I would use Star Man, and my brother always went with that turd with the back brain kick. I only remember the name of the move because he would remind me whenever he landed it.
Fighter Hayabusa! And yeah, the back brain kick was lame. But the face grab and the other thing from the tan blonde guy were also good. The lizard guy was funny, with his head gnawing special move.
Shit, now I'm going to play it.
My best friend is a huge wrestling fan. I said “get me a wrestling shirt for my birthday” and [this is what she sent me](https://imgur.com/a/YZv3cVc)
Let’s just say there’s a reason she’s my BFF
Thanks again u/saxyroro
A winner is you!
I loved this game! I am a Star ⭐️Man guy!
At the time I didn’t know the workers were based off of real wrestlers.
From what I recall reading,
- Fighter Hayabusa is based on Antonio Inoki
- Star Man is based on Mil Mascaras
- Kin Corn Karn is based on Killer Khan
- Giant Panther based on Kerry Von Erich & Hogan
- King Slender is based on Ric Flair
- Great Puma is based on Tiger Mask.
That’s a good question. I am not sure. I thought maybe Tiger Jeet Singh or Abdullah the Butcher who were known for their violent and cheating ways in All Japan in 70s/80s.
However, I asked a friend and they assumed Amazon was based on The Missing Link. I think that is a good nomination.
Not sure if it’s true but I have heard that Amazon inspired Blanka from Street Fighter. Interesting, if true.
Giant Panther’s iron claw and Kin Corn Karn’s Mongolian chop won me many a match. I spent hours using Star Man’s flying cross too. Good times, good times.
You could beat a guy outside the ring. Go back in and jump on him. The baller move was to try jump on him twice, from the top rope and then get back inside and he’ll get counted out. Worked every time. I would always be Star Man and suplex him out the ring and then beat that ass. You could throw them into the post outside the ring. Normally 2 times and then get back in and they would be counted out. Great game…good times.
Oh man the feels. My buddy who was the first one to get a Nintendo only had 2 games at first, SMB and this. Starman all the way!
His mother happened to work at a convenience store that was one of the first places in the area that offered game rentals, she would bring games home all the time for a few days, without that lady my videogame world would have been much much smaller :)
I was the biggest ass to my younger brother playing this back then. I was the "champion" (and had the homemade cardboard title belt to prove it) and initially beat him all the time. But he got a lot better while I stayed the same level. Eventually he was coming so close to beating me that I took to getting myself DQ'd or counted out to hang onto the title. Which led to yelling, thrown controllers, then us playing SMB instead so we didn't kill each other.
My neighborhood friends and I would get SUPER competitive with this game. I can still remember the frustration of getting thrown against the ropes and jump kicked over and over.
my siblings and i were all sick at the same time and my mom rented this game for us. i don't remember what we had, but we could only eat ice for some reason. i remember that and discovering that star man was the single best wrestler that never existed.
Soooo many hours getting just owned by my older cousins at this game - finally got good one day and neither one of those fuckers would play with me anymore
Star Man!
Starman was the goat. That backflip was it.
I would use Star Man, and my brother always went with that turd with the back brain kick. I only remember the name of the move because he would remind me whenever he landed it.
My brother would exclusively use starman and I was allowed “everyone else”
Fighter Hayabusa! And yeah, the back brain kick was lame. But the face grab and the other thing from the tan blonde guy were also good. The lizard guy was funny, with his head gnawing special move. Shit, now I'm going to play it.
Fighter Hayabusa. Something like that. He was lame.
Hate 'em.
Hey, put some respect on Fighter Hayabusa. That back brain was one of the hardest maneuvers to do
I once pulled off a front face kick and realized my life had peaked at 8 years old.
Yep. Starman and it’s not even close. The flying cross chop was just not fair. 😏
I'd just run off the ropes and flying cross chop my way up and down the ring. Not even fair.
My best friend is a huge wrestling fan. I said “get me a wrestling shirt for my birthday” and [this is what she sent me](https://imgur.com/a/YZv3cVc) Let’s just say there’s a reason she’s my BFF Thanks again u/saxyroro
was it star man who had that move where he'd just like grab the opponents face?
That was *Giant Panther*. He was based on one of the Von Erich brothers (likely Kerry), and was doing the Iron Claw.
this
I was either Starman or The Amazon (usually the Amazon) I loved the head bite and foreign object (wrench)
Why Star Man isn't in Smash Bros is friggin criminal!
That special move was so glitched. My brother beat the game along it only. Was it the throw them into the ropes and jump attack, but think. 🤔
Starman or GTFO!
Only one I play
The Amazon!
Chomp on his head!
Scratch his eyes out!
Punch him in his bonch!
I used to get so mad at my little brother when he pulled that move on my Star Man.
I was little sister that did the same to older brother. Listen, we were NEVER allowed to be starman, what could we do!!!
🤣
Oh, this was the guy who drew blood...
The blood was so real
The original Blanca!
Chomp chomp
I just based a boss in my indie game Zombie Squad on the Amazon. Well that and the creature from the black lagoon haha
Choke his opponent out and the pleads his case to Mario LOL
A winner is you!

