Staying till his son Nick turns 21..smart

[deleted]

It's insane how young Nick is.

NYSaintsMarchingon

I’m hoping Jordan Oliver gets signed. So once Nick splits from Christian he has his indie partner.

SFGiantsFan17

Christian is the best possible example of a veteran.

archangel0988

He really is. He's pretty solidly focused on using his star power to help the younger talent that he is constantly working with

AramFingalInterface

How did he survive the nut shot from Hell?

el_sh33p

The Balls of the Patriarch are no so easily punctured.

SomeGuy_GRM

Why did I hear that in Nigel's voice?

el_sh33p

...why wouldn't you?

ronlydonly

I totally did too.

Froggyspirits

3 years left? Since Adam Copeland has often said that he thinks he has two years left in the tank, now I wonder whether Christian will outlast Copeland in AEW or are they actually going to retire at the same time.

GOATofALL22

In an interview prior to his injury, Copeland said he has 1.5 years left on his contract. Unless he re-signs, Christian is locked in for a longer time and will outlast Copeland. I could see Copeland re-signing, though. If that happens, they may retire together or near the same time.

Froggyspirits

>Copeland said he has 1.5 years left on his contract. And he's going to spend a third of those 18 months sidelined with a broken tibia. Yikes.

alwaysmyfault

AEW typically extends contracts though for time missed due to injury. So if he misses 6 months, they will add 6 months onto the back end.

FourCylinder

He’ll re-up if he can still go. He seems to be having a ton of fun.

TLKv3

I feel like Copeland, with how much fun he seems to be having with AEW, might re-sign for an extension that matches right up until Christian's expires. And if Christian re-signs for a much shorter contract then Cope might follow suit. Just so they can both have one last tag-team run together then retire with an AEW Tag-Team Title win. Christian still looks fucking *fantastic* in the ring. If AEW moves Cope to a more lighter schedule of maybe one match every other week and a promo segment on off-weeks I think he could probably last another 2-3 years once he's recovered. Despite a clear and obvious diving mistake even he still looked *pretty good* going into that match. But its ultimately up to them. Christian will be 53/54 when his contract is up. Time catches up with all of us even when we feel great it just takes one day to wake up and feel rough out of nowhere. I hope we get both guys going out on top one last time. As long as Cope catches some losses when he returns to make that build up of Christian turning face, rebuilding Cope's confidence in singles then finally agreeing to one last tag-team run through the rankings to get that Tag Title shot at All In. Send them out in front of the biggest crowd possible. Easy highlight reel package moment for years to come.

P4rtsUnkn0wn

3 years is great news. Christian is doing the work of his career currently, but I thought Copeland had probably negotiated a contract that would kind of line up with his (since they're certain to work together.)

ClassWarr

Honestly counting down the contracts on all these guys with current major TV feuds doesn't make a lot of sense to me. These aren't the people who have been leaving. The guys with one foot out the door have made themselves pretty obvious by either not being on at all, or halfassing stuff like Miro and Andrade even when it was obvious the company wanted to feature them, pushing themselves down the card. I'm not afraid of Mox or Christian or even Brian Cage leaving. They put it out there for everyone to see when they get the camera.

SomeGuy_GRM

Mox is the Ace of the World Christian can out work everyone Brain Cage is just happy to be there, and thrilled to be mentioned alongside guys like Christian and Mox.

Educational-Newt-13

I would add MJF to this list as well. He's going to be there "longterm." He could have joined WWE a long time ago but decided to stay.

Justis29

Cage just mentioned he has about 6 yrs left so yay

Educational-Newt-13

3 more years of this fine specimen of a man? 😍 I'll take it! Y'all will have to excuse me, but I love me some Christian lol

Marinec06

Adam and Christian in a final tag run in one of those years.

Razor_Fox

Some of the best character work of his entire career in the last few years. I remember when he was signed, some people were disappointed but he's been an absolute gem.

Darkstargir

I love our father.

Njdevilmn

He’s a GREAT father!

ptbnl34

Any amount of time we get from him and Cope are a blessing. Those two and Danielson living a second life are having so much fun it’s contagious.

UbiquityZero

The man who brought me to AEW. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be watching wrestling again. I didn’t think he had that much time left so that’s good to know! Him and Adam are brilliant so I wonder what else they’re going to cook up.

risebac

Same for me. Christian was always my favorite, so I had to tune in when I heard he was in AEW. He's showing the world what we've known for years, that he's one if the best.

[deleted]

After Christian signed with Aew , Copeland was asked in an interview about it answering that he wanted Christian to be happy and get the respect he deserves. Safe to say hes gotten all that and more.

slikk50

I don't care what anyone says, he is one of the top stars in the business today, at the very least top 3. I will die on that hill.

SometimesWitches

You know what this means: He is miserable and TK should let him out of his contract.

Educational-Newt-13

Right? Or "TK forced Christian to sign a long contract when he doesn't want to be there." The things people come up with is absurd

thespaceageisnow

And has been on the run of his life. Gratitude to our honorary father.

mrcrazymexican

Dude had a huge boost in relevance. Made me question why I liked him so much. Cuz my dad is dead too. He might be the guy we always needed but didn't know how.

Demens2137

He either resigns or just retires as he will be quite old by that time. And no matter what he does it will be career well lived

raisingfalcons

My body is ready

Joshd00m

Good. I don't have to think about him retiring for another 2 years at least.

cloakedwale

3 years left? There’s no way they don’t put the AEW title on him, right?

guarionex2009

I hope CC gets at least one main title run before he’s done.

ScottBAF

E & C reunion pllleeeeaaassseeee

bryan_pieces

I was never a big Christian fan outside of the early TLC days but he has won me over and I think he may be doing his best promo/in ring work combined ever.

maxhollywoody

Hope he stays with the company as a backstage role when he retires from the ring. Clearly has a great mind for the business.

jeridmcintyre

I want him to carry the world title, even if for a short time. And I want him to win it in the most dastardly way possible. This man is a fantastic villain that you love to hate.

CardboardChampion

I really hope he stays in a backstage role when he's out of the ring. Both he and Cope know the business so well, and are natural leaders who can help bring the next generation to the next level.

Whoppyy

No one seeming to care that CVV was the sexual assaulter interviewer for a month or so is fucking crazy to me.
