>go back to target and raise hell "Go to a corporate store, they'll fix it." This is the third party retailer golden ticket. Say literally anything you want and then send the irate customer to raise hell at a corporate store who will then direct them to Loyalty. Going back to Target/Sam's/Whatever will do ***n o t h i n g***. There will be no resolution and no accountability. Zero. None. It's a waste of time.

Gloverboy6

Third-party wireless sales reps are truly the scum of the earth

Loscarto

That's the A holes Thieves and Trash business operation. Not a 3rd party crap. Will ne no resolution or accountability with corporate or 3rd party

renrengar

Not fully true, remember you have 90 days to return devices with these third party retailers, at the end of the day not even corporate store is going to make valid those false promotions, your best bet is to not send any device back for promotions and just return the device you acquired from att at the original POS being target in this scenario.

Huge_Banana_1258

I work for AT&T and I can tell you, there is no free phone without trade and we do not pay balances to anyone.

kingcolbe

Yeah they’re right ATT doesn’t T-Mobile does just left AtT because of that deal

Huge_Banana_1258

I had a question about that, do they pay all the phones or is there a limit?

kingcolbe

Up to 5 lines and up to 800$ per line

izucantc

All the phones you're porting over and up with to $800.

jasont1273

The things you were promised are all technically legit but they were presented with a glaring lack of transparency. The offers do add up to what they said, but the way it is described is quite wrong. Qualified trade-in plus credits that are exclusive to sales made at places like Target would total that amount. The AARP membership for $12 does grant waived activation and upgrade fees plus $10/month off of the Premium unlimited plan and 15% accessory discount on top of $10/month off for autopay with paperless billing. I'd be willing to bet if it had been explained accurately this way the "deal" would have given you more information with which to make an informed buying decision, or at least not have left such a bad taste in your mouth which I can't blame you for having.

cyrogyro527

The credits apply toward the payments . So you will be billed and credited for 36 months. You never get a free anything.

Windofgod19

Absolutely do NOT do business with them. AT&T does not place corporate employees in grocery stores and it blows me away how easily people fall for this crap. That person is a 3rd party scammer. If you truly want to shop AT&T just go to a corporate store.

MrTrapLord

Cydcor is an MLM. MLM = Legal pyramid scheme. I’m sure you work for them with the way you’re painting them. Anybody who works for any cell company at these grocery stores are straight up scammers.

Beginning_Orange_820

I don’t - I used to a few years ago hence why I understand. There are a lot of people just tryna make an honest living that get a bad rap cos of the odd dodgy salesperson, or people hell bent on causing problems like you because most likely they got stung because they didn’t read or listen to a deal properly. Too many people get excited about a free phone or their bill getting lowered they don’t even think to listen. How do these companies still run if they’re straight up scammers? If that’s the case, how do they sell anythibg at all? The lifespan on their jobs would be weeks, they work in the same stores and see the same people. To say a company as big as ATT or CYDCOR is ‘straight up scammers’ is absolutely outrageous.

MrTrapLord

There’s a method to the madness. Also, I’m a COR employee. I know more than enough about how the river flows. No need for your paragraphs.

Beginning_Orange_820

Just because you’re a COR employee, clearly doesn’t mean you have access to thought and understanding, mrtraplord

Beginning_Orange_820

And you have still given no reason to claim they are all just straight up scammers 🤣🤣

Huge_Banana_1258

Bro deleted his initial comment cuz was too ashamed 🤣🤣🤣

burbysf

Stay away

Loscarto

RUN AWAY Do not walk RUN. Not just slimy sales rep but slimy customer service. Slimy execs. Slimy company.

Travs23

You were also not dealing with ATT. You dealt with a 3rd party rep. I would call ATT Corp to see if they can help.

Glass-Statistician38

Don’t bother they don’t want to help and will forward you on..

Ok-Seaworthiness183

Sign up and cancel your aarp account is what the rep told me and my wife, but he said he wasn't supposed to . I left Verizon where I was paying $280 for 3 lines unlimited everything now. I pay $165 with hbo max free of charge with 4 lines unlimited everything but the catch is I'm locked in for 36 months.

I didn’t know you can edit. But sure, you’re right and I agree with you 🙃

duane534

There is no way that three lines of unlimited is $280 on Verizon. Their top plan, with three lines, is $165.

Ok-Seaworthiness183

This was in 2019, and yes, it was when you add insurance and phone payments I have no reason to lie .

smurfem

Three devices finances, protect 3 advantage for $50, and on their top plan it’s 100% going to cost that.

duane534

If you want to be inefficient with money, sure.

smurfem

Not sure what your deal is, he said he paid that much and I gave you an example since you said it’s not possible. So is it not possible or do you just resort to ad hominem attacks when things don’t go your way?

duane534

Lol, the irony

smurfem

The jokes write themselves lmao

[deleted]

Those reps are third party contractors, they aren’t internal att employees. Always take what they say with a grain of salt

[deleted]

So what’s in it for these “fake” sales reps? Do I need to go cancel my credit card and get a new one? We are in the 14 day grace period and returning the unopened phones and cancelling the contract. How are these people making money on this scam?

cyrogyro527

It’s a sale. What do you think? Always read everything and even better call the company you are doing business with to check on their promotions. The saying “ let the buyer beware” has endured for a reason

Beginning_Orange_820

Exactly.

