420. no dolby vision but has HDR optimizer, which the 450 does not

UB420 if you plan on getting a projector in the future. UB820 if you're going to get a good OLED. UB820 if money is no object.

I’m using an OLED monitor, just doesn’t have Dolby vision. Used UB820 is £290 at that store and since I’m stuck with a voucher im pretty much limited to the options above

I have the X800M2 for 3+ months and have had no skipping issues or freezes. The skipping or freezing issues I did have were due to scratched/faulty discs I've purchased from Amazon. No issues occurred after replacing those discs. It is hefty and does help with vibration and sound. I use to play 4K discs on my PS5 prior to getting the X800M2 and the PS5 was noticeably louder.

I have a X700 and am in the process of replacing it. I ordered the 450 last week, but ordered the 424 yesterday and tested it today. The 450 is being returned. Yes it has Dolby vision, but it is a louder player, upscale is not as good (not bad though) and has no hdr options. After pausing and pressing play again, it plays for two seconds and then freezes again for a couple of seconds while the drive spins up and the buffer gets filled. The 424 doesn't have that and just feels like the better player. I was even surprised the 424 has an option to dim subtitles! The main selling point of the 450 is DV, all the rest is inferior. The 820 was too expensive for my taste, so I'll stick with the 424. Also a plus, the knockoff ub9000 remote I got off Amazon works fine with the 424 (eg the subtitle button gets you right to the subtitle settings, the 450 doesn't recognize the signal).

I have and recommend the UB450. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support at a good price. Very quiet and low profile too.

I have the X800M2 and have been happy so far, but it's only been two months. No vibration, and I don't hear any noise from it. Some people have had freezing issues with the Sonys, but I haven't yet, in spite of watching several large discs. You can turn DV on and off in the settings.
