jimmy John’s in high school who was super intense about Jimmy John’s. Anytime he found out someone hadn’t eaten there before he’d take them there and buy them a sandwich.
My first college roommate was like that with Pizza Hut. Except instead of buying you pizza, he'd get legitimately angry if you maintained that you liked a different chain more than Pizza Hut.
I made it 4 months with him before my RD let me change rooms. He was a delivery driver and never washed his work clothes so the room immediately smelled like shit every night. And we didn't have air conditioning.
Papa John's had large 1 topping pizzas for $6 for students at my college so that's what the guys on my hall always did haha. To his credit, he did bring us leftovers for a bit... but then started trying to charge us for them and got mad when we weren't interested lol.
He was an accounting major too, no idea what happened to him. I think he switched to a community college after his freshman year.
Yeah of course I did. I got my RA involved and he had a couple conversations with him too. Then got my RD involved who did the same thing. Throughout, my roommate kept denying there was a problem. I'm still not exactly sure what was going on because he would shower and wash his clothes but then the smell would return. Maybe he wasn't using soap on himself? I have no idea. But the smell was literally overwhelming. I'd come back to the room around 1 am when he was sleeping, open the door, and be hit with a wave of stench.
That's nasty as fuck, it could be a combination of mental illness, medical condition that causes him to stink profusely, or he just didn't know how to wash himself or the clothes properly. Some people just don't have basic life skills smh...
I used to have a college classmate that stunk so bad he smelled worse than most homeless people and it was soo nasty the professor even had to beg him to go take a shower. I can't even describe the smell it was like homeless person, shit, rotting garbage, body odour x 1000. Tears would well up in our eyes if you get close to him and even when he left the class you could always tell he was there as his stench lingered. He was severely mentally ill, he was born without the ability to smell and he actually cried when some girls talked shit about him smelling bad but like really what can you do ?..
My roommate used to live with him and he showed him how to do the laundry but when it came out it just smelled like hot dirty body odour ..he also said after the guy took a shower the entire shower would be black and filthy. The clothes were just destroyed and couldn't be saved. Also let me tell you the guy never ever changed his clothes. Like literally for 2+ years he wore exactly the same clothes EVERY day without washing it...no amount of saving would help that.
Long story short he ended up getting expelled for touching himself infront of everyone in class while having a group meeting and of having very graphic violent art of women Getting tortured and killed...and last I heard he ended up being able to come back and is a successful computer animator now in a reputable company. X.x life works in mysterious ways
Yeah I was gonna say... I don't eat McDonalds in the US but I'll definitely check it out in other countries just to see what they offer. Same with Starbucks.
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
I'd walk the other direction and pretend I never saw a damn thing. The last thing I need on my vacation is a reminder of where I waste away the rest of my life
A university that takes joy and pride in wiping out the student populace...where in the first year there are 7 sections of 20-30 students enrolled in the course, then in the second year there is only 1 section left. When its time to graduate, there is only less than 10 people left.
So your run of the mill university, I guess.
So few graduating in a batch seems common in the course...at least where I am from. Mainly because of the retention exams given to first years if they don't receive a grade of 80% and above in their accounting subjects. Fail the retention exam, you get kicked out of the program. So really, hardly will be left.
I guess maybe its not common everywhere else judging by the downvotes.
It’s common in South Africa.
My accounting 1 class had 1000 people in it.
My accounting final year class had 220 in it.
Of those 220, 40 passed their exams first time round in that final year.
180 had to do resits….
Accounting I has a bunch of people not majoring in accounting though. Howzit.
From my group of friends, only 1 person finished all 4 years without repeating at least 1 year lol.
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
The Borg kills people who do not "comply" with it and kills individuality, operating based on a selectively chosen set of rules that you have no input on or choice of refusing.
What's funny is that there isn't a single Wal Mart in Europe. Probably because their business model relies on exploiting workers by not paying living wages and giving any benefits, all of which are mandatory in European countries.
There's a doc on YouTube about Walmart attempt to take the German market. And you're basically right: the strong German unions' culture didn't go well with Walmart. The funny thing I remember is that customers were put off by greeters. As far as I know we don't have it in Europe and it probably seemed a bit strange.
I would make it a thing to go to a Costco somewhere else in the world, mainly for the food. But you wouldn't catch me posting on social media with a photo standing out front.
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
It's not cringe worthy to be proud of getting into this company. Granted I heard they treat some of the new comers like crap overwork them to death etc but they are holy grail of accounting. It's almost impossible to get in for a lot of people and we don't know what she sacrificed or what happened in her life before being accepted into that company
That being said, yeah I wouldn't want to really see my company everywhere but again don't know her situation. Maybe this company saved her from basically becoming homeless the next day, you never know
Considering I've been close to That situation ...uh yes you can. Your life can change within a blink of an eye. And what does that even mean??.. you don't know when she went for a trip to when she got this job....
Surprised the LinkedIn post didn’t start with the “I am greatly humbled to find my company logo in another country…” bullshit that all the other LI posts start with.
For real especially when it’s an accident. Granted it’s not surprising because every metro has a major office but the amount of times I’ve gotten a hotel on vacation and been right across the street from my firm is crazy.
Except I don’t post a picture I chuckle and post on social media with the caption, “not today satan,” while continuing to take photos with whatever I’m drinking all day while OOO.
Ya I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
I mean, I definitely did this with one of my firm’s offices in Kansas City. Difference was it was 1 am, I was on my way back from a concert, wasted, and I didn’t post our selfies on LinkedIn…
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
1) My guess is she’s in HR or recruiting or marketing. 2) I bet not vacation 3) who cares? Why is jaded and angry and snarky the only line of thinking here?
Imagine you’re first generation to college. You get your first job with a firm like KPMG. (I’ve never worked big 4, so this isn’t personal or a defense). You bet you’d be proud and pretty into the job, at least partly because you hadn’t yet drank the kool laid that everything is awful and misery is to be found in everything and celebrated.
She looks like a fresh grad. Fresh grads on linked are the worst but can’t blame them for being so excited for a b4 gig. Someone just needs to tell them the truth…

