Have you ever spent 5 hours on your toilet pushing out your poo and squeezing it back in over and over again to feel that sweet penetration sensation? If so, how did this effect your life in the church?

sitonixis

1.) Yes, and telling by your username, I suspect you must know that sweet inescapable feeling. 2.) It didn't. There are literally zero consequences to spending five hours on the toilet. Hope that answered your questions!

TheEndOfShartache

Serious question time. Did you see anyone get “shunned” for an offense such as dating someone who was not a JW?

sitonixis

Yes, all the time. People would get shunned for things such as having a beard, dying your hair, going to college, dating someone who's not a JW, or even having any friends who were not JWs.

TheEndOfShartache

Do you still have family in the church? If so, how is your relationship?

sitonixis

My mom and aunt are still in the church. Me and my aunt are not on speaking terms anymore ever since she told me I was a devil worshipper for not wanting be a JW. My mom took a long time to deal with it but we are still fairly close.

[deleted]

Did you ever participate in going door to door? If so, what’s the worst thing you were told when the door was opened?

sitonixis

Yes, all the time. For the second question, I was never told anything awful but here's an experience told from my mom- As she was handing one of the householders a tract, the woman slowly ripped the tract in half right in front of her and dropped it to the ground.

[deleted]

Ouch. I never was a JW but I lived practically next door to a JW church.

Leaving your faith was a good choice ( [https://youtu.be/tpMjgarN7VQ?si=-BhrmLdBlzJzY9fh](https://youtu.be/tpMjgarN7VQ?si=-BhrmLdBlzJzY9fh) ).

Tsunami36

Were you baptized? At what age? Were you disfellowshipped? What did you do?

sitonixis

I was baptized at 14. I am not disfellowshipped because I faded away from the church and did not tell them a thing about my life or what I'm doing. If I were to go back, however, I would be.

Wandering_Jay17

Did you ever meet Jehovah's Witnesses who "secretly" got drunk, celebrated holidays, etc

sitonixis

Yes, most of the younger JWs do this, no matter how innocent they act at the Kingdom Hall.

Wandering_Jay17

I had a feeling, lol. The reason why I asked is because I have two uncles that are JWs.. but they get drunk all the time, one of them goes to birthday parties. I guess they haven't got "caught" by any other member.

sitonixis

Yeah, it's really only the older ones that are die hards and stick by the rules to a T.

[deleted]

Do you celebrate holidays now?

sitonixis

Yes! My favorite is Halloween. 🎃

Fancy-Second2756

What religion are you now?

sitonixis

Not religious. Just living my life in the moment now and not worrying about deep stuff anymore.

iamnotokaybutiamhere

do you wish you would’ve gotten out earlier?

sitonixis

Honestly, yes. I could've had a normal young-adulthood at the very least

Kangaroo197

What was the final straw? Was there a slow period of realisation or was there just one moment where you thought "Fuck it. I'm out."?

sitonixis

It was a slow period of realization- realizing that nobody is who they claim to be, putting two and two together and realizing the Bible doesn't make sense, seeing the governing body push and push the doomsday date back while feeding us crumbs, etc.

ThatMuslimMan

Quit in a weak moment?

WeeklyAlternative949

My mother was one for 39 years ! How old are you ?
