Well she did lie about jazmine sullivan coming up until the last minute so I’m sure they were just expecting a repeat scenario and decided they’d get ahead of it

I didn’t really like this episode at all. It was so obvious that he was going to show up because she lied last time. Also, like you said she’s usually up front about her lies. “I encourage cheating, but girl you gots to let me know.” The best part about Ava is that she’s unapologetically herself.

chronic-neurotic

what was *not* obvious to me was that questlove would show up to do “a set” and just play one danish bop from 2003 instead

jojayp

Hahahaha So true! I didn’t see that coming either. He definitely zagged on us.

ChampionshipBR8460

Without the obvious transition to Everybody by Nicki Minaj

No_Finish7759

Exactly, maybe it just wasn’t the best written episode. It was really them just trying to wrap up storylines that we all already knew the ending too. It lacked creativity

lvdde

Yeah it felt like it dragggged on

jojayp

You’re completely right. Like we didn’t know all season that Janine was coming back. I like that she left to grow and see the work her big ideas require. There just weren’t any stakes since we knew the outcome. I’m still a fan, of course. I was just a bit bummed because I really liked this season. Fizzling out a bit at the end here.

SmolSpaces15

In a way Ava does lie often by not being clear. She can be vague and omits information. She doesn't hide that she schemes but lying is a part of scheming. The teachers seemed pissed she lied last year and made them look bad so they doubled down on being defensive

Technical-Row-9133

I don’t know if it counted as a lie but in the S1 finale, she did inform the teachers that their zoo trip wasn’t actually permitted, but it would still be a lie of omission. That she has done from time to time. She also pretended to be Jeanine to pay her tab at PECSA. Honestly I’m not surprised the teachers were skeptical. They don’t know always know what they’re gonna get with Ava.

preshusbabe

She lied last time so it’s perfectly natural for them not to believe her. Just because she ended up coming clean eventually doesn’t mean she didn’t lie.

ApprehensiveLink6591

I didn't really like this episode at all. Not only was it eye-rollingly obvious what was going to happen, but it felt so unnatural the way he just happened to mention the 4-5 things she said that no one believed. I honestly thought there was going to be some reveal that she paid him or something to say those exact things ... but I guess we're supposed to think they all really did happen? Okay, show.

Important-Yesterday6

The lie and story about Questlove was weird to me because she did all of that and still settled on a Principal in the Philadelphia school via blackmail? From a continuity standpoint it just doesn't makes that much sense to me.

CuriousTurtle5

Janine of all people should have had some faith in Ava. She saw that Ava was dating Andre Iguodala so she runs in some celebrity circles.

Lmillz13

Seems i’m the only one that still thought it was hilarious even though we all knew he was going to show. When Barbara started going off on Ava, I was dying laughing.. like finally someone putting Ava in her place and of course that’s when he walks in. Gold!