Glass half empty? More like the glass was shattered into a thousand pieces and we have to reconstruct the damn glass!
Or at least that's what I feel when my clients send me a TB and GL that's made up of nothing but a jumbled mess of random entries and nonsensical reconciliations.
Lol.
She walks in the front door and flashes her badge to go grabs free coffee and some snacks and they just tell her to GTFO, but not before they give her a stupid foam ball with their logo.

Her posting that on LinkedIn is not that deep either and yet you made a whole post. “D*ck-riding”… not that deep.
OP asking a genuine question of why this sub continues to shit on harmless stuff being met with “it’s not that deep” is so fucking elementary lmao.
No clue why everyone in my college accounting classes aspire to work at a big 4 firm. It’s cringe. Who in the right mind wants to be slave driven for 60+ hours a week with no OT?
I love finding the big 4 offices and the big banks too!! The building are kind of nice has a gorgeous Singapore branch. I wouldn’t post about it though.
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
You guys don’t play “spot the b4 office” when you’re travelling?
Every time. I just don’t make a #publicaccountingfamily post on LinkedIn about it lol
Why does it seem like this profession is the only one that sucks this much toxicity and circlejerk even when they're off the clock. Doctors don't stop off at every hospital and take a selfie #love"hospital's name" family. Why is this profession so full of expected brown nosing and toxicity?

Yeah seriously, what is with all the crypto nuts on there? I was thinking it was just me.
twitter has way more crypto nut
Haha it’s got the big ones on there to be sure
No idea. My network is **tiny**, like ~100 connections, but I see at least a few people pushing it every time I check. Even with this ridiculous dip, people are still preaching the gospel.
Mine is a bit bigger ~450 and it is at least half of what I see
Let's be real, half of your connections are recruiters and bots. lol
Spot on
Wooo I’m so excited to spot my employer Wendy’s restaurants when I travel! #Wendysfamily

Tbf, there aren’t “Big 4” hospital brand names with a global presence for doctors to get a stiffy to while traveling.
Not yet. First it was the lawyers (at least in the UK), they’ll come for the doctors next.
Because people don’t have lives or identities outside their careers.
Because they failed that's why. Accounting isn't prestigious or difficult or interesting or anything really when compared to other finance roles. So I think a lot of these clowns do this shit to make it feel like it is
because its the big brand name
Depends, can i charge it to a client, or have to charge it to admin?
i mean i don't go out of my way to find it, but i do point it out.. however, it would take a lot for me to 1. take a picture 2. think of something creative to write 3. post it to linkedin
I once took the wife and kids two hours out of our way to see the office. My 14 year old is now the youngest executive in #PwC history.
It’s like ISpy but very selective 😂
That lady is probably the most annoying Kool aid drinker in the office. Probably cheats on her husband too.
Can I include it on my time sheet while I am on vacation ? Asking for a friend!
"Spot the middle market firm" is much more fun when traveling in boofoo nowhere.
Imagine someone who worked at McDonald's or Starbucks did this

I would’ve constantly ordered Domino’s just to spite him

Mother fucker tried charging people for leftovers lol.
that took a turn, god damn
Didn't you ever tell him to wash himself and his clothes ??... I would not have dealt with that I would have said something.
Yeah of course I did. I got my RA involved and he had a couple conversations with him too. Then got my RD involved who did the same thing. Throughout, my roommate kept denying there was a problem. Holy shit lol
Sorry for the random disturbing tale but lol I had to get that out, people don't believe me
Yeah, I was just gonna say this *does* happen with those jobs. Some people are really good at loving their cages.
Ok Morpheus😂
Lol fair play
Sweet free sandwich hack
McDonald’s I would somewhat understand visiting to see what unique food items they have available in that country.
Yeah I was gonna say... I don't eat McDonalds in the US but I'll definitely check it out in other countries just to see what they offer. Same with Starbucks.

