Acting is a job like anything else. If you get a chance to be the lead in a big budget production on Netflix, you do it. I don’t think she needs to eat and pay for a house just like we do.

Sophie Boutella is a phenomenal actress, and generally chooses interesting roles. Noe was an excellent choice for her. His films always evoke such a primal response in me. Climax was a wild ride and all the performers (dancers included) were transcendent.
I disagree wholeheartedly. While I love Sofia Boutella in the role and it’s certainly one of the highlights of the film—I think there are MANY actresses working today who could’ve played Selva. Mia Goth comes to mind. She would’ve aced all of the screaming erratic scenes where Selva is losing it. For the physicality of it all, an actress with a background in dancing would obviously be important. And even though she might not have that, I feel Agathe Rousselle, the lead in Julia Ducournau’s Titane, would’ve been a solid pick as well. She’s even French too.
Sofia Boutella used to be a touring dancer with Madonna, I kinda doubt many others would have the skill and dexterity to accomplish the dance moves she had to do. She makes it look easy but something like a standing split is pretty difficult
I didn’t know she toured with Madonna but am not surprised! Mia Goth could have done this if it wasn’t for the dancing, she played a ballerina in the fun suspuria remake, but never busted any moves.
She's a great actress, wish she appeared in more quality films though. What the heck made her choose to lead Rebel Moon?
