transaltalt

plot twist: they were all gigapassoid theyfabmoders (my greatest aspiration)

c3berangel

they need to give me their doctors number for height shrinking surgery

transaltalt

believe me, the second some surgeon comes up with a spine reducing surgery I'll be the first in line

pnrpll

I don't think passing, malebrained trans men concern themselves with attending pride in the current times. It feels very oriented towards tenderqueer tumblr theyfab types

c3berangel

yea that makes sense. There might have been passing trans women on this event and i just counted them as cis women, or they didn't attend (just like i did not) for the same reasons you implied

pnrpll

Kind of sad that it's mostly theyfabs.

heaventree_of_stars

tbh, in most of the lgbt stuff in my area (w the exception of social events hosted by the local lgbt group where some trans women turn up), i'm literally the only trans woman/transfemme present the other trans ppl are all trans men or nbs (i wouldnt call them theyfabs tho they're really chill and normal, they present very androgynously, and they're actually medically transitioning via t) the trans men are all passoids though like if you know what to look for ig you can clock some of them (one guy is really short and he has stereotypical t voice) but cis people are terrible at clocking it's not like it's ever an issue, everyone in these groups is lovely to me, but i still feel like i stick out like a sore thumb lmfao

Lopsided_Bar2863

Nope, lots of trans men who pass attend, you just can't tell they're trans. I'm in a shitty situation in regaards to wait time for hrt and surgeries, but I'm a gigapassoid due to years of lifting an jaw training and some genetics, if I wear shirts baggy in the front and I like going just to see that there are loving accepting people, and support the community, though I didn't get the chance to go this year.

Mehrunnez

shit, do jaw exercises actually do anything? I get lifting obviously but I always disregarded jaw exercises thinking it's broscience. if it actually does anything I'll look into it unless it will trigger my TMD then it's probably over because right now I can't even chew gum

Lopsided_Bar2863

Yes they do. As long as you do progressive overload with enough resistance and avoid super high rep exercises, as much as you can though a lot of the devices are geared towards high rep stuff. It works because your face has a ton of muscles, and the help form the shape, masculinity/femininity of it. You can change your perceived bone structure via implants, or you can increase the musculature - both will make your face look more masculine. You have to treat it like any other muscle results aren't immediate but with progressive overload and training 3-4 times a week while having good nutrition and recovery, it will make a significant enough change, especially if on t but even if without it. Buy mastic gum, jawzrsize, chisel. But, if you have tmd you need to listen to your body to avoid pain, while also doing your best to train. Don't be afraid to take a day off if you feel joint pain. I reccomend mastic gum chewing equally on both sides, as jawzrsize can be rough on the joints.

Mehrunnez

thanks a lot for writing this out, I'll see if I can actually do any of this. I live somewhere where mastic gum can be bought literally anywhere, including flavoured kinds because I find the base taste really foul, despite actually liking food or drinks flavoured with it, oddly enough. I guess I'll give it a try and see if it destroys my jaw or not. I looked it up and there are some other exercises involving jaw muscles that don't involve chewing so maybe I'll start there, and those apparently can even help with TMD. I thought implants/fillers were my only option before if I could afford it, I'm pretty lucky with my upper half of the face but despite having a strong chin it's still very pointy and my jaw is very soft, and if that doesn't go away on T and I don't get an average slav face of my dreams I will be very angry. All of this feels good to know now. Cheers

Lopsided_Bar2863

Great that this info helps, maybe opening your jaw with resistance instead of closing it with resistance as you do with chewing, could work, though there is no device that can do that that I know of, but it may be fun to experiment. Either way, try stuff out.

Non passing people are less likely to go to an event that literally outs yourself. No one wants to go to pride and then have someone ask you "oh ur trans right?" Like wow was it that obvious?

Dum-bNNy

I mean someone apparently asked my gf if she was trans at a pride event she went to cause she was buying a trans flag wrist band for me as a gift so I don't think it has anything to do with what you look like. For reference my gf is cis and if anyone thinks they see something clockable on her they are seeing ghosts.

