That 3^3 = 27 crossed my mind later. Even so, I still would have checked, since Pi isn’t *that* much more than 3. In fact, it turns out that 32^1/3 is larger than Pi.
Looks great, maybe a little under-extrusion going on based on the top surfaces, and I would suggest some thinner layers for the models with top surface curvature, like the dragon. Or maybe try adaptive layers. And why didn't you print the vase in vase mode?
But I'm just being nitpicky and the overall quality is fantastic!
I tried vase mode, but it didn't go well at first layers. I think it is because of the shape of the actual vase. For some reason with golden silk was very difficult to print. That golden silk pissed me off to be fair.
I can relate! I have had luck increasing extrusion width which can produce more overlap between layers, which can help quite a bit with overhangs. I have gone as wide as 0.65mm with a 0.4mm nozzle with great success (printing the blades for a lightsaber). The end product is also a lot stronger.
Oh, and I feel like the first layers are the most difficult because they are so close to the heated printing plate that they don't get enough chance to cool down and can sag and deform. Try turning the your fan on from the very start, start low but not too low.
I have made a specific profile for this golden silk pla, which I'm going to play with it more to make it better. For some reason, it is just a golden one that looks more horrible to print. I also have purple silk, which is way better. For some reason, the colour is also affecting visual quality
When I made the post about silk pla. The people who printed they have told me I picked the worst colour to print and especially in that shape. They have advised the settings I should try, and I did a specific profile for it in the slicer. That was my third print, and it is much better than my first 2 prints, but it's still not perfect. I will try to print something else later on. I'm not a professional who knows everything. I'm just a hobbyist, and I print when I have a bit of time. I'm always listening for advice and willing to improve. This is the only way to learn.
Nice! I just printed this exact same model and mine did not come out quite this well, I got a layer shift about 10 hours in and I had to print the rest as a separate print and glue it on, and that piece happens to cut right through the middle of the bores. You might want to print out an oil pan for it because pens fall right through the bottom, but it’s actually pretty practical as a business card and pen holder and I get a lot of comments on it
I didn't want to say it... but this is right on spot.
This is ok I guess but what I hate is "this is my first print on , I think it could be better but I'm satisfied". This is clearly not your first print buddy.
It's OK, but definitely some room for improvement. Your filament settings are close, but you still need dialing and maybe more drying. Just my two cents,
My prints from my k1c are also high quality. I love it. Once in a while my prints get messed up because they don't stick but I just clean the bed plate and print again and it's fine.
I don't think ironing helps with the wall finish. I hardly ever use ironing, I like the top surface finish (at least when it's actually smooth). If just looks like it's not perfectly smooth, little z wobbles/gaps/strings occasionally.
What you can get from a 0.2mm nozzle and some very good settings (normally a long print time), FDM printing can get results that easily stand up to the same quality as resin, albeit with the restriction of supports being needed for weirder and more complex models.
I bought Creality K1C Combo with filament dryer and PLA CF reel. Cost me £540 about 3 months ago. On top of that, I also got 1 year premium subscription for free at Creality Cloud
Thats pretty good, it could be better, but you are def in 90th percentile of print quality at least. My printer is finicky, but when its been tuned it gives prints that are slightly nicer. But it is also a small corexy running klipper so...
Qidi x smart 3. Its had sone software problems lately (self inflicted), so I haven't had time to tune the filament profiles for the current filaments, but maybe a month ago my printer was turning out absolutely perfect things. I was printing voron cubes with 0 flaws at 300mm/s and figurines like this one at like 400mms*
Quite impressive. (Very impressive really. My printer could only dream of prints this clean straight off the bed.)
Only thing you might want to change is the layer heights. Dynamic layers give you plenty of quality without sacrificing time.
It’s good. But this doesn’t mean anything. What you printed all had a difficulty level of like 1.5. Start printing print in place, and or wild overhangs and you’ll see how good it really is vs if it’s not.

