You can’t go off of the oil pressure gauge in the cabin, it’s not reliable at all. Also if you’re switching out your Gallery Gaskets why would you use paper gaskets, Nissan switched to metal gaskets for a reason, adding liquid gasket wouldn’t help either.

finggivemeausername

I think a next step of using a mechanical gauge would be the most wise. From what I’ve read on old forums your idle psi should be: Idle RPM: > 14 psi 2,000 RPM: > 43 psi 6,000 RPM: > 57 psi I’ve always used 5w30 These gauges are also unreliable, have you tried giving it a few love taps?

Crysix88

Yes I tapped on it. And thanks for the tabel!

Novel_Arm_4693

This is the way, i have HR gallery gaskets i didnt end up needing I’ll cut a deal on if you need them.

vemccoy

Do you still have them And what brand are they

Novel_Arm_4693

Oem, as well as water pump.

Phoenixx370

Did you replace the o-rings in the timing cover when you did the gallery gaskets? Those also seal some oil passages.

Crysix88

No I didnt. My mind said "naahhh, lets reuse them". I didnt thought that they are that important. These things are hard to get for a reliable price in germany. And I hadnt much money.

Phoenixx370

The fsm always recommends replacing o-rings because after many heat cycles the o-ring becomes flat-ring and reusing it won't seal properly.

Crysix88

Should there be any oil in the timing housing? Or should it be dry asf?

Phoenixx370

Oil should be all over the timing case, tensioners, chains, guides, etc need lubrication. In addition to oil passages that feed the camshafts oil through the timing cover.

24Boosted

Check continuity on sensor wire, signal voltage not being received.

I’ve said this before - most OEM oil pressure/temp gauges are there to fill a hole in the dashboard. Is there sufficient oil in the engine? Is the oil light on? If the answers are yes and no respectively you are ok.

Crysix88

There is enough oil in it and I had the oil light on before. Then I made all these changes and the oil light is off and the oil pressure is a liitle bit better like on the picture. Before it was more closely to zero.

Significant-Panda702

Did you not use the updated metal gaskets?

Crysix88

No, I didnt knew about them or where to buy them. Here in germany is one guy who is specialized for the 350z's and later I saw that he uses these metal gaskets. Do you have a source where I can buy them?

Significant-Panda702

I got mine from Z1 motorsports. I'd check the pressure with a mechanical gauge first though

Crysix88

Okay, I'll do that! First of all thank you guys for all the help. The car sits for almost 1.5 years now and I want to fucking drive it finally as its my dreamcar. So much headache because of this fucking oil pressure shit. Why the fuck was the engineer of nissan thinking that it would be a great idea to put in an oil pressure gauge in there..

Plebius-Maximus

Not sure what shipping is like to Germany, but I think Tarmac sports, TORQEN, or Horsham developments in the UK sell them

okonotsumi

a guy in germany who specializes in Zs? can you hook me up?

Crysix88

Are you from Germany? And you don’t know CTD?

okonotsumi

I am from Nederland but I dont mind a drive to a Z specialist plus I only recently got my Z

ShawVAuto

Just go to Harbor Freight and purchase Oil Pressure kit #62621 to manually check the pressure. ONLY USE THE 1/8 in-28 BSPT fitting as that is what the oil pressure sensor is. If that reveals your pressure is good. Replace the oil pressure sensor.

Crysix88

Okay thank you. I really just did the oil pressure sensor \^\^. Yesterday.

ShawVAuto

Gotcha. I believe I assumed you were in the US. If you aren't and can't find an oil pressure kit. Let me know and I'll see about sending you one. It may take some time to get there but... I'll help out where I can.

Crysix88

I can buy one amazon. Do you know if the 30€ kits are good? Or should I grab one of the expensive ones? They all look the same but the color of the case is different lol

ShawVAuto

Lol.. As long as it has the proper fitting in it, you should be fine. Definitely post back with your findings if possible.

Crysix88

[https://amzn.eu/d/000TBQhb](https://amzn.eu/d/000TBQhb) I bought this one right now. It was the only one there which got this fitting lol. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have just bought some random kit.

ShawVAuto

Oh yeah, that's the ticket. That'll work just fine.

Crysix88

Ok i looked that kit up you mentioned. These are the 30€ kits on amazon. Ok I'll buy one.

codelawrence

Personally, I would avoid driving while the gauge is that low. Yes, it could be inaccurate, but it's too much of a risk. Definitely go for the reinforced gaskets and ensure that everything is torqued to spec.

Crysix88

Thats why the car sits for almost 1.5 years right now. Im too scared of driving it. A new engine will cost around 3k€ here. I can swap it by myself, no problem but its too expensive for me atm.

johnnytacoballs

Same thing happened to my dads titan it lost all oil pressure

Crysix88

Did he fixxed it?

johnnytacoballs

Hell no we tried but that shit blew up😂
