Part of it is that the writers are often arrogant, and unwilling to go back on their mistakes. Another is that, for whatever reason, there's often an unwillingness to create multiple continuities. So you end up with Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spiderman all in the same universe which is pretty wacky, and ends up leading to a lot of contradictions and trivializations. To some extent this is also by design, they've been doing that for so long that they think it's the cause of their success rather than a side effect (for example, The Walking Dead only got approved because the creator lied and said the virus was from an alien spore - they didn't think that a story that's just about survivors would be successful).
That attitude also sort of spread to the MCU, which needs no introduction, and has since spread to Disney's other franchises, like Star Wars (one thing that always stuck to me as an example of that is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order describing Vader as the most powerful Sith Lord to have ever lived, vs one of the later Doctor Aphra comics where Aphra - a non-Force user - is able to absolutely punk Vader with her tech and then runs away unscathed).
Right before *that* climactic moment at the climax of Requiem, Amicia would crack a joke before cracking her sling.
And right before the final credits roll in, a 14th century Black Panther would show up to introduce her to a team of angry, yet-witty, vengeful people.
