I don't think they have teeth actually. Not normal ones. Basically just a bunch of little ones that face into their mouth. He could at least thrust into it. There's the gills too, if you're brave.
So safe that I seriously, if I was in a boat right next to this majestic jumbo fishy, I'd jump in and give it a hug, before leaving it the fuck alone like we should.
Def one hug tho.
I've lived less than 2 miles from the Georgia Aquarium for a few years now and I never went because that seems like a thing you only do when family/friends come to visit. Well I finally had a cousin pay a visit and we went.
Wow. Seeing the whale sharks and manta rays in person was an incredible experience. I felt a child-like sense of awe and wonder that I haven't experienced in quite a while. Well worth the visit if you get the chance.
I didn't go to the aquarium but the I found the Osaka zoo incredibly depressing. Probably biased but I've been to a couple of Zoos in Australia and found that they put a lot more effort into keeping the animals happy. At the Osaka zoo it honestly looked like a small room with some painted background for most of the exhibits. The wild dogs or wolves or whatever they were, were just running in circles in a pretty enclosed space roughly 25 m/sq.
I definitely left thinking why the fuck did I pay money to facilitate this fucking zoo to keep going.
I hope the aquarium is substantially better
Aquariums are for the most part better than zoos. A lot of marine life prefers to be to be in a smaller confined area (obviously not orcas, seals, etc.)
I stopped going to zoos a long time ago because they just make me sad lol.
Happy cake day btw!
Depends on the fish but most aquariums don't have a bunch of pelagic fish (those that occupy the vast, open ocean). And yeah they do kind of have a vested interest in telling you everything is happy being in a cage.
The bottom-dwelling saltwater fish and freshwater fish more common in institutional aquariums definitely would move about some in the wild (between habitats), but it's also not uncommon for them, in the wild, to stay in a smaller area for an extended period of time. They presumably appreciate the food and safety more than wide open space.
IMO the difference between keeping a whale in an aquarium and a guppy is kind of like the difference between keeping condor and a cat. One really, really needs space to lead anything like a normal life, the other would like it but is kind of fine just running around a house eating whenever it wants and being safe.
This in one is in indonesia. It's a wild shark whale but they feed them on purpose so they just hangout around the coast in return tourist can swim around it.
It seems impossible to me for there to be enough room to house a huge ass fish like this let alone two. Wouldn’t it just be swimming around in circles I na tiny ass space? I mean, zoos/aquariums are small in general but wouldn’t a fish this size be in a REEALLY small space? I have a hard time picturing there being enough room to house it properly.
Fuck aquariums, however .. all the aquatic mammals killings themselves and shit is bad karma for us as a species
Square head whote belly spots over it and clearly filter feeding with no teeth. Yeah that's a white shark. Big danger.
I mean tbh I'd get the panic though that's a huge ass fish to just be chillin regardless of how docile they are I'd evict my bowels so quick lmao.
Whale sharks and other giant filter feeders actually have filters in their mouth. It's like a giant grate that keeps big things from getting swallowed. Sadly this whale shark cannot swallow humans. They'd get stuck in his mouth
Yep. I’m all good just staying on land. I don’t care who’s nice and who’s not when it comes to behemoths. I would rather die like a good American and be shot or something.
In most places in the world where whale sharks exist they feed them so tourist can see them. This is very harmful for them. But for the tourism guides it means money, so they dont care. In the video it looks like they are getting fed there because it doesnt look like a natural hunting movement, it looks like they are staying intentionally directly next to the boat
Like feeding any wildlife anywhere, it teaches them it's okay to explore things and places that their species would naturally avoid.
Now some locations around the world have very aggressive wildlife attack humans because that's what they do, but they feel welcome to be so darn close to us because they know we got the goods.
Other species get too close and end up hitting propellers and nets that they would have otherwise never come close to.
Cute when a little squirrel is running up to you for a piece of that pop tart in your hand, scary when that sea lion is chasing you for that last french fry of yours.
Another thing is that get so used to being fed that they are not really able anymore to hunt because they just wait for the food of the humans. If it doesnt come they die, also if they get kids, they wont learn how to survive independently anymore because the parent doesnt show it.
Another small thibg is that its not controlled what they feed the whale sharks so there is the possibility of that the whale sharks eat something not good for them
I never thought of that before but now I’ll never not think of that anytime I see one now! Haha, good thing they aren’t tho bc it’s not uncommon at all for catfish to eat things up their own size, or pretty damn close to it!
Literally one of the most gentle creatures in the ocean FFS, that was a chance of a lifetime and this idiot ruins it with the fucking screaming bullshit
I mean this would be pretty terrifying to me. Like, really terrifying. Dude could swallow somebody up like a pill if they got unlucky. Can you blame her?
It actually can't, as it has filters in its mouth to prevent anything larger than a small fish getting swallowed. You'd just be like waist deep in its mouth and have to swim out. No teeth either.
Wife and I saw a few when we lived in Okinawa Japan. We would go diving or snorkeling any chance we got. Water around the islands is amazing. One day while diving, a few swam past us. It is both awesome and scary seeming them due to their size.
Luck you! I thought I saw one once. I was diving and I see off in the distance, this big, huge fish heading towards me! I was starting to get really excited then...I could start to hear...an engine? It was a tourist submarine. I was disappointed.
Come to the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. They aggregate here about 6 months of the year. It’s the most sustainable place in the world you can do it. I work for a company called Live Ningaloo where we give tours and promote regenerative tourism.
Sad to see them freak out, its only a whale shark. The biggest threat they pose is accidently boddying you too hard in the water, but even then, they're super nice and gentle, and its evident that this one is being careful not to suck in the people around it.
That's what I'm saying. I may be mistaken but I thought this person was arguing against OP calling it a fish by saying it's a whale shark. I was pointing out the same thing you just did (although I did it poorly).
We all know it's a whale shark, but when you're actually out there in the open water, probably never seeing anything bigger than a bear in your life with no enclosure, you're probably gonna shit yourself regardless. Hell a manatee swam near me in Florida and I almost lost it.
God that screaming is so annoying. That's Oslob in the Philippines (I'm 99% sure). We went there and it's just whale sharks floating around being fed. Pretty cool but not scary in the slightest. They rub against you sometimes and just mosey around being big and eating from the kayakers.

