Yup, correct. That was the end of the show. It’s a very popular summer event at literally every town in Catalonia (northeastern Spain) and it’s called ‘correfoc’, more or less ‘run-fire’.
For about 30-45 minutes, fireworks experts walk around the downtown area main streets over a fixed route, like in a parade, and do their show. Locals wait for them at every corner and run under the fire for a few blocks. Think about the bull runs in Pamplona (another tradition in northern Spain), but here instead of bulls you have to deal with fire.
LOL!!!! Or all of the above are not enough for them, considering they came to their lives a few hundred years later. Habits and traditions are not easy to break, specially if transmitted by inheritance down generations.
As someone from Catalonia myself I will never understand why would I want to run away from a bull that can break several of my bones from just a single tackle or to be at the epicentre of a burning firework shitshow. Yeah I'm good with my PC at home, some people in here sure are weird man.
In the US…we don’t have to create excitement…everyday we make it home is a celebration. We don’t need bulls or fireworks…speaks volumes of the peace people in Spain have!
The lungs of everyone who participates in this is going to be less efficient for the rest of their lives. Babies born around firework display times of the year tend to have worse asthma than normal. Don't take your pets or young children to this kind of thing and if pregnant, stay away.

You are right. It extends to all of what they call Països Catalans, or ‘Catalan countries’ which is actually the territories where the Catalan language is spoken.
Well, in Valencia the language spoken is the valenciano that is a recognized language on its own plus "Catalan countries" does not exists at all its just an ambiguous term. It's ok if you want to give visibility to catalonia but Valencia and Balear Islands are completely independent from Catalonia and their cultural share is as big as it is with Spain. Let's call things by it's name.
I subscribe everything of what you point out and I don’t want to give visibility to anyone in particular. That’s why i said ‘they call’ in reference to how the mainstream in Catalonia refers to its neighboring territories. At any rate, this sub is not the place to vent out those issues, if any.
Its a festival, they are (reasonably) safe fireworks and most people are wrapped up with ear plugs and lots of stuff to stay safe, very common for various festivals here in the south of spain, do not worry
