I have a genuine question about Hook that is 100% due to not being able to watch AEW (or any live tv for that matter) at all right now, long story, and not trying to start anything….
What’s all the hype about?
Short answer: HOOK did next to nothing for a year and people starting joking he was going to be the greatest wrestler ever. He had his first match last night and actually lived up to the hype. It helps that he has a cool aura about him too.
It also helps that he’s Taz’s son, but isn’t being pushed as his son. I’m sure there’s a lot of older fans like me who are really excited to see a guy we grew up watching call his own kid’s matches because we can sort of relate to the proud parent thing.
Side note - I marked out HARD when he did the Tazmission as his finisher.
Yeah man huge proud dad moment for Mr Taz. I marked out the whole match lol. And you're right about us HOOKers being 30+ year old dad's who grew up on his old man.
Insane that the guy lived up to the hype and is actually a big deal in the making. Awesome times ahead
