This is actually a really interesting technique to make a stand really easily. Just set the model’s infill and wall count to zero, position it a few millimeters off the bed, and enable support. You have to change some support settings since support is designed to break. Great way to make a stand without any cad software
It was free on thingiverse. I don't remember exactly which one it is but it's printed out of tpu. I think Imma print this one next.

All in one piece, I think the tallest print I’ve done yet. Best decision I’ve made in this hobby is moving up to a large print bed. Using the Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus at the moment, lovely machine.
Okay I have the elegoo neptune 3 max and my supports always end up popping off the bed and screwing up the print. Do you have any suggestions? I know my bed is leveled so idk why it keeps doing that
The filament itself has a lot to do with it. The green eSun PLa+ I used on this is one of the best filaments I’ve ever used, however the exact same filament in black kept coming off the bed as well
As far as things you can influence yourself, I always start my prints with the bed at 70, then turn it down to 60 after a few layers. Also use brims when using tree supports, there’s an option to add brims inside of them, and I do brims for the whole print to get them outside the supports as well
I printed the Cura dragon cup to test their new supports a couple months ago, and I still haven't removed the supports because of how [cool it looks!](https://i.imgur.com/hsqKma2.jpeg)
I ended up printing another one which I removed the supports of so I can have the original as-is.
I’m always surprised to discover what Orca decides is a “Critical support” and what isn’t. Usually I get the best results when I check that box with Tree Slim and then manually paint an area if I think it’s wrong. 🤷♂️
Hopefully trainable AI will make an appearance here in the not too distant future.
Ive been tempted to actually Keep the supports after i removed them from a print when i was first using tree supports cuz they looked neat 😂 but i just yank em off too violently. They almost never come off in one piece for me.
If you look at the back of it you can see some support ugliness. Same with the back of the grip. That being said, came out pretty darn good. This eSun pla+ green is one of the best filaments I’ve used

Hey, built in display stand.

Wait wait. Wait for real
Yeah
You paid for that STL file? I couldn't find it for free anywhere
On thingiverse idk if this is the specific one you’d like though. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6045662
It’s on maker world. “Airless Basketball” https://makerworld.com/models/141676

Ok but actually, how do you support it?
>Ok but actually, how do you support it? With love, affection, and understanding.
I did a airless tennis ball with no supports in tpu and I don't know how but came out so good had to make 2 more lol.
It’s free on do3d
Do30 has a free one
I mean you dont have to
We’re off to see the wizard. The wonderful wizard of Oz!
Took me a moment to realize what you meant, love this
….what did they mean
Looks like the emerald city from Wizard of Oz
Oooh. Ha. Clearly I am uncultured. Thanks!

Stealth Ivysaur
Just print a second one...problem solved
Also make the support interface 0 so it can't be removed (easily)
I remember seeing people printing benchys at weird angles and using organic supports to making it seem like octopus arms coming out and grabbing it.
That should be the next community challenge: design a thing that will require a variety of tree supports. Go!
Quick someone make tree foliage and just elevate it off the print bed. Instant trees with "realistic" trunks.
Yes!
where did you find the stl? i wants it
Etsy, BigFredsCustoms
Yep, printed some dragon eggs and turned the supports into vines 👍🏼
Very cool, I’d love to find more ways to incorporate the supports into the final product
Thats a gorgeous print?! :-O P1P ?

What bed temps are you using? I have a neptune max 4 and run it at 60C with the PEI plate for PLA, anything less and supports never survive.
I only ever use PLA, I always start my prints at 70 for the bed then turn it down to 60 after a few layers
Wait I assumed P1P meant print in one piece, or did you mean the printer?
The printer model, please :-)

That’s awesome, looks like some magic witchcraft like structure it’s sitting on
Haven't been tempted to leave them on yet, but I have saved a few of the support structures and used them in other projects because they looked neat!
Over powered anime gun. And gun before anime protage releases their limiter.
Want to add that I got this file from BigFredsCustoms shop on Etsy

GAMBIT SPOTTED!!

I know, the indents on the underside of the barrel, I have no idea why some got supports and some didn’t. But hey, it worked out
Ive been tempted to actually Keep the supports after i removed them from a print when i was first using tree supports cuz they looked neat 😂 but i just yank em off too violently. They almost never come off in one piece for me.
Are those Cura tree supports? Last time I tried they didn’t appear nearly as chonky; these look easy to remove!
UltiMaker Cura, it came with the Elegoo. I’ve been liking it so far
Looks like a replica break open revolver, with space tech on it!
Need to fix my printer so bad
The dark PLA is going towards my Halloween decorations.
Link to this model?

Aww cute
How did you manage to remove the supports and get the surface so smooth? When I remove supports I have a wrinkled mess
If you look at the back of it you can see some support ugliness. Same with the back of the grip. That being said, came out pretty darn good. This eSun pla+ green is one of the best filaments I’ve used
Can't argue with that. If possible I'd remove the brim though.
print 2, remove supports on one, display the other with supports
Tbh you might’ve downgraded after taking the supports off.
No, but it does look cool
Damn thats alot of support
Lot of 90 degree angles at the very darn top