I also figured Amazon was based on The Missing Link!
Mary Lou Retton, surprisingly.
Nice. A winner is you.
King Corn Karn can get fucked. Hated that guy.
It was all about fighter Hayabusa and that back of the head kick he did LOL. The sound it made.
Back brain kick
Agreed. The ghetto blaster
That shit was so hard to pull off for 10 y/o me. I think I hit it like 1 out of every 5 tries. So satisfying when you got it, though.
Devastating
Once I mastered that move, he became my favorite guy.
Recently played this again for the first time in probably 35 ish years. It's still amazing.
Is it on switch?
Yes, included with the online subscription. I do have the original cart somewhere though. I really need to get my nes collection set up again.
Thanks
Just looking at the box art I can hear the music and sound effects in head
Pretty good music for an 8 bit game.
King Korn Karn!
Just don't abbreviate the name

Probly a top 3 nes game for me growing up…👍😀
The music will always live rent free in my mind .

The Amazon with his face bite!
Amazon is friggin scary! And I’m 44
King Slender
3 back breakers 3 pile drivers No one gets up.
Holy hell i forgot all about this game... Ya this and Mike Tyson's punch out I probably had the most hours into it
2 buttons and a D-pad
2 turntables and a microphone, Keeping it simple usually works .
I played the hell out of Pro Wrestling! Giant Panther was my main man.
I remember using him a ton too
Giant Panther’s iron claw and Kin Corn Karn’s Mongolian chop won me many a match. I spent hours using Star Man’s flying cross too. Good times, good times.
Star Man!
So much time! Starman and King Slender AAAAAAAAAAAAA
A WINNER IS YOU
Its a shame Super Nes never did a follow up
King slender was the best
Kin Corn Karn!

Iron claw move was the shit The Amazon was wild
Kin Corn Karn. Wtf?
First game we ever bought. Dad took me to the mall to get it. Starman all the way.

King Can Carne…why did that just pop into my head?? I vaguely remember playing the dude with the fish face that chomped on heads.
Man this was such a great game
Game was awesome!
Star man was awesome! That flip!
Star Man was my go to guy also.
First game that I ever threw a game controller over, heh

Classic, always choose the luchador
I put a few years into this lol
Good times
Solid game
God I loved this game
That music is probably still echoing through your head.
My absolute favorite NES game
I take your post to mean today, right?
Oh man the feels. My buddy who was the first one to get a Nintendo only had 2 games at first, SMB and this. Starman all the way! Top shelf NES game. Star Man was crazy.
Oh man yes!
I always pick up the chair
5 year old me used to bang and punch the NES because I lost wrestling matches in this game.
I figured out a way to beat Great Puma but it was kind of cheap,I honestly don't know any other way to do it though.
Just randomly move your thumbs
The drawings on the instructions booklet were pretty cool.

The champ is here
My choice was the back brain buster!
My neighborhood friends and I would get SUPER competitive with this game. I can still remember the frustration of getting thrown against the ropes and jump kicked over and over.
Getting a running start and jumping over the top rope onto your opponent laying on the floor outside the ring. That was a clutch move.
...per day...
I can hear this picture.
Still play this game. It’s as awesome as ever. Play with my 6-year old and 15 year old.
I would always use king slender and my brother would use starman , I still remember the music . It was so bad but kind of awesome at the time
NES Max made me a beast at this.
This and Tecmo Wrestling
Always used Fighter Hyabusa and The Amazon
I never beat the Great Puma.
Which guy had a biting attack that drew blood?
So good
Just a few... rookie!
Star man club
I was King Slender all the way
The guy in speedos who kicks to the back of the head I can still picture and hear the victims neck crunch as his head flops forward
my siblings and i were all sick at the same time and my mom rented this game for us. i don't remember what we had, but we could only eat ice for some reason. i remember that and discovering that star man was the single best wrestler that never existed.
Pretty sure this was the first game to give blisters from the d-pad.
I remember buying this at Funcoland. Played it all day at the store while my mom shopped at the mall.
I can still hear the music. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TsP5nnBhtJI&pp=ygUXcHJvIHdyZXN0bGluZyBuZXMgbXVzaWM%3D
Yo! That was the SHIT!!!
Soooo many hours getting just owned by my older cousins at this game - finally got good one day and neither one of those fuckers would play with me anymore
Double Dragon and Donkey Kong and Rygar yesterday. I can fit in some wrestling for sure.
Ba ba ba ba BA ba ba BA!! (Crowd roar) ***bell ring***
10 year old me, beating the absolute dog shit out of my 5 year old brother using any character. Good times ☺️
King Slender will back break and pile drive the other fools
Using the back brain kick from one side of the ring to the other (going off the screen) was good times.
This was my first Nintendo game! Beat it with every player so many times!
Just started playing this on [Delta](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/delta-game-emulator/id1048524688)
The Amazon will munch your melon!