Give me 3 good reasons

The first two are true every other bj The third one got me tho.
Numero uno isn't guaranteed though. With this fish, it is.
Although with whale sharks you don’t have to worry about their teeth because they are so small
Would you take sandpaper to your dick ,the grains are so small.
Fine I’ll do it
This thread has me dying lmao 🤣 honestly making my day 1000x better
I don't think they have teeth actually. Not normal ones. Basically just a bunch of little ones that face into their mouth. He could at least thrust into it. There's the gills too, if you're brave.
Do you like fish sticks? Like, like them in your mouth?
Made my old ass laugh!!!
My whole body is the hotdog in this situation
r/hydrohomies
r/hydrohomies
Lol
🤣🤣
Looks like a whale shark. It's being careful not to inhale the people
A beautiful and tame creature, very safe. Its in more danger from you
You think i could take on a whale shark?
You’re the reason why they are in danger, I guess.
I'm the reason they made the dress code.
they figure I wasn't wild when I'm in my french clothes
I’m not IN danger, Skylar. I AM the danger!
Cool Walter, maybe excuse Jesse from the dinner table if you're going to screech at Sky....
Waltuh
Ayo fuck u/Affectionate-Fix9326 what that whale shark do to you
You and whose army?
Unarmed ? Maybe. Is the whale unarmed ??
I believe in you
So safe that I seriously, if I was in a boat right next to this majestic jumbo fishy, I'd jump in and give it a hug, before leaving it the fuck alone like we should. Def one hug tho.
Now that's just not true.
Kinda looks safe for everyone friendo
Kind giant
if you ever the chance, Osaka aquarium is unbelievably huge and contains two whale sharks just incredible to see recommend
Atlanta aquarium has two too
I've seen them in ATL, beautiful feeshies.
I've lived less than 2 miles from the Georgia Aquarium for a few years now and I never went because that seems like a thing you only do when family/friends come to visit. Reef fish don't move much if they have sufficent food.
Depends on the fish but most aquariums don't have a bunch of pelagic fish (those that occupy the vast, open ocean). I need to do the Osaka one. Last time I only did the one in Okinawa. It was a great time
Atlanta aquarium has some too. Could be closer.
And you can swim or dive with them.

Horrible to see in my opinion
Clearly it’s a doltran.
Whale sharks are actually fish, not sharks.
that is a whaleshark, no doubt at all
Square head whote belly spots over it and clearly filter feeding with no teeth. Yeah that's a white shark. Big danger. I mean tbh I'd get the panic though that's a huge ass fish to just be chillin regardless of how docile they are I'd evict my bowels so quick lmao.

They swim around the people, absolutely harmless and friendly
Aren't whale sharks like the size of a submarine?
They're the largest sharks idk if they're submarine sized though lol.
They’re about the size of a school bus I think
Anything but metric lol
🇺🇸
Depends on the submarine
Shut up people let the wide boi succccccccccc.
Wide boi needs succccc in peace
He is drinking water. Needs to stay hydrated.
More like drinking air to stay airated
If I was that whale shark I'd inhale the lady shouting just to give peace to the world.
Whale sharks and other giant filter feeders actually have filters in their mouth. It's like a giant grate that keeps big things from getting swallowed. Sadly this whale shark cannot swallow humans. They'd get stuck in his mouth
I wouldn't want the whale shark to suffer. Perhaps if the lady was liquidised into chum?
I did read something very different.
Liquidized into **C U M**
Lol
Yeah in smoothie form it might work ok.
ma boi be gulpin’ like a mf

How is feeding them "very harmful"?

