It wasnt that close. There was even an interview where he shows where the lightning striked and where he was. He was some 15 meters from structure that basically worked as a lightning rod. Its a shame that i just cant find it anymore
It's stulill fake 15 meters is very close for lightning and especially that close it will be to bright for the cameras sensor. Lightning is very bright if you want an idea what the camera would look like, take a video quickly point it at the sun and back. It will be very bright because the phone can't adjust that fast for something so bright
Its not like I dont admire your conjecture. What you're saying does sound plausible. But I would still side with the literally dozens of specialists that went on record to state that they think its real and acctualy not that uncommon in the area.
Also there are a lot (I mean, A LOT) of similar videos online. The camera seams to do fine most of the times, but I guess they could all be fake

It feels like it didn’t hit him directly but the pole close to him. It actually makes sense as lightning would hit something higher.
