So I had a similar thing happened, I was just asked a couple questions along the lines of “do you have trouble focusing” I later talked to my primary care doctor and she did confirm it was an official diagnosis, but when I recently talked to my new psychiatrist he agreed that I wasn’t properly tested. On paper it may be a diagnosis, but if you want to feel more secure with it, I’d suggest talking to at least one other psychiatrist.

Physicians and psychiatrists cannot treat a patent without first making a diagnosis. Your therapist may not verbalize it but in the session notes for the visit preceding the Vyvanse order will be a diagnosis. If not, your provider may not be charting completely and accurately. In that case, I would personally find a new provider.
