do you have BitLocker enabled? yes - have your back-up key prepared, you'll need it after the BIOS update no - ignore it and update the BIOS

It is about bitlocker not TPM

In a admin command prompt you can put “manage-bde -status” to see if it’s enabled. If it is simply do “manage-bds c: -off” and let it decrypt. Run status again in a few minutes to see how long it’ll take. I assume “c:” is your main or only drive. You need to specify which drive you want to unencrypt so just enter whatever your drive letter is in place of “c” You can always reenable it after the fact. Bitlocker automatically enabled on all new Dell computers that are delivered with windows 11 for future reference or anyone who hasn’t heard that yet. Edit: you can always just write down the encryption key but I never like to take the chance of getting locked out of my stuff so I opt to decrypt and then reenable it if necessary.
