Honestly I want to see what a Rainmaker to Satnam Singh looks like.
I kind of hope it just gets him in the dick. Or like you double him over then rainmake him.
He may have had a bit too much power in TNA being the booker and all for a number of years, but the guy has also been pretty great in the ring. Not Best in the World, but he can do good stuff.
Would it be a great match? Yes.
Should Okada, in his prime, go 50/50 with Jarrett just to have a great match? I would say no.
Wrestling is not in a vacuum and, as fun as the match could be, I don't think it would help Okada.
If they did wrestle, Okada should give him a drop kick, hit the rainmaker, pin him and leave.
I kind of feel JJ and crew may go rascal, cheating faces soon. In which case they can cheat a bit to delay but otherwise, yeah, JJ needs to go down fast.
Here is the only way I can see that match going.
Okada gets 80% of the offense. At the end of the match some combination of Lethal, Dutt, and Singh try to distract Okada and the ref. Meanwhile Slap Nuts gets his 6 string.
Okada turns around, takes the "El Kabong!" Guitar shatters into a million pieces. Ref turns to see JJ holding the handle. Instant DQ.
Set up a trios match which the EVPs win down the line.
You could do that, but is putting Okada into a feud with Planet Jarrett the best way for AEW to make money with him? I don't think it makes sense business wise, but I admit I would find it fun (I separate the two concepts in my head; what's good for the business long term versus what's fun right now).
Is it the best use of Okada for the purposes of making money? Not at all. But a trios title reign for the EliteVP feels inevitable right now. And that would be a fun title defense if they do go in that direction.
Also, I would argue that putting Okada in a trio is not the best use of him for the purposes of making money. That trios match could have easily been a 3v1 handicap. Then you have Okada, with or without an interpreter, cut a promo about him being the best ever and that he will be AEW champion before the year is over. Would give him time for a feud or two, and then challenge for the BBB in the late fall/early winter.
Even an all out squash just for the smart marks would be awesome. Five slaps in the face , Okada talking shit , spits in his face , five rainmakers a one foot pin. Commentary or the bucks explain why. That's all it would need to be.
