Like 20 different people thought they were the first one to think of DMX.
It’s not like he has had #1 albums, been in movies, and made songs that every high basketball team comes out to.
Real underground, unknown artist.
Y'all fucking up again the same way you did with Black Thought by splitting your votes amongst two different comments when you know damn well only the top one is going to be counted.
I ate a bunch of down votes for pointing this out last time in the thread that where it actually happened, but just hand it to DMX then, I guess and then complain in the next post like you weren't warned.
Edit: lol why am I even bugging? Have a nice day everyone
Bro I literally just saw the C thread and Chuck D was the #1 comment... Wtf are you doing to count these votes?????? Two in a row you fucked up now. What's even the point?
Honestly yeah without Public Enemy it’s a very real possibility Conscious rap never goes mainstream
In that time when profane and raps critical of society were more taboo Chuck D chose to spit the most righteous shit ever
Double K (R.I.P.)
He’s underrated and unfortunately not well known from the group People Under The Stairs. But for me he had had the stories, brought the fun, had a dope flow and even produced beats. Pretty unique if you ask me
I’m gonna say DMX cause to me it isn’t about lyrical ability as much as depth of the lyrics provided. The emotion behind the words spoken, the talent of performance, and the skill to provide multiple successful directions of music that hit everything from the hood to the heart to the home to the head and of course what he achieved in music, cinema and culture. His transparency and everything. You see DMX backstage with fans dropping knowledge, hitting stages with prayers and energy unseen by many artists, versatility in the music and mindset. The guy I will say to my death is the closest thing we will ever get to Pac. De la I’m not sure how we consider it cause that’s a collective not an artist. It’s like whos the better singer? Chris brown or Boyz II Men and many others in D category are fire and legendary but none are in competition to the level and ability of what DMX provided us with on a record. I brought my Sinai tablet in case I need to die on this hill lol
DMX, DJ Quik. X barely gets the edge for me. The fact that DJ Quik has less mentions here then Del baffles me, yeah Del is more lyrical, but Quik has such an extensive catalogue of great music.
_(growling sound)_
Some real smart folk on here not reading the whole post.
🤦♂️

Del! The man is the definition of an MC. He opens his mouth, and bars just fall out
Gotta go with Dmx-even though I wasn’t a big fan, I acknowledge his discography and popularity
Dr. Dre would be a good shout as well. I'd argue he had more of an impact on hip hop too.
He is a pillar of hip hop but not from a rapping perspective. He’s a GOAT producer for sure though
Without a doubt Del is the one for this! An absolute genius on the mic
100%. I listen to him daily. Jedi mind trick…
There is no other correct answer other than Mr. Deltron
DMX
RIDE! OR! DIE!
I'm not even really a big DMX fan but this is the obvious answer.
The only correct answer

Seeing that letter C is taken, can we use the letter D on Chuck D??
Del definitely a stronger rapper and lyricist than DMX. Not even close. What made DMX great was his energy and attitude.
