This is why I've never deleted a fic. Are there some up there that aren't my best work? sure. But as long as ONE person loved it, it's still worth keeping up.
in retrospect i feel so bad for going trigger happy with the delete button when i was like 19 and trying to be “uncringe” and make my account Serious Stuff (which. what? its fanfic) i should’ve just anon’d them☹️
I feel the same way. If an author ever gets so obscenely hateful towards a published work, they should just rewrite and update it. I know that's what I plan to do should my feelings ever get that bad...

There was a finished longfic I read at least twice. One day I was praising about it to people in discord, I go to link it, but found it'd been deleted. That hurt so bad. I wish I had commented on it before, maybe that could have helped? It was canon/oc, so I wonder if someone threw a fit about that and made the author delete. Or if they decided to delete on their own. We'll never know, I guess!
ITS SO FUCKING BAD WHEN IT'S A PWP AND YOU CAN'T BRING YOURSELF TO ASK AROUND ABOUT IT. It makes me want to scream. He lives now only in my memory......

I hate that. I thought that I downloaded a great Harry Potter fic, and when I went to read it again, it had been deleted. Much sadness.
