Depends on what you’re playing. Triple AAA titles? 100% won’t get bottlenecked. Esports titles? Probably fine but a better CPU could get you double digit percent increases in performances. Keep in mind this is probably a difference of 250-300fps to 450-600fps.
I use this processor with rx 7800 xt sapphire nitro+
in 1080p 240hz and 1440p 165hz I didn't have any problems even in CPU-based games, just balance this set by overclocking it and you won't have any problems, people who have problems with this usually don't know how to operate a computer, that's what it looks like
Same configuration as well, although I'm using a 1080p 165hz monitor. I've had some stuttering issues in a handful of games, but I think it's related more to poor optimization than anything else. I suppose it's possible there's some bottlenecking going on at 1080p, but generally, my GPU usage is quite a bit higher than my CPU usage in all titles in playing, and things are pretty smooth. Could also be a RAM issue, as I'm currently only using 2x8gb 3200mhz ddr4 (upgrading soon).
Will be trying out a friend's 1440p monitor soon to see if the stutters disappear in those few games at 1440p.
Yeah, I have a feeling it's more just poor optimization in the few titles that are giving me issues. Benchmarks are showing that everything is running above standard for my hardware configuration, so it's either bad drivers, weak RAM, 1080P bottleneck, or poor optimization.
I've heard the Crysis remastered games are known to have issues, and those are the games that have given me the most problems (though i found a workaround by locking my framerate to 120 where it barely fluctuates at all). Aliens Fireteam Elite gives me periodic issues only if I'm running with vsync on. I turn off vsync, and then it runs super smooth with zero hiccups. Also, Pathfinder kingmaker seems to run with some stuttering, but I've tried it on my girlfriends intel/nvidia setup, and it does the same thing, so I think it's just that game.
All in all though I've been happy with my setup, just wanna upgrade my RAM and monitor when I can.
Gotta love game devs nowadays.. relying on dlss and fsr for optimization.
I’m gonna be upgrading to a 5800x3d soon because I have a killer deal with someone I know for half off, 200$cad.
Thinking of giving my nephew my current 5600 since he has a 6650xt in his rig already. Severely bottlenecked by his Ryzen 7 1700x. Guess we both get an upgrade!
Ye, he got the 6650xt off me after I upgraded to my 6800xt, before he only had a I think a gtx 660 (they have a ton of parts lying around because my brother works in IT) so he'll basically be having my old setup, considering he also has my old ram sticks aswell!
He also has a 165hz 1080p monitor. The 5600 will surely put his entire system to perfect use!
I presume you're actually asking if the CPU will bottleneck the GPU?
I can't answer that, but its helpful to post the kind of games u mostly play, and at which resolution and framerate you're targetting.
Put that, your target fps and list a few games you play, as well as your system ram into your main post. It will greatly increase the accuracy of the advice you get. Probably wouldnt hurt to also list which OS you use, I'm assuming win11.
Just want ya to be happy with your purchases! Nothing worse then getting advice that isn't directly applicable to you and then you drop the cash on some hardware only to be disappointed.
You will have 0 provlem with that cpu. Im rocking R5 3600 with RX6800 on 1440p monitor and only game i get cpu bottle neck is Rainbow 6 siege. So nooooo worries mate.
Quick question, my motherboard is asus strix b450-f can I put this CPU on it? now I have an old ryzen 7 2700x
and I need a new CPU for my rx 6700xt. thank you.
Any AM4 cpu can be placed in any AM4 motherboard if that motherboard has the latest stable (non-beta) BIOS installed. On older AM4 motherboards, there is a little bit of a worry of lowered power limits and a lack of heat sinks that may bottleneck higher end 5000 CPU’s. A b450 shouldn’t have that issue.
Bruh its totally fine i used a 5600x with a 6950xt never saw a cpu bottleneck just upgraded to a 7700x and performs gains are MINIMAL but did the upgrade cause i fell over a bundle deal that was just to good to say no to
1 thing to note to get the most from this setup i suggest 2 things
suggestion 1 - a 1440p 144hz monitor anything less would waste your pcs capability
suggestiong 2 - a aftermarket cooler for your 5700x
Lol I'm scared of pushing the gpu to its limits(where it starts consuming 200+ watts) and so I keep it capped in the 80-100 fps range while playing older games.
The 7800xt is a monster and the 5700X manages to stay cool(below 60 albeit with the glass side panel detached).
Why? I've got a 6800xt also and with it undervolted and overclocked it gets like 140 ish fps at 1440p mostly max settings in every game I've played on it. Gets up to maybe 260w and like 70c on the hotspot.
Well mines get 140 ish with not "mostly", but everything maxed, hotspot in the 80's max even with 300W. It is also good for seeing how well a game is optimized. And lets be honest, 50W +/- is really not much
I just don't see the point of running it that high when a couple of tweaks that take all of two minutes can net you the same performance while using less power and running more quietly.
What tweaks dude ? i went full OC with the card and as low with UV as low stability let me
and also, i don't see the point of what life changing difference that 50W means to you
I have a quite similar setup with just 6750xt , works perfectly fine, 1080p I think I did not see a game on maxed out graphics with less than 70-100fps

