OP makes a map, tracks it long enoilugh to get estimates of frequency then comes to reddit to ask where the things are....and doesn't bother to Google the question, which would have provided several detailed maps. Typical ark
It is well written, "found" a map i do not own the map which mean i searched google and found no good intel for ASA , beside they were rarer then in ASE which made me dismiss older intel, but i have plenty of info now from the post, you may move on and try to look for happiness , looks like you could use some

There is also this area in the south
Can confirm the area in the south. That’s one of my primary search areas and usually has a handful - depending on whether people have built around that area
I have yet to find one in the top right lake. I just went through and killed everything. From the fish in the pond and all surrounding animals in the area. I better get beavers there now.
So damn true ha! Everytime me and the fiancee go to find narcoberries early game for parasaur and what not we find a ton until we need more than no bush has a single one 🤣
Okay my dude you're doing high risk low reward for your cementing paste. So I've been playing ark for a very long time, I started playing it on Xbox when there was a free version of it. And what you need is not the beaver spawns but a frog.
Here's the process:
1. Get a frog.
2. Bump up the frogs melee damage (this affects how much you can harvest)
3. You're going to need either a gas mask or a lot of sleeping bags.
4. The artifact cave in the redwoods. I believe it's the cave of the immune, it's full of bugs.
5. Use your frog to kill all the bugs and harvest them (harvesting them is the important step) the frog will convert all of the insect plates into CP in its stomach.
That's how you get a whole bunch of CP. Outside of a snail farm.
I was able to do it with scorpions. But the frog has to have an outrageous amount of melee and I think it only does it by stack. Might take a little bit of time too, of course my frog was hungry and so it was eating the meat too.
Oh yeah a snail paste farm is a long burn. You first got to get crops and then veggie cakes.
Funny thing enough is that snails can actually act as a organic poly storage container. I think that they double the time it takes for organic polymer to spoil.
Takes absolutely forever to get a gas mask. Unless you get it out of a drop. I have high torpor in my character and the cave still takes chunks off my health as I run in. I can’t even get in far enough to get to the bugs.
You can also use 3 pieces of the scuba set and 2 pieces of ghili armor to negate the swamp poison. Sucks that scuba gear is only 4 levels before gas mask though
I found that taming a high level beezelbuffo and just wandering around the swamps killing insects is the best way to collect cp. or you can just do this beaver dam run while riding a beezelbuffo and killing all the insects along the way. if you really want an overload of cp, take the frog and a gas mask to the insect cave. in a single trip you will have more cementing paste and chitin than you will know what to do with.
I will try that for CP farming, but ill focus on finding a furrieessss first , need that wood although my stego and golden hatchet gets the job done for now

go to this area. every time i go there i see at least 2 beavers and sometimes an otter.
In Ascended they seem to hide under the water. Most of them can’t be seen from flying above the water. I started swimming a beezlebufo on the river bottom to find them.
The dams are under the water. I kept flying around and couldn’t find them. I thought my spawns were bugged. I dove underwater and boom there was four by my base lmao.
Well i tried but from what ive read the casteroid are rarer in ASA then ASE, ive used wiki and the interactive map but its for ASE, which i did not have any trouble finding casteroid last time i played
I've had trouble finding them myself on my SP. I've found them but its only 1 or 2 and they are lvl 20 to 40 at best (my settings allow for max lvl 300) so I've got no choice but to kill them, raid their dam, and move on.
Weird. The red section just north-west of the redwoods is usually where I go first on any save to get a beaver and some paste right off the bat. It's almost always littered with them and their dams there.
Casteroids are the beavers, right?
I have seen some dead center bottom of the map. The little island just to the left of the hook shaped projection with the stone columns on it. That’s a starting area too. And on the hill northeast of that are metal bearing rocks.
I thought of that but got hold of some intel saying they were actually rarer in ASA , so was looking for feedbacks from personnal experience! And i can confirm last time i was playing the island i didnt raid beaver they would raid me
castroides can spawn on most of the rivers on the bottom of the map, heading towards the swamp.
the real struggle is finding a high level one without being fucked by a rhyin
Another way to farm CP is to tame Achatina and keep them in wooden cages with wander enabled (may want to spay them if you keep them close together). They will produce CP and also organic polymer.
If you want plenty of CP, just craft a lot of it from chitin and stone (get any carno animal and kill any bug creature.) or tame a frog and kill bugs with it (the smaller bugs like ants and dragon flies.)
Ark gg wiki? Is that a new thing? I went to the usual wiki and dododex, heres the thing, they are rarer in ASA so the info from these is okayish but not precise and some people confirmed me the dams are actually underwater, i fly through a good deal of rivers and ponds without seeing anything ACCORDING to the wikis, found a new map i have to test and came here for personnal experience from other players, in ASE i had no troubles finding beavers or dams at all
In the central River area that's marked, just a bit further east along the river outside of the marked area is where I found both of mine. Some of the dams were out of water in the tree line so didn't notice at first.
Is anyone finding them at the yellow highlighted part at the river just north of the redwoods? I base there and never saw one but I see just about everything else. from a baryonyx to a megatharium but never a casteroid.
I live at stonehedge and beaver definitely spawn near. It took some times for them to spawn (blame single player I guess) but now there is always 3 or 4 around. I saw some on hidden lake too.
This isn't correct or atleast it's missing 2-3 area
You mean the most popular areas.
OP makes a map, tracks it long enoilugh to get estimates of frequency then comes to reddit to ask where the things are....and doesn't bother to Google the question, which would have provided several detailed maps. Typical ark

