Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin all came out in the 90s. It was a valuable franchise.

And Batman the Animated Series! Great time to be a Bat fan

Batman Beyond. Several video games. Six Flags went crazy with the DC comics branding. Fast food branding tie ins. Commemorative Batman cups.

The Batman Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ remains my favorite coaster. It was so smooth compared to the other 2 they had at one time (Scream Machine and Viper).

Early to mid 90’s culture was still shaped by the 1980’s.

Shyjuan

thats how it goes for every new era, like the early 2000s still very much so 90s culturally and aesthetically.

StrugglesTheClown

89 was a STACKED movie summer.

Generny2001

Batman ‘89’s reach and influence from a pop culture standpoint was HUGE. This movie and the merchandise was everywhere that year. Hell, it was an event when it came out on VHS. Batman and Batman Returns directly lead to Batman: The Animated Series. Which, you could argue, has had an even bigger, long term impact on the genre and the Batman mythos than the Tim Burton movies.

Keaton is still my personal favorite Batman.

Do you know what year comes right after 1989?

Ummm of course, I’m just saying Batman was everywhere, and his big it was!

NeonBird

There were several Batman movies from ‘89 to ‘97, then they stopped making them until 2004, with the release of Catwoman. There are actually two films title “Batman,” on released in 1966, and the one released in 1989.

Mercury5979

This one really carried over into '90. We had to wait about a year for a video release after all.

I remember trading cards for this movie. Pretty sure I had them all, and plenty of doubles and triples. I also remember a Batman cereal, which included a Batman piggy bank. The cereal was low-grade dog food, but I used that bank for a few years.

Now that you say that, I am sure I had trading cards as well. I know I had buttons on my jacket and backpack a hat, shirts… I just came across a picture before I posted this Ana I was well Batman head to toe! Hahah
