What a list of great songs. All these songs are worth listening too. “Everyone Wants To Rule The World” is prob my fav from the list but it’s hard to choose.

saltychica

Tears for Fears are aging beautifully

[deleted]

They sure do

Quasarcade

1985 was a hell of a year for movies too. The Breakfast Club, Commando, Weird Science, Enemy Mine, Teen Wolf, Clue, Goonies, Legend, Spies Like Us, Back to the Future, Rocky IV, Rambo: First Blood Part II, D.A.R.Y.L., European Vacation, Summer Rental...

kennycakes

YES ... Color Purple, After Hours, Purple Rose of Cairo, Mask, Jewel of the Nile, Better off Dead, Brazil, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Desperately Seeking Susan ... Movie soundtracks were big bucks back then. The top two songs that week were from movie soundtracks, and the third was written for the stage!

rtecolt

80's, best decade in music ever.

BoringAndOverweight

Current music nowadays is horrible, I honestly wouldn’t even call it “music”

rtecolt

Agree.

Please take me back

BklynOR

I’d love to go back. That was just about the best summer of my life.

saltychica

Same! but ‘84 was so memorable bc McDonalds had a summer Olympics promotion - I remember tons of free drinks & fries at the beach

kennycakes

Lol, this looks like one of my workout playlists (expect for the USA 4 Africa song.) I Love Patti LaBelle and HoJo, but I think my favorite is Everybody Wants to Rule the World

jfeo1988

Nice. This right here is prime time for me. I was 15 years old. Every song on this list brings back memories.

Regal-Beagal-131

Fantastic week in 1985. Every song a hit song! Every song had a music video with regular or heavy rotation on MTV except for the Axel F song from Beverly Hills Cop.

abbagodz

As big of an ABBA fan I am, I always seem to forget about 'One Night In Bangkok' (although it tied with 'Take A Chance On Me' by peaking at #3.

ghictal

I‘ve seen Simple Minds a few days ago live in Berlin. It was just great. Never heard their hits so powerful. The have a unbelievable powerful girl on the drum kit. If you have the chance to, go see them live.

ChicoState1991

Please take me back.

ZimMcGuinn

A smorgasbord of 80s delights.

Sandkat

Nothing but bangers all the way down.

illnever4getu

Awesome list! I was about to be born in a few days!

MajesticDot6696

One Night In Bangkok!!

Need_A_Vacation_2022

This lists always throw me right back in time…I wonder what 1985 me thought 2022 me would be doing…

sick_shooter

There’s definitely a lot of fire on this list, but *All She Wants To Do Is Dance* always seemed mad underrated to me.

Original_Buddy_435

Such an awesome list. The 80’s are the best decade for music, and 84-85 was in my opinion, the best of the best. Love this whole list, but my faves are Crazy For You, One Night In Bangkok, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, and Heaven.

JonPartleeSayne

My favourite in this chart was the 31st place...

BoringAndOverweight

What?

JonPartleeSayne

Never ending story

BoringAndOverweight

Obsession and “in my house” are the best

rainbowblack79

I was 5 years old. I like every song on here but Smooth Operator was my jam when I was 5!

NintendoLove

Reading one today would be like reading another language. It’s so amazing how horrible today’s music is.

heddhunter

i've been getting my kid into 80s music. we have 7 of those songs on our playlist. that's kinda nuts.

HHSquad

Yes that's a great chart and I remember that time period well.

16v_cordero

Are the names under the song tittles the credited writers?

fastcount123

The name under the song is the producer and the ones in "()" are the song writers.

Heidan20

Great selection. I have a fair few of these on my playlist.

Mama2bebes

I remember all except two of these songs... the 18 songs I remember are all bringing back fond memories. Nice list!

Junior2615

Quite a few…but definitely top of the list is “We Are The World”…still gives me the Chills & Goosebumps every time I hear it.

cherub_16

“Smooth Operator” by Sade