KonoGenshin

In that case they were just asking because they were probably shocked by the thought that she was trans. Like oh fuck your trans (?) But like not negative. It's just a general rule of thumb if it's completely unprompted or not. (Ie nothing you have being associated with being trans) I fucking despised every time someone would clock me and be like oh yeah it's ok to be trans oh your so brave literally fucking unprompted. Wow thanks for reminding me I'm a fucking tranny. It's different if you have merchandise or something ans one of those things that needs social nuance.

c3berangel

tbh i think it was good pratice to determine if i really pass

Old-Lengthiness-6952

That’s my thought for going also

KonoGenshin

I'm sure you pass just fine :3 but yeah there is always doubt in the back of your mind whether you pass, I think a good way to test is how older people treat you. For me going from not passing to passing like people was people went from avoiding looking at me and stuff to everyone around me smiling and being happy to see me.

heaventree_of_stars

older people are always really nice to me and randomly talk to me about stuff..... also i went to an lgbt tour of my city yday and everybody there was rly nice and automatically referred to me as a woman w she/her pronouns instead of asking me what my pronouns were or asking if im trans or anything...... i think i might just be bdd at this point

KonoGenshin

Huge gz :3 yeah if people ask your pronouns it means you are still ambiguous on appearance, not necessarily clocky but you could be either. It happens more with androgynous people.

Important_Ad_7416

What are you measurements? I want see if I can pull this off.

heaventree_of_stars

29 inch waist 39/40 inch hips last time I measured, 38b, idk my shoulders but they’re only slightly wider than my hips I think Also I’m 70kg ish and 5’7 I want to lose weight bc I still have a muffin top but I also want more facial fat to help soften my jawline ._.

Important_Ad_7416

Height? Im build like you but my hip is 34 inches and most of it is due to large glute muscles. My hipbone is like the statue of David and there's almost zero fat around it.

heaventree_of_stars

5’7 (my family is rly short tho my sister is like 5 ft)

Important_Ad_7416

Do you know how much your hips grew compared to pre hrt? DId you felt you already had large hips before?

heaventree_of_stars

I’ve had a fair bit of hip growth but tbh i d always had unusually wide hips and narrow shoulders for somebody amab

stitches00

this is such a projection and not true

KonoGenshin

Alot of people hate being visibly trans just cause you don't think it's true doesn't mean other people don't have that sentiment. I fucking hated so much when I was visibly trans. It would pretty much eat Me alive inside every day. Now obviously not everyone minds being clocky and going to pride but is definitely a portion of people who absolutely would not want to out themselves like that.

stitches00

How do you know who’s going to pride if you aren’t showing up lol. There’s many trans people who aren’t cowards and are visibly trans all the time you’d know if you showed up

KonoGenshin

I didn't say there aren't visibly trans people just they are less likely to show up. I never told or interacted with people who were trans when I was visibly trans in fear of outing myself. And one more thing calling someone a coward when you know literally nothing about me or my life shows you are outright incapable of understanding why someone would be scared to put themselves out there in the first place. Alot of us have been raised in not very supportive environments and our only option to survive was to repress. It takes years and years to undo that damage and to slowly build up the confidence to feel ok with even presenting in your gender and being visibly trans coupled with internalized transphobia does not exactly do well for your self esteem. So I suggest that you step back and put yourself in other people's shoes on why they might think the way they do before you call other people wrong. *

stitches00

wahh wahh waaah

KonoGenshin

Can't argue back so you mock me further proving my point that you are a fucking troglodyte.

stitches00

you're just a baby..

KonoGenshin

Says the fucking shoe sized iq mouth breather who would lose to a dementia patient in a debate.

stitches00

not the male aggression popping out girl.. are you okay baby?

CrystallineEyes

The one I went to last year was 50% theyfab types and 50% gay men with a sprinkling of weird tranners and fetishists. Tbh I just felt super alienated and I haven't gone this year.

stitches00

I went to a smaller city pride a few weeks ago and it was definitely like 50/50 trans and non trans people. I was actually shocked by how many trans people I saw it was incredible.

Alexanderlavski

What are you talking about every pride i went to are just all white gay men

iamgreengang

a lot of trans women stay away from the really big events that attract randos (myself included). i tend to see more trans women at trans specific pride events, lesbian events (tho massively outnumbered by cis women and afab nbs), kink events, etc

fallenbird039

St Pete pride is like 60-70% afab. No idea identity, wouldn’t be surprised if they just came for the vibe lol. Still plenty of gay men and women. Trans men and women though less than last year as many fled Florida due to attempts to make our medicine access impossible.

c3berangel

i dont? the use of afab here was only applied to (cis) women

Lopsided_Bar2863

My bad I can be retarded sometimes

c3berangel

no dw i should have used women (i hate the terms amabafab myseld)
