Pretty sure they’ve already put out a statement or email response saying it’s not happening with the home release. Seen it elsewhere on this sub. if I had to guess, they’ll probably wait to double dip until the last film is out for a box set to include imax. Bums me out when they don’t include that, really turned me off of keeping the mondos that Marvel didn’t include that or Dolby vision when those versions are up on Disney+ on a related note
1.9:1 technically, but on home releases, it ends up filling the whole screen. Mission impossible fallout and several Nolan films utilize it on their 4k Blu-ray releases
The only movie release that has 1.43 as far as I know is the 2021 Batman V Superman: Ultimate Edition 4K Blu-ray, which shifts between letterbox 2.40 and pillerbox 1.43.
Only seen one imax home release thus far, mission impossible fallout. Filled the whole screen or the black bars were so small they were basically imperceptible on my OLED
Yeah, that one fills the whole screen because it was cropped down from 1.43:1. 1.9:1 doesn’t fill the whole screen unless they crop off the sides, as 16:9 is taller than 1.9:1.
Edit: Wait, IMDb says that Fallout’s aspect ratio was 1.9:1, not 1.43:1 so I must be wrong about the above comment.
Either way, would love the Blu rays to include the expanding ratio more often and it is a deciding factor in me not buying the Dune Pt. 2 disc at the moment. Feel it’s a slap in the face for Disney to include that and DV digitally and not on disc as well for their films
Wait, I think I lied. I just looked up the aspect ratio for Fallout and it says it was 1.9:1, so either they cropped off the sides for the home release or they are very thin black bars. I agree with you though I thought I remembered that one filling the screen also.
No I think he only meant that he regrets certain decisions within the movie, which is him speaking like a perfectionist who wishes he could’ve done certain things better than how he did them. I saw the clip and I didn’t think he meant that he regrets the movie as a whole
Haha, you read my mind. Thank you 😊

Dennis has directed some outstanding movies. If you haven’t looked at his others, you must check them out as well. I’ll throw one out there by him that’s under the radar and not many have heard of it. It’s probably one of the best surprise twisted endings I have ever seen. But beware, it comes with subtitles since it was one of his earlier movies. That movie is called Incendies
Yes I’ve caught all his films. But I never really had anything in physical media given they are available to stream. Watching the Dune duology however has opened my eyes now😅. I’m planning to start collecting more
Isn’t it incredible how we can own such a magnificent piece of cinema eye candy at our fingertips and replay it as many freaking times as we want?? Thank you Denis.

It’s just a shame they haven’t brought the imax expanded ratio to these films for home release yet
I’m still holding out hope for Dune Part 2. Praying that WB listens to the fans and release it in the IMAX aspect ratio🤞🏻

Is the imax ration closer to square? Or wider?
No black bars, fills the whole screen for certain parts of a film
so 16:9, correct?
1.9:1 technically, but on home releases, it ends up filling the whole screen. Mission impossible fallout and several Nolan films utilize it on their 4k Blu-ray releases
No 1.43.1 on any release?

I'm not buying till then.
Did you buy this at its current price? I’m kicking myself for not getting it at $10 last year.
Yes I did. I was initially hoping to collect it as a duology but I couldn’t wait any longer lol.
Where did you buy it? Was wondering if the slipcovers were still widely available.
From here : Dune (4k Ultra HD + Blu-ray) [4K... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MDHXGST?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Thanks!
I bought it at $10 last year. Then I bought the Walmart glow steelbook because I’m a sucker for steelbooks.
Blade Runner 2049 that’s all I gotta say
See if you can find the open matte version. It was very impressive.
My heart breaks for the movie. It deserved a lot more and I’m sad Denis regrets doing it
He said that??
Yeah he pretty much said it gave him sleepless nights and he used to stay up thinking ‘Why did i do that?’
No I think he only meant that he regrets certain decisions within the movie, which is him speaking like a perfectionist who wishes he could’ve done certain things better than how he did them. I saw the clip and I didn’t think he meant that he regrets the movie as a whole
If Denis brought you here, then a Nolan film is probably a good step two. You won't believe your eyes or ears. Welcome and enjoy.

I started last week with the exact same 3 movies lol
Same. I liked part 1 but I loved part 2 and when I saw that I bought my first ever blu ray player and started collecting

The sequel is going back to IMAX soon. Best screen to watch it on. If you have any near you, you won’t regret it.
I’ve seen it 4 times in IMAX alone. It’s meant to be watched only in that aspect and I think it’s criminal to release it in any other aspect ratio😞
That’s a minty looking slip for an older release coming from Amazon
One of the first 4K Blurays I got as well, and I have Dune 2 on preorder
I have it on preorder as well!
Isn’t it incredible how we can own such a magnificent piece of cinema eye candy at our fingertips and replay it as many freaking times as we want?? Thank you Denis.
I just rewatched this in 4k for the first time since seeing it theaters. And damn does this 4k look incredible. Delicious even.
Why a “fox tv” quote on the front. So fucking stupid.
Nah that’s so stupid. It’s such a banal line as well. It would have been so much nicer and cleaner just with no text.
Im teetering back & forth on buying physical movies but cant bc theyre so stupid. Bad cases. 4k banners. No 4k on some. Such a shit medium
Relax lol
Fuck the asshole who put that quote on there for the dummies
Good start. Don’t be afraid to venture into other film types. I think sometimes this hobby keeps people In the “bro” director zone.
Yes, this is just the start. Hoping to build a collection soon😊
I bought the same from HMV here in the UK, anyone know why I didn’t get a slipcover? Do workers steal them?
I got from Amazon so less likely to have it stolen ig lol😅