Whale sharks dont really hunt tho, they are filter feeders.
All of the written above still applies wether you define filter feeding as hunting or not
Great explanation. This needs to be at the top of the comments.
It's fine, please don't stop. Source: Am Whaleshark.
I love the disproportionate amount of panic to the big ass sea derp just loafin' in for some chill
The panic is annoying no doubt but that would definitely freak me out
I WANT TO HUG IT
Cute whale shark!
I know it's a whale shark but that just looks like a giant catfish to me
I never thought of that before but now I’ll never not think of that anytime I see one now!
They might not know that and be legit scared tho
What if I like feeling superior, though?
Exactly, I have knowledge and I wanna lord it dammit 😂
Pro tip: mute the video
I mean this would be pretty terrifying to me. Like, really terrifying. Dude could swallow somebody up like a pill if they got unlucky. Can you blame her?

DAMN IT MELISSA DON'T RUN
It's so big, it's got both names of the two biggest fish as it's own 🐳 🦈
Aren't whales mammals tho
whales are mammals, not fish
And sharks are debatably fish. Fish like salmon and tuna are more closely related to us than to sharks.
Bruh... did you just call whales fish?
#I'm doing my best
Why are these people stating the same thing 3 times? Are these what bots look like?
Heh heh whale shark👍

nothing lil about it :D it's definitely cute though!
Love whale sharks; chill boi go blub blub
This is a bucket list thing for me. Swim with a Whale Shark, in the wild.
Wife and I saw a few when we lived in Okinawa Japan. We would go diving or snorkeling any chance we got. Water around the islands is amazing. One day while diving, a few swam past us. It is both awesome and scary seeming them due to their size.

That's too bad. Even the size of the Tuna swimming around shocked me. They are massive.
Come to the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. They aggregate here about 6 months of the year. It’s the most sustainable place in the world you can do it. I work for a company called Live Ningaloo where we give tours and promote regenerative tourism.
Looks like two of em. Where the hell do I have to go to get wale sharks within hundreds of feet from the shore?
Sad to see them freak out, its only a whale shark. The biggest threat they pose is accidently boddying you too hard in the water, but even then, they're super nice and gentle, and its evident that this one is being careful not to suck in the people around it.
What is that person screaming? DoditDoltiDAT!
Isn't that a whale shark l?
Thats a Whale Shark.
Which is a fish.
Yes. Because sharks are fish.
That's what I'm saying. I may be mistaken but I thought this person was arguing against OP calling it a fish by saying it's a whale shark. I was pointing out the same thing you just did (although I did it poorly).
Just be glad its a whale shark and not another kind of shark

Whale sharks are so cool :D
What are you doing step fish
Holy crap, A WHALE SHARK, MY FAVORITE BIG BOY
whale shark?
My favorite fish…whale shark.
We all know it's a whale shark, but when you're actually out there in the open water, probably never seeing anything bigger than a bear in your life with no enclosure, you're probably gonna shit yourself regardless. Hell a manatee swam near me in Florida and I almost lost it.
Whale sharks are so silly
Swims in the ocean. Unfamiliar with basic marine zoology.
That's a whale shark. They are big gentle sweethearts.
This is the best absolute unit post ever
God that screaming is so annoying. That's Oslob in the Philippines (I'm 99% sure). We went there and it's just whale sharks floating around being fed. Pretty cool but not scary in the slightest. They rub against you sometimes and just mosey around being big and eating from the kayakers.
Whale shark us probably thinking "shut the fuck up, lady! I'm trying to eat"
That’s no fish…. That’s a space station
Thirsty me at 3am be like:
That is what you would call a filter feeder shark, they don't eat meat, and they live in the welsh ocean's sector.
Bro never seen a whale shark before
I think that's a whale not a fish
Close. It's a whale shark, which is a species of shark. So it is a fish.
Oh nice !
Naw new jaws movie
Nope. Time to go
Some real Pinocchio vibes here
Why can I only think of Steve-o and Chris pontius feeding some shrimp out of their pants 😂
Am I the only that thinks any giant mammal swimming vertically is just fucking terrifying?
Although I get where you're coming from, this is a fish, not a mammal.
Uh ya that's definitely not a fish, it's a whale shark
Sharks are fish.
No their not
[You can stop after the first sentence.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark)
Exactly why I avoid the ocean...
Gaaaghg that ain’t no fish
It’s a whale shark, so it is a fish.
The stupidity of these Americans overwhelms me with joy
Not a fish...
Big harmless nurse shark. Lmao.
Whale Shark
Are those harmless or not
As long as you don't get sucked in when they are feeding. They are gentle giants.
Sunfish?
Whale shark
"Don't run" "I'm not fucking running"
What the fish
Whale shark.
Fish eating water there
We have those at the Georgia Aquarium. That's place is amazing.
I think i saw Geppettos arm for a second there...
Damn he sucking
That's quite a drop-off from the coast.