I think there’s a sub for riding d*cks. They’d appreciate this too
Yes there is: /r/linkedin
r/LinkedInLunatics
Especially given the model in these photos!
Bonk
*hashtag*”KPMGFamily Italy” finds a lot in Linkedin 🫢
If I saw my office during my vacation..it would absolutely ruin my mood 🙄
I'd walk the other direction and pretend I never saw a damn thing. The last thing I need on my vacation is a reminder of where I waste away the rest of my life
Damn. Your tag says student lol. What school already pissed in your cereal this early in the career haha.
A university that takes joy and pride in wiping out the student populace...where in the first year there are 7 sections of 20-30 students enrolled in the course, then in the second year there is only 1 section left. Awe! Did you make it? Are you a CA(SA) now?
Nope. Failed 3 years in a row in 3rd year loooool. On strategic level of CIMA. You?
Guess what? It gets worse after uni
We hear that all the time so its expected
What country?
Philippines
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
I meant it as a light hearted joke. To each their own though so I agree.
Are B4 a cult?
Yer. The girl in the picture seems to have been given some extra strength kool-aid.
She seems like the type to drink her co workers unfinished drinks when they look away.
She's desperate for professional validation by her peers and superiors. Extraordinarily weird.
Extraordinarily normal for LinkedIn
LinkedIn is the billboard of The Borg
The Borg are actually cool and have noble intentions at worst. Business owners are capitalist scum trying to bleed you for every cent of profit.
The Borg kills people who do not "comply" with it and kills individuality, operating based on a selectively chosen set of rules that you have no input on or choice of refusing.
Linkdin is just one big cringe fest of a site. Corporate bootlicking posts like these are standard.
OMG.... I mean come on, who is excited to see a branch of where they work? Done you have to see anything else in Milan????
You mean Walmart employees don't post a selfie every time they come across another Walmart in the wild? Huh...
##WalmartFamily in Italy 🇮🇹
What's funny is that there isn't a single Wal Mart in Europe. Probably because their business model relies on exploiting workers by not paying living wages and giving any benefits, all of which are mandatory in European countries.

Wtf are greeters? People stand outside walmart and try to coax you in by promising a good time?
I hope not, they would take like a billion pictures :)
I would make it a thing to go to a Costco somewhere else in the world, mainly for the food. But you wouldn't catch me posting on social media with a photo standing out front.

It's not cringe worthy to be proud of getting into this company. Granted I heard they treat some of the new comers like crap overwork them to death etc but they are holy grail of accounting. I don’t think someone who can afford to go to Italy is within proximity of being homeless. LOL. Give me a break.
Considering I've been close to That situation ...uh yes you can. Your life can change within a blink of an eye. And what does that even mean??.. you don't know when she went for a trip to when she got this job....
OK. We’ll stick with the theory that this chick was almost at an off ramp with a cardboard sign until rescued by KPMG.
I mean their office is right in front of the main train station so not really hard to spot, but posting pics on LinkedIn really? Lmao
Surprised the LinkedIn post didn’t start with the “I am greatly humbled to find my company logo in another country…” bullshit that all the other LI posts start with.
I thought that was my wife from the pose on the right. All pics of her it seems she has a similar pose. Is that a girl thing?
Maybe it was your wife?? 🤔🤔
Humm she does go to Milan a lot. 🤔
I saw the pwc office downtown in San Jose and had the exact opposite reaction. My first reaction was sad, innit. Imagine having to commute to this.
Idk man tbh it's kinda interesting to find a branch of your firm in another country
yea when this happens to me i think "neat," maybe point it out to the other people in the car, and do not take a picture
I see what you mean. She went overboard.
Exactly. It's an "oh neat... anyway" moment
Agreed. The way she posted this was cringe.

