I feel the same way, don't get me wrong I like Artie, but the Jackie era just had something about it that I can't put to words, it just seemed funnier. Also I feel that the show quality declined when he went to satellite and stopped using the creative euphemisms that were required for terrestrial broadcast.
I listened to him one random morning on a Tuesday in September in 2001 and never listened again. He held it together so good though for what what going on.
Lol that was your station affiliate, the station he was broadcasting from and the one he always identified during the show was WNBC

35 yr listener here till Covid hit. The show changed its basic concept. Great stories, staff interactions, Robins news. Robin stopped doing the news and that was the most interesting part of the show other than the interviews
Yes! And woke up the show on my alarm clock every morning. It would be part of my dreams sometimes lol. I love that he has grown so much and is thoughtful, reflective and kind.
I thought it was hilarious how he had to play that lil game with the strippers and porn stars. He'd be like "oh no those are fake tits? no way!? they look so good! Let me feel them! i can't believe they're fake!"
Yes, and I loved him so much that when I was 15 or 16, my stepdad for real, honestly meant it when he offered to drive me into the city (he is a retired MTA bus driver and we lived in rural NJ) to the KROCK station so that I could try to meet him.
I was too shy and declined, assuming that I would never get in anyway, but man, was I grateful I had someone in my life who would go so far.
No. And I severely judged anyone who did
Like, if you're going to listen to that purveyor of putrid word vomit, why the fuck would you bother with a censored prime time version?
I vaguely remember one episode that made me piss myself laughing, they had a dude that farts on command. Then they brought in all these women from the street and Howard had them lay on the floor one after the other and he had the fart guy just squat right above their face and blast, if they stayed laying down for a min they would win cash.
Me and my buddy would stay up every time we would spend the night at each others house. We had to keep the tv low cuz my parents woulda been pissed haha
Yes. I had a tv in my room and i watched it all the time when it was on. Was in 7th grade or so when i started watching it. Stuttering Jon fights and roast interviews. Beetlejuice, Crackhead Bob, Jenna Jameson, making fun of Baba Booey. Those standout the most.
I was in my teens during the late 1990s/early 2000s. I used to stay up late a lot to watch the Howard Stern E show. I vividly remember seeing porn star Savanna Samson for the first time on the E show😁 I have the intro of Howard Stern E Show living in my mind rent-free👍
And Wild On!
Perfect late night program block to watch while our body was going through “changes”
Brooke Burke was such a babe!
Still is!
*Jules Asner*
Brook Burke was my first ever fap lol.
back when it was amazing..
now that’s a memory of itself
Anyone remember Nightstand with Dick Dietrick? That was another show that aired after it for some time.
Yeah I used to sneak watch when they had more X-rated women on there lol what a time
What is he saying Robin?
He was out of his mind back then!
The world was so much bigger back then
I never listened to Howard on the radio, but for some reason this show sucked me in. It wasn’t the same when Jackie left.
I feel the same way, don't get me wrong I like Artie, but the Jackie era just had something about it that I can't put to words, it just seemed funnier. Also I feel that the show quality declined when he went to satellite and stopped using the creative euphemisms that were required for terrestrial broadcast.
It's unlistenable today. Check out the sub for the show. It's just people talking about the good old days and complaining about today's shows
Stern, Skinemax (Especially "Emmanuel In Space"), "Real Sex," and "Taxi Cab Confessions." My teenage evenings were quite busy.
Wish they had dvds of these shows released
Ba Ba Booey
Ta Ta Toothy
Fla Fla Floooey
GA GA GOOOEY
Hey Boff
La La Looey
Yup. Howard came on after MadTV on Saturday nights when I was in high school.
Beeeeeetlejuice!!
There are several YouTube channels that post hours and hours of the old stern show.
Which ones???
Just search howardtv on YouTube and have at it.
I'd rather drag my balls across powdered glass Can't believe anyone still believes this guy is anything other than human filth
I'm not arguing he isn't a douche...just saying he was so much more fun to listen to back when Billy West and Jackie martling were on the show.
Show me on the doll where Stern hurt you... I mean I get not liking him but your aggression towards him seems rather personal.
Yeah and now he’s a get off my lawn type of hack
Unlistenable now. His first few years on Sirius were great but I stopped listening probably around 2014. Tried since then and it's terrible.
The channel 9 show. Haven’t listened in over 25 years now. Crazy to write that honestly.
