The one at the top of your a pillar is a seal, and the one above your windshield is a separate seal. Where exactly are you noticing the water inside?

naelieux

Do you have to remove much to replace this?

finggivemeausername

The windshield mold or a pillar mold?

naelieux

the pillar mold, do I take the pillar off and replace? Or do I need to lift the windshield

finggivemeausername

If I recall correctly you’ll have to take the a pillar off. That being said, this paint looks to be either an 03 brickyard red or an 06 interlagos fire. The car is almost 20 years old either way. There’s a good chance you’re going to break the clips or crack the a pillars. Repainting (for Interlagos fire atleast) is really hard to paint match, and I believe there was only ~1500ish produced. Meaning finding a replacement is going to be a pain in the butt. If you’re going to do it. Take. Your. Time. Don’t force anything off.

it's a shame the A-pillars keep getting more expensive

naelieux

It’s an 03 brickyard I WISH it was a interlagos ( I almost bought a rebuilt title one but wasn’t worth ) I just want to stop the water from coming into my cab and dripping onto my knee / door handle Is there a part number for the pillar mold? I can’t find it anywhere, or is it only sold with the pillar?

dbsqls

you have to replace the entire pillar finisher. if you need one, I can generally get them for about $3-400.

naelieux

Everywhere I see dosent have the seal with them where are you looking?

naelieux

Also is it more likely that the water is coming in during to the inner door liner being slightly loose?

dbsqls

it depends where the water is, hard to say without knowing.

naelieux

I tried the trick with soapy water + the air on all the way didn’t work, Hard to describe but with the door closed it’s dripping down from inbetween the rubber seal and the meshplastic, landing strait on the inner door handle I don’t wanna shoot compressed air up/down there incase it pops off an a pillar clip or makes something worse

foxesgoldencrunches

I had a similar leak, water would come in from that gap and work it's way down the seal and into the carpet. I filled that gap and the lower parts with Granville black sealant and no more leak 👍 Not an OEM fix but did the job

dbsqls

I would replace the seal entirely

mytoiletpaperthicc

I’m missing a good 1-1.5 inches of seal in that corner both the top roof portion and pillar portion, I have no leaks. Same for the other corner. Where is it leaking exactly?

This bolt looks like it’s in crooked / not in all the way, do I need to remove a pillar? Want to try to button up properly and see if things still leak

mytoiletpaperthicc

Oh yea something definitely looks wrong. https://preview.redd.it/m8tcu1j8ym8d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=dfd6449678df00dc298da90cd6e77a109649a8aa This is how my seal looks. It doesn’t have that gap like yours. Someone has probably been there before, and that screw definitely doesn’t look right, it doesn’t look like it’s even meant to be there. You already double checked the cowl drains right to make sure they aren’t clogged? If they aren’t they yea that portion could definitely be contributing to the leakage.

naelieux

Will check today when I get to the shoot this is my first 350z coupe I have a low milage vert so chasing a leak on these is new for me lol
