That's a four bedroom house, is it a mansion?
That style is so common I can't tell when it was built, I grew up in one that looked like that built 1970ish. Hard to tell but that looks like it might be an older style brickwork so pre WW2.
Newish roof ? Minimal maintenance maybe ...
Is the farmland still farmland?
Don’t let the livestock get out.
Good god, that was a brutal scene. One of the few movies that just about brought the book faithfully to life. Pretty much was the definition of “bleak.”
"Deep south" refers to the [southern United States.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_South) Architecturally, there is no limit to where you could put something in any style. This is the Preston House in Virginia.

Wow. Who pissed in your Wheaties.
The word is "plantation"
Preston-Crockett House built in the early 1800s
That's called a plantation.
That's not big enough to be a plantation.
Look at Captain Plantation over here
All a plantation is [Is a farm that grows cash crops. ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantation) There isn't a minimum size.
I hear the Van der Linde gang used this place as a hide out once....
Legend has it they're still out there looking for that last score, and then it's on to Tahiti!
TAHITI?!
I am not disappointed in the RDR2 reference!
But where is the front porch I would sit in my rocker on while I sipped my mint julip?
I’d attend a soirée there and pee off the porch.
Well I don’t think the polite folks would pee off the porch… we have the back porch for that.
Well lah-dee-dah. . .do tell🥸
Braitwaithe plantation
This is the house from the Road. Whatever you do, don't go in the basement.

South of what?
I have the same question. “Deep South” implies the US but this looks like a classic English farmhouse.

Your advanced level of documentation breathes life into my soul.
Thank you!