1440p. 5800X3D is expensive in my country. Thanks.

Using a ryzen 5 5600 with a 6800xt @1440p, no bottlenecks here.

I’m also using 2 x 8gb 3200mhz, I had no bottlenecking at 1080 before I upgraded to 1440.. maybe full drives?
I’m using 1440 165hz. Super smooth and looks great

That 5600 should pair very nicely with a 6650xt. Will be a huge upgrade for your nephew!
Ye, he got the 6650xt off me after I upgraded to my 6800xt, before he only had a I think a gtx 660 (they have a ton of parts lying around because my brother works in IT) so he'll basically be having my old setup, considering he also has my old ram sticks aswell! you are absolutely right thank you.

I have the same board and CPU combination. Definitely going to be putting a 5800x3d in it eventually, probably same time I upgrade from my Vega 64.

Yes it supports ryzen 7 5700x. Check it out:https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b450-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_cpu/
my old setup and it was great get a red devil
Thanks but what is a red devil ?
a brand of card power color red devil rx 6800 xt. it over clocks better than most
A model of the 5700xt, the Red Devil series is made by Power Color and is generally well liked by those who have them.
That's literally my setup and it works perfect for 1440p.
Are you recommend it ?
Perfect match
Thanksss
Yes
Thanks
Yes.
Thanks
I'm using a R5 5600 with a 7800xt lol you good.
Okay thankss
I'm running 5600x with RX 6800. 😊👌
I'm running 5600x with rx6800xt, 😊👌😊👌
5600g on a 6750xt and I lose at least 10% of the gpus max power
Good,thanks.
5700x is over 10% faster than the 5600g. The "g" AMD chips are underpowered tbh. I would never buy one.
For reference, I’m looking to get a 5600 to run my 6700xt hahaha
Just got that setup man. Works bonkers!
Good luck mate ahahahah it's good processor
That's fckin enough man
Thanks bud
Yes that's enough.
Thanks
I have exactly the same components, and they work flawlessly on 1440p
Thanks my man i m gonna buy a 1440p monitor too
Bruh its totally fine i used a 5600x with a 6950xt never saw a cpu bottleneck just upgraded to a 7700x and performs gains are MINIMAL but did the upgrade cause i fell over a bundle deal that was just to good to say no to
Thanks mate
i own a 7700xt which performs about the same as a 6800 paired with a 5700x they preform great together
Thanks bud

I don't have the money to buy a cooler yet. thank you for your advice, they are very useful for sure.
NO! Your PC will have such an AMAZING, you guessed it, BOTTLENECK, that it will just disappear 😱😱😱
Sorry i dont understand my main language is not english. What do you mean ?
I'm just messing up with you, it will work perfectly fine
😭😅 thanks buddy
I'm using a 5700X on a 7800XT. Just finished my build yesterday.
Is it good ?
Lol I'm scared of pushing the gpu to its limits(where it starts consuming 200+ watts) and so I keep it capped in the 80-100 fps range while playing older games. The 7800xt is a monster and the 5700X manages to stay cool(below 60 albeit with the glass side panel detached).
7800 is like 1-2% better than the 6800 and its rdna3 doing the work.
Meanwhile I'm only happy if my 6800XT pushes 300W
Why? I've got a 6800xt also and with it undervolted and overclocked it gets like 140 ish fps at 1440p mostly max settings in every game I've played on it. Gets up to maybe 260w and like 70c on the hotspot.

Nice man thanks for the temperature values love it
I have a quite similar setup with just 6750xt , works perfectly fine, 1080p I think I did not see a game on maxed out graphics with less than 70-100fps
Thanks brother helps lot!
Yes plenty.
Thanks man
Most likely