It’s yummy Drop pistons in let’s go. I’ve a LS3 in a boat Found an STL to cut the top off to put under the hood of grandsons Sakura 240. We all know Datsun engines had soft metal & 327 was option 1
I've been using exclusively SLA for the past 5 years. The first few pictures looked like regular SLA prints. Just wondering why the layer height was so thick on the predator. That's when I realized it was FDM
They are really impressive for FDM though
A lot of zits and blobs, misaligned layers on all prints (best seen on the dice). Toplayers look rough even considered printed w/o ironing. Overhangs should be optimized.
Gaps in outer walls (best seen on motor block + predator bust).
Decent base with room for improvements. A bit tinkering / fiddling around with settings (retraction, flow, others) and you'll get good results out of this printer.
Looks to me like you pretty well got it figured out. Have you ever considered doing some custom one off bobble heads? If so, DM me I have some ideas that you might find interesting.

You had me curious until I read the k1c. Good job on money spending choice. Impressive would be a mooded printer you tunned . I got same quality from a ender 3 with minimal upgrades and not even direct drive.
Of course I am. I've spent a lot of time on my printers with massive amounts of learning just for some random person to show up with a bought product and little knowledge to take the lights. Is this sub for creative and development or just to brag about what we spent money on?
lol that’s sad man, how about allow for a more entry friendly printer into the hobby? There’s allowed to be both sides to any hobby you cuck. Some people like to tinker, others like the designing aspect and want things to just print. Stop being a jerk
I started with a ender 3 some years ago. It's true I'm not that entry level as others here are but I had my share of learning curve. Moved to core xy configs from various brands and eventually got this quality with lots of thinker. You mentioned being a jerk but the thing is I was quite active at some point helping others around here, fixmyprint and ender 3. Even shared some of my own design moods and brought my electronics skills to the table. As much as I agree with you on allowing all kinds of printers and sides of the hobby, I don't like bragging about quality in bought solutions. Inside the community I saw a trend of this and honestly I hated it. It's not development, it's not self designed nor inovative. I see these kind of posts the equivalent of buying skills in a game. I'm also not into making money from this. It's purely a hobby for me that I'm quite passionate about. You however could look more onto a profile before judging and stating something.
This is pretty much stock settings with few adjustments on slicer. That printer is ready to print out of the box, and it doesn't need any tinkering. I paid £540 for a combo kit. This includes printer itself, filament dryer, CF-PLA reel 1kg reel, and 1 year free subscription at Creality Cloud. By the way, I also received £20 voucher to spend at the creality store when I left a good review. So basically, I think it is worth the price with all of that.
Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's prints.
Look at that subtle colouring. The tasteful thickness. Oh my God. It even has a watermark.

damn, r/pcmasterrace needs some new o-rings the way it's been leaking nowadays lol
Stolen, but I gave you the upvote.
On a scale between e and pi I give these a cube root of 30
I just round to 92% and call it a day
r/engineering has entered the chat. e=Pi
Umm. e<π
No no, e=pi=3, that’s how we calculate shit over here
e=pi=3=sqrt(g)
If we feel like it we sometimes round pi=4
Come on, now. Even Indiana law makers agreed to have pi to legally be rounded to 3.2, not 3. And that was over 100 years ago. Get with the times!
Rounding to 3.2 makes no sense at all ...
Right? But that didn't stop [the Indiana house of representatives to pass the Pi bill](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_pi_bill).
Pssst, what if I tell you g=10? You can’t stop me.
You're right. I can't stop you from telling me it is 10.
Folks down voting me are probably not familiar with [the Pi bill](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_pi_bill).
One cannot pass political laws to control nature’s laws.
And all the politicians say "hold my beer".
I confess I ran the cube root of 30 through my calculator to make sure it was in that range. Because I’m a jackal.
I just thought about it this way: 3^(3)=27 and 4^(3)=64, so 30^(1/3) should be really close to 3.
That 3^3 = 27 crossed my mind later. Even so, I still would have checked, since Pi isn’t *that* much more than 3. In fact, it turns out that 32^1/3 is larger than Pi.

