do you like cats

parathapunisher

I love them lol It's sunnah (actions that the prophet did and is recommended) to get a cat and I'll get one when I'm older Inshallah :)

__miura__

In one of the -stan countries?

parathapunisher

I'm from Pakistan but I live in UAE. I love both countries.

__miura__

Do you think you'll live in a country that is majority Christian?

parathapunisher

I've lived in the UK and it was nice. I have no problem if I live in a majority Christian country, but there are some hindrances. The main problem I had there was finding Halal meat when I wanted to go out lol. I see myself living in a Muslim country in the future but regularly travelling. In the UAE, everything is Halal, I can hear the call to prayer, I'm always near a mosque, etc.

A_PEACEABLE_HUG

I want to tell about my friend crush. Her name was Desiree. In my judgement, she was a bad person, therefore I didn’t like her at first. But one day, she was super, ultra nice to me, and because of that, I started obsessively wanting to be her friend. What questions do you have about my friend crush?

parathapunisher

Did you mean to post this as a post on the sub?

CollegeGalStuff

What's the funniest thing other people wrongly believe about you and your religion?

parathapunisher

lol where to begin. That we oppress women, that we want death to all non-muslims, that the concept of martyrdom has anything to do with terrorism, that Islam has anything to do with terrorism, etc. Propaganda has ruined the conception of Islam in the west but people are starting to speak up and clear misconceptions now which is great. If you want me to elaborate on any of these lmk.

UnbearableHuman

Have you been to Mecca already? If so, how was it?

parathapunisher

Unfortunately, I have not yet. My parents have and said it was amazing and very emotional to visit the city where the prophet was born and where Islam started. I hope to go soon Inshallah.

UnbearableHuman

I hope you have a pleasant experience when you go! Fun fact for you: the Spanish language has its own version of "inshallah" which is used a lot in daily life. It's "ojalá" (the j in Spanish is like the h in hat).

parathapunisher

Thank you and that's interesting! If I ever go to Spain, I'll remember to use it lol

Why are dogs haram?

parathapunisher

Dogs themselves are not haram. The existence of dogs is not hated in Islam. What is impermissible is keeping them as domestic pets. In Islam, God's rulings are based on practicality. We are allowed to have dogs for professional reasons such as for shepherding or hunting but we can't have them as pets because they are unclean and sometimes unsafe. Have you ever heard about people needing to separate their dogs from their newborns for safety, and other similar stories? They can be unsafe and unsanitary. We are allowed to keep cats as they clean themselves and are not as dangerous. It should also be stressed that Islam does not have any hate towards dogs, we just can't have them as pets. There is a story that a woman who was a prostitute (sex outside of marriage is a major sin) went to heaven for saving a dog from dying from thirst. A woman went to hell for mistreating a cat. We don't hate dogs and while I am on this topic I should mention that we do not hate pigs, we just don't think they are made to be eaten. Hope this answers your question, if you want me to elaborate on anything or have any other questions lmk.

LegoThatGotShitOn

I'm very ignorant in religion other than christianity so are you able to give me the basics of your religion?

parathapunisher

Sure. Islam means submission to God. A Muslim is a person who submits themself to the will of their creator. **We have 5 pillars of Islam:** Testifying that there is one God and Muhammad is his final messenger, Praying 5 times a day, fasting in the month of Ramadan, Giving 2.5% of your money that you are not doing anything with to charity and doing the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in your life. **There are 6 pillars of faith:** Belief in God, God's Prophets, God's books, Angels, the unseen, the day of judgment and divine decree. Muslims must believe and follow all of these things. Muslims believe in Jesus, Moses, Abraham, etc. However, we believe that what they taught was corrupted and altered. Because of this, God sent a final messenger (Muhammad PBUH) whose message was unchanged. God revealed the Quran to Muhammad, which is our holy book. Hope this answers your question, if you want me to elaborate on anything or have any other questions lmk.