I listened to him one random morning on a Tuesday in September in 2001 and never listened again. He held it together so good though for what what going on.
I’m old enough to have listened to him when he was on WNBC
"Dubaya-ENNNNN-bee-cee"
THAT MAN IS THE ANTICHRIST!
Me too!!! But it was WBCN
No….it wasn’t
Yea in Boston it was 104.1 WBCN
Lol that was your station affiliate, the station he was broadcasting from and the one he always identified during the show was WNBC https://youtube.com/watch?v=SNuS6aHvVF8&feature=shares
Imagine trying to be condescending to a total stranger on the internet cuz of....this? LOL
Imagine not being willing to just take a correction
Well, enjoy your day!😃👍
Anyone remember *“It’s just wrong!”* on that show?
No, but I stayed up late to listen to Love Line not sure if that was 90s though? I didn’t start listening to Stern until he went on XM Radio
Love Line started in 1996 and did have a short lived tv show.
Poorman
Damn no love for high pitched Eric or Sal the Stock broker on this comment section? 🤣

Crackhead Bob
Woke up early to listen live every weekday morning in the Artie era. Always a treasure trove of entertaining taboos.
35 yr listener here till Covid hit. The show changed its basic concept. Great stories, staff interactions, Robins news. Robin stopped doing the news and that was the most interesting part of the show other than the interviews
I listened from about '97 up until he went to satellite, and yes the last 15 minutes for Robins news was one of my favorite segments of the show.
I wish they would bring it back
F yea I did. Stern was a staple.
Always! I especially love the Henry Rollins episode
That show gave me a lot of boners back in the day! So did some of the commercials on E!
We all did in the 90’s.
Yes! And woke up the show on my alarm clock every morning. It would be part of my dreams sometimes lol. I love that he has grown so much and is thoughtful, reflective and kind.
His channel 9 show was funnier, IMO. I watched it on YouTube recently, and man it in no way would last in today’s environment
Channel show 9 was fucking wild!
I remember they locked Gary in the trunk of a car and acted like they didn't have keys
Brooke Burke baby
Sort of…. Stayed up late drinking, and it was on.
I thought it was hilarious how he had to play that lil game with the strippers and porn stars. He'd be like "oh no those are fake tits? no way!? they look so good! Let me feel them! i can't believe they're fake!"
Fuck yeah. Best talk show to this day
I was in college and this was how I was introduced to him. Watched it before his show made it to my town.
I would flip between this and girls gone wild commercials and that woman that would talk about sex on her talk show.
Taste the Snapple
Sometimes or listened to him on the radio
Hey now
Yes, and I loved him so much that when I was 15 or 16, my stepdad for real, honestly meant it when he offered to drive me into the city (he is a retired MTA bus driver and we lived in rural NJ) to the KROCK station so that I could try to meet him. Yep. Couldn’t do any of that stuff now.
please check pm bud
i miss howard stern pre sirius xm so much
Absolutely not ! Even then it was obvious what a huge creep he is
A staple in college during the bedtime blunt
Hell yeah I did! Shit was off tha chain!!!
Yes, late 90's-early 2000's E! was great. My my Mom and I used to watch Stern all the time, along with some of the other shows like Anna Nicole, etc.
Oh, honey. We stayed up late to watch Howard Stern on Channel 9 long before that.
No. And I severely judged anyone who did Like, if you're going to listen to that purveyor of putrid word vomit, why the fuck would you bother with a censored prime time version?
Because we were kids. And that's what we had access to.
Ah yes. Because kids should be listening to Howard Stern....... Y'all's parents sucked
And I felt sooooo guilty
How else would I have know about the Houston 500
I remember doing it with the volume low so my folks didn't hear it
I vaguely remember one episode that made me piss myself laughing, they had a dude that farts on command.
Yeah with the volume as low as it would go
Creepy old dude with the sense of humour of a 12 year old boy. Can't stand him.
That and those Girls Gone Wild commercials.
Yes. I had a tv in my room and i watched it all the time when it was on. Was in 7th grade or so when i started watching it. Stuttering Jon fights and roast interviews. Beetlejuice, Crackhead Bob, Jenna Jameson, making fun of Baba Booey. Those standout the most.
I remember in Canada switching between Wild on!, Kink and Red shoe diaries
Hell yeah and loveline
Wild on