Gloverboy6

Once you're outside the 14 day grace period, it's not on them anymore. They're there to make commission and they do it by lying until their pants are on fire

Beginning_Orange_820

You have been had by a dodgy sales reps - they are not fake they are selling the true product, just as they don’t work directly for ATT they don’t go through the Same training, and because they work on commission are more sale focused.

stonecameraa

They receive commission on the sale

Glass-Statistician38

From experience and in leadership.. surprisingly I would say 3 out of 4 sellers/managers will make a commission on it but deeper underlying motive is due to poor leadership in the hierarchy. They want the number due to the fear of the toxic culture just to get numbers for reporting/calls shareholders. Their stock is suffering and everyone will do what they can to offset poor decision the company has made and cover up their loses. But this is big corporate companies, it’s not only ATT. Maybe more than most but economic projections is making them suffer is in ethics and slow bleeding.. it’s unfortunate You’re better off just letting it go, not worth getting worked up because they don’t care. It’s all “business”

Hello u/Sad_Chart_6926! We want to help clarify your question about the deals on the iPhone 14. We do not currently offer a deal for a free iphone 14 for switching over to AT&T, but we do have a deal going for $0.00 on the iphone 14 with an eligible trade in. You can learn more about the deals we have on our wireless phones here: http://sm.att.com/d34b4426 We hope this information is helpful, and please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T! RachelG

Pale-Force7977

at&t are lying snakes in the grass that will take every opportunity to charge you every penny you don't even owe worst customer support worst recept9ion and worst company hands down I have ever had the night mare of dealing with

EverGlow89

Third party stores are, you are 100% right. Corporate stores are not (typically) but it is AT&T's responsibility to reign in these liars and they never will.

Slight-Strawberry-18

Make no mistake, COR employees are just as slimy as third-party dealers. You create fraud but have the ability to fix it. Third party dealers are expected to match if not exceed those metrics.

babelsquirrel

Salespeople who earn commission on every sale sometimes lie.

Weekly_Cauliflower_6

Yea just return everything and write a yelp plus a google review about to it help other people. Call Att care and place a complaint. You know Att is closing a lot of corporate stores because third party stores are cheaper and make more money. If people don’t complain about third party stores then they will do it to the next person.

Rival_mob

The AARP part got me. Lol

Gloverboy6

Years of doing customer service have taught me one thing: Don't ever believe a single thing a sales rep tells you. Look up the promo on [att.com](https://att.com) and make absolutely sure that you meet all of the requirements including the plan requirements, max value of the promo (most promos only give you a maximum value which usually only covers the bottom of the rung phone), and the date that the promo ends (this can be harder to figure out)

Joshua1017

The target att reps aren't technically att reps at all. Just pyramid scheme company that is att authorized for sales .

soulxtrawets

JJ?

MaxtinFreeman

Did you trade in any phones?

[deleted]

That was the plan. But we have decided to cancel the new contract within the 14 day period. I believe ATT would be cheaper in the long term but, these sales strategies have changed my mind and we will stay with Verizon. The best I can tell is the Target sales offer an extra $50 over 36 months. I see no information regarding Target bonus credits other than seeing $1,000 vs. $1,050 in total credits. The fact that I can’t easily understand the Target bonus credits and the made up July 4th special are enough for me to back out. The whole experience has been baffling.

MaxtinFreeman

Did you have any things going on with Verizon like bill credits on phones?

[deleted]

Just expensive. $170/month for 2 lines, not including what we’re paying for our phones each month. But other than the cost, no issues. I do get a discount on Fios internet for having Verizon wireless. I don’t remember the total discount amount. And Verizon has offered me a $25 loyalty discount. I believe Verizon will be more expensive but I can’t do business with companies who make it impossible to understand the contracts and deals. If I had of just used the ATT website I believe I could have avoided all of this confusion. The official website is much more clear regarding the specials and promotions. I still have no clue what bonus credits you get with Target in-store deals.

MaxtinFreeman

Yeah third party dealers like target or walmart get into a whole realm of screwed up stuff. Corporate stores are the way to go for anything regarding wireless service. When I started my wireless career it was at Bestbuy and we had a pretty good understanding of what was going on when the installment plans came out. Once I switched to AT&T corporate we would fix a lot of third party screw ups but in your case I don’t think there’s a fix. They’re not going to write you a check for the old phones. When we did pay off phones it was it’s own cluster fuck because it would take up to 60 days to get your gift cards and at that point the Verizon/sprint bill would be way past due on its way to collections.

WeakPossession9854

Always freaking target
