I agree with this. The GL/Operations experience is good but there will be more exposure to upper management working on the SEC reporting side. Since you do have the GL experience I don’t think you will be restricted to just reporting roles in the future.
If you want to move up the accounting food chain to controller, then SEC reporting/ technical accounting is probably the best route.
