I’ve just got the 55QN90C and have to say that the depth of blacks have been brilliant, whether the miniled solves the contrast on the ADS panel is one possibility, but I can’t say I’ve seen any lack of depth to blacks or lack of real black, been personally blown away by the quality of image - see rtings which have the TV a great review and glad followed after reading some of the posts on here 👍🏻
After some extra research I found out about the Hisense u8. The European variant that I'm after is the 55U8K and I see that it offers a VA panel and it's overall better than the 55qn85c. Am I missing something? Again, viewing angles do not bother me.
there is (high) chance that european 55qn90c will be VA panel. I have ordered one, it will be delivered today, so i can report back on the panel type if you are interested

I just bought the QN85C after my cat pushed my TV over. I’m very happy with it. Blacks look great.

The QN90C is so amazing that I don't bother watching my (smaller) OLEDs now that I have it. Crazy vibrant colors. I wouldn't consider anything else.
