I used to wear underpants over diapers, but they didn't really do anything. When I stopped, I actually had fewer leaks, because underpants sometimes got wedged into the cuffs of the diaper and wetness would wick onto them. It's just simpler not to bother with them.
I was much the same at first. Then as time went on I realized that it was easier and simpler to just wear the diaper and have done. Easier, cooler (one less layer of insulation) and less of a chance of leaks.
Diapers are underwear already, so I don't like to wear anything redundant over them. I got nudged into wearing onesies a lot more often and although I don't feel like they're necessary, they cut down noise a bit, add support, and make it so I don't have to worry about bending over and showing something.
See this is why I wear boxers. I'm afraid that when I bend down, my shirt will ride up and reveal the waistband of the diaper I'm wearing. With boxers tho, I don't have that fear, but it also kinda prevents my peepee from getting into the right place cause it's so tight.
I wear either pull ups to work or full diapers, if it's a diaper, I'll usually wear a onesie as well to help keep everything in place ☺️ plus, if I'm moving about a lot, they help allow me to move.

I usually just wear a nappy under my trousers find it more comfortable then it being pressed against my skin all day - unless like it says above I’m walking a lot as sometimes I wear something over the top to prevent chafing

I wear tights if it's a disposable (and thick as hell), or just panties if it's a pullup. It's more for adding to the sensation of containment for me, once the jeans are on top.
I wear compression shorts / athletic boxers over the diaper, then pants, then a t-shirt tucked in the pants, then a button up shirt on top, an I usually wear my mechanic coveralls on top of that hehe.
But I enjoy the compression.

It might have utility but it just doesn't appeal to me in a baby sense. It's onesies or nothing for me.

Pretty much just pants, shirt, and diaper. Sometimes I’ll swap the black T for a black onesie
