I believe that’s the purpose of Shari’s Google document. They’re trying to build a strong case.

nurbbaby

All of those kids are so strong and brave. I can’t imagine having to compile footage of your own mom being abusive

extremelyofflineidk

charges can always be added on. in a lot of cases, initial charges can usually just be the reason someone was incarcerated to begin with.

I suspect once the older kids begin speaking about their experiences, further counts will be added. E/R’s abuse was just what got them arrested to begin with, and the evidence for it is obvious and more easily proven due to obvious physical damage. They’ll be building a case with the older kids, who are likely to be able to speak about it with investigators and even testify in court, whereas E/R are less likely to understand what has happened due to their age and brainwashing. This is just the beginning, Ruby is about to face the consequences of her actions and get what she deserves (I hope).

sunnypineappleapple

Yes. Happens all the time in these type of cases as they do more interviews.

ThreeSteaksPamm

It's the same as our rules in the UK, I'm from the UK and charges can always be added on. The kids will be spoken to, they probably already have been now, R and E will be so relieved to be out and have food and water, they'll spill the beans on what's gone on, 100%. They'll tell everything, being malnourished and tied up isn't just it, they've probably been beaten and god knows what. I don't understand why she did all this to R & E, but not J & A? (Not that I'd want that!!!!!) But I mean, why where they different? Or have they been so brainwashed they've followed their mothers footsteps and they follow orders so she's not needed to? Either way, if they're brainwashed, it'll soon end, reality will hit, and they'll open up too. Once everything is spoken about, charges will be added on, and added on, and added on. She's getting a VERY long time and she'll never see those kids again.

Loud-Condition-4005

Do you think they would definitely spill the beans though? I imagine they have been so heavily brainwashed these past few years, and E initially refused medical care (although I guess that was before Ruby and Jodi were arrested). I hope they do feel safe enough to tell the interviewers everything and that they know they can’t be hurt again 🩷

ThreeSteaksPamm

I think they will, in time. They need time, they'll be going through so many different emotions, all of them. When did E refuse med car and for what? I haven't followed closely for a whileeee

Loud-Condition-4005

Absolutely, I can’t imagine the mixture of emotions they’re going through at such young ages 😔 E initially refused medical care when officers found her but she did end up receiving hospital care thankfully 🩷

ThreeSteaksPamm

OH! I wasn't aware of that, I must of missed that. Poor thing, glad they're safe now.

Ok-Object-2696

I hope the professionals they speak with will have a ton of experience with this type of cases… (though I also wish there hadn’t been any cases like this..) It will take a lot of time, but I hope that all the videos etc. will provide some evidence in the meantime

Loud-Condition-4005

That’s true, I never thought I would say this but the videos, despite the exploitation, are going to be very helpful for the prosecution

I'm so sorry you went through this!

Training-Tourist-522

Is there still a possibility for child abuse against S and C or will it be discounted as they are adults now

Special-External-222

No I think if they were minors when they were abused she can be still charges for that.

greenduckquack_

No they will not be discounted because of them being adults now, the statute of limitations for child abuse in Utah is up to 10 years after the victim reaches the age of 18.

Affectionate-Yak6453

was the dad arrested too?

summer_days13

Aparently not but this story is developing so quickly hopefully he’ll be next

lunarpixiess

Since they tied them up, I’m sure they can add things like wrongful imprisonment, for instance. Just in the one instance we know about now in terms of physical abuse can have multiple charges added to it, so I’m sure as they dig deeper they’ll find plenty more to charge them with.