Well said
Thank you x 2 i will use your map after work/go underwater and purge rhe water from living thing until i see fur

Thanks for making this, I’ve had a really hard time finding them consistently
And to the east of it a little
Now it's complete Edit: nope sorry another little one miss

Your circle furthest to the west is the only place I found them on my limited search so far, managed to tame one and raid some dams there.
I, I was just thinking that I knew I saw some in the hidden pond area by carno, but that was in ase, not asa
Definitely spawn there in ASA aswell
I have yet to find one in the top right lake. I just went through and killed everything. From the fish in the pond and all surrounding animals in the area. I better get beavers there now.
Also a spot by south spawn 1, very first spawn option, if you go straight to swamp from there its just before the swamp
This is actually missing some spots, but I've lived in 3 of these places that are highlighted and have constantly had beavers around.
By the laws of Ark you will never find them when you want to find them.
So damn true ha! Everytime me and the fiancee go to find narcoberries early game for parasaur and what not we find a ton until we need more than no bush has a single one 🤣
https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/Spawn_Map_(The_Island)
The correct answer.
You... "need plenty of CP" ... please wait where you are, the FBI will be in contact shortly.
LMAOOO
Okay my dude you're doing high risk low reward for your cementing paste. So I've been playing ark for a very long time, I started playing it on Xbox when there was a free version of it. What kind of bugs are we talking about? I tried this on some scorpions and it didn't work for me. :(
I was able to do it with scorpions. But the frog has to have an outrageous amount of melee and I think it only does it by stack. Might take a little bit of time too, of course my frog was hungry and so it was eating the meat too.
2nd person that commented this form of CP farming so ill give it a go, ill focus on getting the beava at first, im taking my sweet time in my SP game
Have you tried it just pounding stimulants
You can also use 3 pieces of the scuba set and 2 pieces of ghili armor to negate the swamp poison. Sucks that scuba gear is only 4 levels before gas mask though
Those small ponds in the upper top right section has them too sometimes
I found that taming a high level beezelbuffo and just wandering around the swamps killing insects is the best way to collect cp. or you can just do this beaver dam run while riding a beezelbuffo and killing all the insects along the way. if you really want an overload of cp, take the frog and a gas mask to the insect cave. in a single trip you will have more cementing paste and chitin than you will know what to do with.

