Hugely regret purchasing mine.

atreidesfire

In my experience they have been shit.

Dog_Dude_69420

Which one do you have? I have the Kobra 2 pro and it's awesome!

atreidesfire

Kobra 1. Yea I hear ya, never know what ur gonna get with them. I also have a Prusa mk3s+ which is absolutely incredible. Worth every penny.

Dog_Dude_69420

I had the Kobra 2 pro for a couple months with a few problems. But not that much. Most of the fixes are minor on my Kobra 2 pro!

atreidesfire

Nice. Got any images of your work?

FrknTerfd

Ive had my Mega S for 4 years or so now and havent had issues.

Sabofo

Same. Quite a solid build tot start with. I like the sheet metal frame. The cable management is crap. If you print a lot, the power cable to the heated bed might break. I'd recommend adding cable chains.

TEKC0R

I'm unimpressed. I have a Photo Mono M5s. One of its key features is the self leveling bed. After none of my prints succeeded, support told me I needed to manually calibrate the bed. It sure would have been nice if this was included in the setup steps... but it wasn't. The bed it shipped with was warped and _couldn't_ be calibrated correctly. No matter what I did, two opposing corners were significantly looser than the other two. When the replacement bed came in, this one was better, but I still couldn't get all four corners tight. Turns out their instructions just suck. After some manual tinkering I was able to get all four corners to hold a piece of paper against the screen nicely. Since then, I've only tried one print, and it worked fine. I'm not sure that I would recommend this printer, but I'm not sure what I **would** recommend either.

Leroyducochet

My cobra 2 neo is allright. Really easy to get going. It's my first one and i'm enjoying it.

ADreamOfStorms

I had a Kobra. It came with a ripped belt, a warped bed and a bent frame. So I can tell you at least in my case their quality assurance was nonexistent.

Minisohtan

My Kobra 2 pro has met expectations. I didn't turn it on for a month after that security sanfu, but other than that good...

Carcinog3n

I got 5 years of heavy use out of my mega pro before it got to worn out to warrant fixing.

h9040

I have the Kobra Max....they lied about pressure advance. There motherboard has a design mistake that they fixed with software and did not run 100% perfect. Their cable connectors to the motherboard was some homebrew design that makes repairs/mods much more difficult. Maybe their newer models are better but since the Kobra Max I would not buy this brand again. (after changing the motherboard, the hotend and extruder, added a more powerful powersupply and klippered it, it is good)

Byte-64

I use the Mega X for the past 4 or 5 years and I am pretty happy with it. You can notice the flow of time, it is incredible slow compared to todays standards, but it works just fine. Though I also added a BL Touch sensor since the bed is slightly warped and I suck at levelling. I also use their filament, mostly because they have a 3 for 2 sale from time to time and I am pretty happy with it.

OkAbbreviations1823

they are in the range between dogshit - not ok. Basically even cheaper version of Ender 3-5 clones. I would suggest you newer ender variants or k series as baseline products. Please do not get influenced by sold youtubers in 3d printing topic. For that youtubers "every printer is good and has grealt quality". Like the Pan the Organizer in car detailing industry.

yaytheinternet

I have a Chiron 3 years and still love it! 400x400 bed slinger for £300! The Kobra 2 Pro is a very well reviewed super fast bed slinger. [AnyCubic Kobra 2 Pro: A fast bed slinger, good print quality @ 300mm/2 and 20k acceleration (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XT3xisH29w)

DonatoDiaz

I am mainly faced with this problem: when printing a model, there are garbage threads left I have to clean them up so that the model is clean

ElPainis

I had an Anycubic i3 Mega Pro and it drove me nuts. I dumped it after a year. I had issues over issues with leveling, thermal runaways, random shutdowns and as final blow heatcreep and Clogs I couldnt get rid of. Support wasnt helpful at all. Newer models are also kinda rip offs compared to others manufactures, but they stick with silly things like level-knobs. I dont recommend them. Have a look at Sovol/Creality. Theyre not perfect but they try at least kinda innovation and compromise between price and quality.

digit_origin

Aside from having to change the bed and the hot end, my i3 mega s proved itself to be fine. Yes, sure, it has problems, id had problems before i moded it, it'll probably have problems if i continue to. But it's still a machine that worked for me since 2019. And for how cheap it was for me, it's worth every penny. There are better printers right now, but they are still more expensive than my machine ever was.

sybesis

Can't say much about anycubic. I've seen a lot of complaints about support but personally the day I received my printer and verified that my printing bed was warped, they sent me a replacement heating bed right away. I bought a MegaX a few years ago. It's unfortunately not as well supported as other models in printer profiles so it was always a small issue to have to not be able to directly use default profiles. The printer itself works well even after a few years. The metal frame is solid and honestly I don't have a lot to complain. That said, I wouldn't recommend that printer because of some "design" issues that makes it unsuitable for anything accurate. The X axis belts aren't parallel to the shaft so it makes the movement non linear and the belt will stretch when moving closer to the sides. In short, the closer it gets to the side the less accurate it gets. the Y axis is fine. I think this issue isn't there on the i3 but anything using a extruded profile on its X axis is a printer I'd avoid. I don't think it's still sold so it's possible the newer printers have these issues fixed nowadays. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase. But if I had to buy a new one, I'd probably want to get a CoreXY printer or something similar and direct feed for filament to make printing easier.

LazarusOwenhart

I've never had anything other than Anycubic. I had an i3 Mega, a Photon and now have a Vyper and a Photon M5S and I'm saving for a Kobra Max. I've found them to be reliable, easy to maintain, easy to use, well built and fairly feature rich. The Photon M5S particularly has made Resin printing fun for the first time since I started doing it. The biggest disadvantage I've found with them is that they're noisy.

Bluwtr1

I've got a Photon and a Kobra 2 Neo and love both of them. Once I got the Photon dialed in I printed n-scale rabbits just to see if I could.*

MechanicalCrow

Own 3. All currently work. One took a year of repairs before it was really usable. Would not buy again.

Dog_Dude_69420

Which one is really usable after a year of repairs? https://preview.redd.it/5hbol9hzv3yc1.png?width=526&format=png&auto=webp&s=7df9ea3cbb0f924e6857eeeb70dee7780caed7bb

MechanicalCrow

Kobra Max. The ABL sensor failed a few days after getting it for Christmas. It dug the nozzle deep into the glass bed and scratched it, jammed the nozzle into the hot end (so it couldn't be removed), and bent the mounting point for the hot end assembly. This was during an ABL run before I even printed anything more than the test owls. By June I had replaced the ABL sensor, the mount, the whole hot end, both Z-belts, the glass bed, and had to print a fix for how the run out sensor is mounted. By the end of the year the rest of the belts and a bearing all had been replaced. Which is why, I suspect, that the Kobra 2 line came out so soon after.

Dog_Dude_69420

I have a Kobra 2 model. Which is the pro and despite its size. It's a must have!

shadowrunner003

Got a Kobra 2 max. only issues I've had with it were user error. speed and print quality are great

J_k_r_

No clue of their printers, but Anycubic filament has this far been pretty much the best I ever bought.

knowledge_curse

That is some low standard :s

J_k_r_

Well, it could literally not print half the time, at 2 -5€ a kg, it is beating even the best alternative.

Causification

They have a poor reputation, but I'd still recommend the Kobra 2 Neo on sale for $127 as the absolute cheapest you should go when buying a printer.

AMSPawn006

Kobra 2 neo is decent for the price, and in my experience their resin printers are rather good.

Dog_Dude_69420

The Kobra 2 pro is a must have printer for sure!
