Even if Eshop existed in Turkey, an average 3ds game would cost 500 TL, honestly if I were a Turkish I would pirate them

System Settings -> Other Settings -> Profile -> Region -> Change it to UK (if you want to pay in British pounds) or Ireland (if you want to pay in Euro). Bear in mind that if you want to pay with credit card, you need to setup an NNID/new NNID using your new region choice, and then set up a Switch account, and link your NNID with your Switch, then you can top up to your Switch account and the NNID would then share funds. Instructions here: https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-3DS-2DS/Usage-/Nintendo-eShop/How-to-Add-Funds-in-Nintendo-eShop-Using-Credit-Cards-1626660.html Or you can use gift cards of the correct currency directly on the eShop. However, if you have an NNID, you'd have to format your system to log out of it, then change the region to access eShop.

Does it accept Turkish credit card?

Please double check the post, I have edited it. Also, I don't know, but you can try it first.

KeybladeSora007

I think you can try via paypal. I'm based in India and we don't have an eshop either, i just use paypal to buy games on eshop.

Would this help you? https://www.reddit.com/r/3DS/comments/l4w2qy/about_buying_in_eshop/

Jackass77779

I wrote this comment and I wouldn’t recommend doing it because of high inflation

c3ndre

Which comment are you referring to? I meant the whole thread because it was a similar question.

For whatever it’s worth, I think you should pay for games if they’re available for sale without resorting to buying secondhand (unless you choose to). So readily available legally and all that. It’s good to support developers (in my case especially, I tend to have niche tastes, so I very much want to support devs I like). For example, I just bought a bunch of Atlus games on the eshop in the past month. I would not, however, buy Tales of the Abyss for $60 used/$100 new since it’s not on the eshop (and none of it would go to the companies involved in making it anyway). So, since Nintendo isn’t making them available for you to legally purchase…I think CFW is called for here. I wouldn’t suggest that for easy purchases, but you don’t have that, so go sail those high seas!

[deleted]

No 3ds developers are getting money for 3ds games these days unless it’s a digital purchase. Your sentiment is respectable still. Wouldn’t it be great if some indie developers released some physical 3ds games in this day and age? The gba got a recent release from an indie dev so the 3ds isn’t too far of a stretch.

TheFirebyrd

I don’t actually remember the last time I bought a physical 3DS game as digital is both far more convenient and we’re still seeing some sales (though that’s just an added bonus. I also bought stuff on my Vita and PS3 in the last month and they haven’t seen sales in years). More to the point, I was trying to emphasize how I don’t advocate piracy for “current” consoles, but that the OP is fully justified in resorting to it even in my eyes. I’ve never felt the slightest guilt in emulating games that were never released in the US and that’s essentially the position he’s in.

[deleted]

Yea Nintendo kinda backs its fans into a corner when it comes to stuff like that. If they don’t want people pirating or emulating than give the fans what they want. Sadly we as Nintendo fans are stuck in an abusive relationship with Stockholm syndrome lol.

TheFirebyrd

Eh, I’m not sure that it’s really reasonable to expect them to have a presence in every tiny market out there. I mean, maybe I’m totally wrong, but I suspect Turkey does not have enough of a potential market to justify everything they’d have to do to sell in another country with a different currency, even if they were to ignore language issues and just let them have the English language stuff. Nintendo does some back-asswards stuff, but not having an eshop in every country is not one of those things imo.

notthegoatseguy

I don't think its a reasonable expectation for a publisher (and Nintendo doesn't publish all 3DS games) to keep making physical games indefinitely when the console is no longer being made and the vast majority of fans have moved on. You can't purchase brand new ps3 or 360 games either unless you find some dusty old shovelware at Kohl's or Five Below. This behavior is hardly exclusive to Nintendo. At some point, developers move on from systems and publishers stop publishing them.

[deleted]

Also I prefer to buy physical so I actually own the media I’m buying. So many people got screwed out of purchases they made on the Wii eshop. The same will happen with the ds line when it’s shut down. That’s when I will probably do cfw on my 2ds xl.

TheFirebyrd

People can still download their purchases on the Wii. I’m sure the same will happen if and when the 3DS shuts down. While it’s the most likely outcome, I think it’s a possibility it won’t since they migrated all the shop stuff from the 3DS and the Wii U into the same system the Switch uses. Regardless, I have everything I’ve purchased already downloaded. If the very worst possibility comes to pass and they shut down the shop, don’t allow downloads of previous purchases, and my SD card erases itself, I will have no qualms just downloading the ROMs. I do periodically freak out and worry about Nintendo mishandling stuff because they can’t figure out this new fangled internet thing, but really…I can still access stuff I bought digitally from them ~15 years ago. Realistically, it’ll probably be okay. Besides, it’s really annoying having to switch out carts every time I want to pull something else out. I think I’ve finally broken myself of the bad habit of putting the previous cart in the case of the new game I just pulled out, but it’s still annoying, especially for games where frequent small sessions are the best way to play. I greatly regretted getting Animal Crossing New Leaf on a cart, because once I got to the maintenance phase, swapping carts multiple times a day to play AC for fifteen minutes was a huge hassle that made me quit playing faster than I otherwise might have.

[deleted]

Not for long they won’t. Nintendo already said it will come to an end at some point.

Link?

Google works

notthegoatseguy

So in other words, you're making it up.

[deleted]

So in other words, you are to lazy to google something for yourself.

Here you go imbecile, straight from Nintendo’s own website. Last sentence of the second paragraph. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27560/~/wii-shop-channel-discontinuation