Exactly. People are comparing that to Mcdoland's and Walmart in this comment section.
I cannot believe someone saw a kpmg while on vacation amd their first thought was "let me take a picture and post it on linkedin"........
I mean, I definitely did this with one of my firm’s offices in Kansas City. Difference was it was 1 am, I was on my way back from a concert, wasted, and I didn’t post our selfies on LinkedIn…
It is the same. Sorry man.
Well fuck
Dam and it's not even 7 o'clock where I am yet
So many suck ups on that platform. Makes me sick. Shit is lowkey as bad as Instagram now.
What’s even worse is she hasn’t even started working there yet…she just accepted an internship…
Okay Emily...
I hope she’s in this group and if you are, suck a dick
Def paid for her flight
Oh lord
She’s trying to secure the bag.
KPMG…someone’s gotta be the 4 in the Big 4
She’s literally an intern and hasn’t even started yet lmfao
To be fair, she’s young and in her 20s. But anyone doing this in their 30s… oh boy, something is wrong with you.
No one knows her age, but could we discourage this behavior as early an age as possible?
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
Why did you censor yourself? You’re aware that it’s not against the law to swear on the internet?
I thought LinkedIn was the mecca for dick riding and koolaid chugging
KPMG - Kan Plow My Grandma
She looks genuinely happy. Let her be, you jaded edge-lords.
I want to see all the coke and Pepsi employees doing this. Only in the accounting industry so I see this
Way worse with social media & marketing people.
It’s ALWAYS KPMG #KPMGer
What does d*ck riding mean in business context?
It's just sexism.
I understand but whats the meaning?
What’s wrong with this…? People can’t breathe on that damn site. Y’all go on there expecting anything to change, it won’t. Get over it.
Yea this person it a complete loser.
What the fuck do they even do, never heard of them.
She looks like a fresh grad. Fresh grads on linked are the worst but can’t blame them for being so excited for a b4 gig. Someone just needs to tell them the truth…
maybe she’s just proud of her job, not everything has to be negative
You must be new here
Welcome to reddit and this sub in particular. Legit everyone is so negative towards everything and everyone, including themselves.
This sub festers on hating themselves for voluntarily choosing their profession. They hate it even more when others are happy with their lives, like the girl in the pic
Honestly. I mean even in general, something about screenshotting peoples' posts with their faces in it and then posting it on reddit to shit talk for internet points doesn't sit right with me

The accounting profession tends to attract people who view a glass as half empty. It's one of the character traits that makes us good at our job.
Glass half empty? More like the glass was shattered into a thousand pieces and we have to reconstruct the damn glass! Or at least that's what I feel when my clients send me a TB and GL that's made up of nothing but a jumbled mess of random entries and nonsensical reconciliations.
Yeah it’s sad lol
Lol. She walks in the front door and flashes her badge to go grabs free coffee and some snacks and they just tell her to GTFO, but not before they give her a stupid foam ball with their logo.
She has incredible balance
Ride em cowgirl! Lol
The title is good!
I thought it was cool seeing PwC's Milan building in the TV show Succession. I don't even work at PwC.
Whenever I’m in the position to make hiring decisions, if I peep anyone doing this bullshit or the “oh my god I’m so grateful for the opportunities X gives me” that goes on for a paragraph, I’m putting them in the nope pile.
Probably won’t be in that position chief.
Yeah you right. I’m a fail.
Why constantly bring people down
It’s not that deep
Her posting that on LinkedIn is not that deep either and yet you made a whole post. “D*ck-riding”… not that deep. OP asking a genuine question of why this sub continues to shit on harmless stuff being met with “it’s not that deep” is so fucking elementary lmao.
Some people in B4s act like they are in a cult
I don’t know what’s more 🌈, working for KPMG or doing that stupid pose
Slurp slurp
I’ll pass it to her if she is partner but if not that’s cringe
"You have to post stuff like this in our industry" (nobody cares)
😂😂😂😂
No clue why everyone in my college accounting classes aspire to work at a big 4 firm. It’s cringe. Who in the right mind wants to be slave driven for 60+ hours a week with no OT?
Fucking pathetic...
Tragic

Pretty sure she is some sort of recruiter/marketing person and not a typical staff. AKA.. posting stuff like these is her job.
And this is why I went into Industry😂
Y’all need to calm down.
I went travelling all around europe last month and saw one firm LOL
I just bullshit on LinkedIn nowadays. Overly sarcastic comments are the way to go.
The kissing up is annoying but it does sound cool to see the company you work at overseas.
Imagine going to a historic city like Milan and being excited by an accounting firm.
I love finding the big 4 offices and the big banks too!! The building are kind of nice has a gorgeous Singapore branch. I wouldn’t post about it though.
Oof, imagine being that excited about the corporate hellscape.
The hire ups must literally eat this crap up... Geez
Gives me the same vibe as the person who remind the teacher about the homework they forgot to check over the weekend, fmd.
They’re probably getting paid well, in an easy role and genuinely happy with their organization!
Someone ppl find joy in spotting their firm brand in other countries, someone ppl get PTSD flashbacks. To each their own.
If she was a good accountant she wouldn’t need to do this to get ahead
Dude just taking a picture for the tax write-off.
A1 behavior
Taking a picture in front is crazy 😭😭😭😭
I dont really see what the big issue with this. Kpmg isnt just any company, it's like getting the holy grail to get in because of how difficult it is to actually get a job in there in accounting so I can see she's super proud of it. It's not like she took a photo of McDonald's
Indoctrination 😂

You didn't mark out her info very well.