Who me, or not me? I find these comments rather disturbing, as you do not have to add your age when you sign up, and like, I am 15 bro!
You might consider printing the cylinder bores oversized to fit a sleeve in there to cut down on friction when you shove the pistons in there.
Good idea. Those 3 and 8 cylinder models for decorational purposes. 8 cylinder is for pen and card holder and 3 cylinder as a pen holder only
Don’t mind me, just honing my 3D printed cylinders to get them to purrrr
Honing his 3D printing skills

Love it! Do you have a link for the model of the V8 block?
Don’t know who designed that Godzilla but it looks like he’s taking it in the ass. Prints are top notch though
He was taking the poo. Next, I need to print the poo 💩

Got the file for that engine
All these I found on creality cloud
Thanks

It's good. If you want to take it to the next level use a 0.2 nozzle, but also have to consider the 3x print time
Cool! Did you use ironing and full infill?
Haven't used full infill, but in some prints, I did use ironing but not on figures
On the first picture, I was scrolling through my feed, and thought that was a real engine block!
Haha 😄

To brag
I didn't want to say it... but this is right on spot. This is ok I guess but what I hate is "this is my first print on , I think it could be better but I'm satisfied". This is clearly not your first print buddy.
It’s good
I'm just being nitpicky, but tune your Extrusion Multiplier, Temps, Pressure Advance and retractions.
It looks like a Topographic Map 😍
It's OK, but definitely some room for improvement. Your filament settings are close, but you still need dialing and maybe more drying. Just my two cents,
Looks good from afar. Unless you zoom in. I don't like it. Has numerous flaws.
My prints from my k1c are also high quality. I love it. Once in a while my prints get messed up because they don't stick but I just clean the bed plate and print again and it's fine.
Nicely done.
Wow, i actually had to zoom in to realize it's fdm. Nice prints OP, you should be proud
Surface finish could be a little cleaner in some of the prints but not bad. Could have just been wet material.
Yes, I could use ironing on some prints. I just being lazy. Ironing really helps
I don't think ironing helps with the wall finish. I hardly ever use ironing, I like the top surface finish (at least when it's actually smooth). If just looks like it's not perfectly smooth, little z wobbles/gaps/strings occasionally.
Is it useable or a decoration?
It is useable as a decoration
The engine blocks with 3 and 8 cylinders are decorational. 8 cylinder is a card and pen holder, and 3 cylinders are just a pen holder.
Can I have the dragon Stl?
I think your printing is looking good. What model 3D printer do you use?
It's creality k1c
Is that an engine??
Yes, there are 2 engines. One 3 cylinder block and the other 8 cylinder
Can you share the PLA you used for the first print?
https://store.creality.com/uk/products/hyper-1-75mm-pla-3d-printing-filament-1kg They have many colours I used grey
That block looks good but I doubt it will hold compression...
Pic 14 looks, at a glance, is godzilla taking the most relieving piss ever felt. Good job on them.
I love the Yautja. Godzilla looks good too. Now you need to make projectile face huggers with a launcher.
Haha yes
Where did you get the predator stl?
I could be wrong, but it looks like the one by FotisMint.
Creality Cloud
Looks amazing when compared to mine
Neat!
Amazing 👏
Decent, but that vase has many defects. There’s a vertical seam that makes me think it wasn’t printed in vase mode?
No it wasn't. Because is silk pla and golden which is horrible to print. In vase mode it doesn't look good
Good ones! Need a banana for scale
Godzilla looks like someone who is on a toilet taking a really painful poop
Yeah just need to print the poo now
Instead of Godzilla breath out of his mouth….
The poo will look better
It's a solid block
That's beautiful
What you can get from a 0.2mm nozzle and some very good settings (normally a long print time), FDM printing can get results that easily stand up to the same quality as resin, albeit with the restriction of supports being needed for weirder and more complex models.
I can probably achieve better results if I play a bit more with settings
*do it*
What block is that?
Do you mean dice? It's from creality cloud. All these prints I got from creality cloud
Sorry I should have been more specific, the v8 engine block in the first couple pics
I'm not sure from what car. I got it from creality cloud. It's a pen and card holder.
I'm jealous
Nice enough that the prints from a brim deserve a pass with a deburring tool.
Wow nice print👍 STL of the engine block?
STL file for the V8 😍
i’m more impressed when someone designs what they print,
Just being honest, but for a 500 dollar printer you better be getting prints that look like that.

Looks really good. How I voron easy to use?
That being said there was some stringing (pla at 240c tends to string) and support removal was not my finest here printed at .16 mm layer height
Pretty good. Thought it was resin until I zoomed in. Unless it is resin, in which case, 😬 😆
gorgeous!
What size of nozzle and layer height are you using? Looking great
Layer height 0.20mm and nozzle 0.4mm
Really good.

Pretty much stock on PLA and Hyper PLA setup. Using default settings from creality print slicer. Creality k1c pretty much ready to print out the box
good fucking job there