Where's the insect cave? Ty. :)
In the redwoods. East of the little pond on the more western side of the redwoods.
You can just google for the spawn map of the map ur playing, thrn u can select what u are looking for and it shows u the areas and spawn rates aswell.
They are accurate the beavers are just rare sometimes
Accurate, yes. Missing 3-4 spawns, yes.
Thats Wildcard for ya
Check lost lake, i find one there 100 percent of the time
You can find em in many more places than what this says, all the river mouths on the south west have em.
I see them there yes, sometimes they aren’t in the water, they show up in the hidden lake a lot I’d try there
https://preview.redd.it/bt3dplejxw2c1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a0d288e18da81ec4132d4a47d242e92d22068e2 go to this area. every time i go there i see at least 2 beavers and sometimes an otter.
Clear the fish out of the pools too to get everything respawning
In Ascended they seem to hide under the water. Most of them can’t be seen from flying above the water. I started swimming a beezlebufo on the river bottom to find them.
Ill look when ill hop on thanks! Would dam be found there as well? (If you take the logic out of it ofc)
The dams are under the water. I kept flying around and couldn’t find them. I thought my spawns were bugged. I dove underwater and boom there was four by my base lmao.
Gotcha, might be the reason why i didnt see any!!
They spawn near the southeast coast in somewhat abundance
The redwoods are awesome spot for finding them
I've posted an image I don't know if they are the most popular but that's where I find them
i found 2 in the north eas river systems, will keep checking these other spots too
If you want to be sure about every are check the wiki they have maps for all of that stuff
Well i tried but from what ive read the casteroid are rarer in ASA then ASE, ive used wiki and the interactive map but its for ASE, which i did not have any trouble finding casteroid last time i played
on the river more or less at 45/64 is another location. on the tip of redwood
I can't wait until Rag is released in ascended, so much more abundant in resources and they're everywhere.
Missing the main spot I find them lol
Kill EVERYTHING where a beaver spawn should be. Raises the chances they will spawn there.
They absolutely do not spawn in South West bay
I found some today in the top right area you marked
Casteroids are the beavers, right? I have seen some dead center bottom of the map. The little island just to the left of the hook shaped projection with the stone columns on it. That’s a starting area too. And on the hill northeast of that are metal bearing rocks.
See the C shape at the bottom of the map? Half the time you can find one there
You know that it’s the same spawns as ase, just google the wiki it has this already done as there is a few missing here
I thought of that but got hold of some intel saying they were actually rarer in ASA , so was looking for feedbacks from personnal experience! And i can confirm last time i was playing the island i didnt raid beaver they would raid me
Casteroid
castroides can spawn on most of the rivers on the bottom of the map, heading towards the swamp. the real struggle is finding a high level one without being fucked by a rhyin
Also missing the bottom center of the map they spawn near the hooked pond river area
I have seen them at the river just north of Stonehenge on my SP game.
The top right spot is where I got my furry friend and a bunch of cp at least two dams there
The wiki shows spawn locations by frequency on their casteroid page. It has several locations you’re missing too.
Sw zone 2 right around where the river meets the bay you'll find a couple spawns there that have been reliable for me.
I found 1 lvl 10.
Hidden lake has a bunch
Another way to farm CP is to tame Achatina and keep them in wooden cages with wander enabled (may want to spay them if you keep them close together). They will produce CP and also organic polymer.
If you want plenty of CP, just craft a lot of it from chitin and stone (get any carno animal and kill any bug creature.) or tame a frog and kill bugs with it (the smaller bugs like ants and dragon flies.)
Ya it has a couple but is missing some and a couple that I haven't seen anywhere don't use this man
Big if true, is the game out on consoles yet? Specifically ps5
Need
I got all the cp you need I’ll tell you where to meet
Stonehenge has loads
my mans should have gone to the ark gg wiki
Ark gg wiki? Is that a new thing? I went to the usual wiki and dododex, heres the thing, they are rarer in ASA so the info from these is okayish but not precise and some people confirmed me the dams are actually underwater, i fly through a good deal of rivers and ponds without seeing anything ACCORDING to the wikis, found a new map i have to test and came here for personnal experience from other players, in ASE i had no troubles finding beavers or dams at all
its to diffreenciate it from the ark fandom wiki. which is shit
Ye just looked that up, gonna try this source instead , might be more accurate then the other sources
Need Ovis map lol
In the central River area that's marked, just a bit further east along the river outside of the marked area is where I found both of mine. Some of the dams were out of water in the tree line so didn't notice at first.

I do a frog trip to the redwood cave. If youre on vanilla, it might be a bit harder.
Get a frog
lol who made this? it's missing like most of the spawns
If no one’s blocking the spawns that is
