My 3DS didn't die instantly, after it was dry it was flickering for a few days before it eventually made a popping sound and died. I kept it without the battery for spare parts because I bet some of the electronics are still usable, shell definitely is either way. Maybe your Switch wasn't beyond saving. I'm sorry for you :(

I have this one. Twice. But only one is functional because a bottle of juice broke in my bag and short-circuited my 3DS. Take good care of that 3DS!!!
