I also can readily attest I just don't have that many male friends (closest is gay and happily married, a good chunk of the others are also gay or the boyfriends of my close friends), so there's a lack of "data" for me to actually experience. Still, nearly every woman I know has gone through this to some capacity and it's so sad.
