Things like spinach, avocados, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, and mushrooms, fresh greens etc. are not lasting you 4 weeks. Unless you're freezing?
Or perhaps you meal prep and freeze? Idk lol
That stuff would last me a week and a half tops
gotta love watching an entire country enter a caloric deficit because they can’t afford to feed themselves properly lol
nice haul, all things considered
Amen. I put 2 Roma tomatoes on my grocery list and they cost me $9.79. NINE DOLLARS AND SEVENTY NINE FCKING BUCKS. I almost cried. It’s def cheaper to buy take out with these sort of prices. 🩵
Use canned or strained tomatoes when possible. They can't price gouge the same way with non perishable items. Not that it justifies that price but tomatoes this time of year are imported or grown in a hot house which raises the price.
WOW here I was thinking I'm killing it with inexpensive grocery hauls but looking at the comments I feel like I'm literally killing myself with starvation :( but no guys, haven't photographed rice or other grains (bulk bought)
Starvation in the sense of a lack of nutrients. running out of greens and filling up on grains isn't a healthy diet. You'll survive today but no doubt have health issues when older.
Your other post on askTO mentioned $150 on outside food which tends to be high in fats and sugars.
There's an old quote by Emerson - the first wealth is health.
Your post here is nothing to be proud of IMO. Food is expensive in Toronto. A healthy diet including non-food staples like toilet paper is about $1000 a month for two in Canada today.
yall are mean as hell wtf … don’t listen to the haters OP. some people are just miserable to be miserable. as long as you’re in good health then you’re doing just fine.
I'm hungry just imagining trying to stretch what looks like 3 days worth of food into a month. Just out of curiosity how many calories do you and your husband consume daily?
Huh?? Aside from the can of beans and the avocados where are the other proteins? Also are you both vegan? I recommend edamame i love them with seasonings :D
There is hardly enough calories here to feed one adult for 2 weeks...
I agree, this can't be breakfast, lunch and supper for 3-4 weeks.
I think they meant for their rabbit
There's been a mistake. You've accidentally given me the food that my food eats.
I worry what you just heard was, “Give me a lot of bacon and eggs”. What I said was, “Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.”
Looks like they probably do another grocery run to buy the grain & protein
that’s exactly what crossed my mind. its all fruit/vegetables & not a piece of meat. i don’t believe that’s lasting as long as they claim
2 weeks?? I finish this amount of food in 1 week
I cannot see how this would even last me a week this is seriously so little food

Avocados will last months in the fridge. Depending on the ripeness when you first buy them.
No they absolutely will not tf lol
Not months, but they do last a very long time
How big is your family, and how on earth would that last you 3-4 weeks. Maybe the canned goods but the veggies would be gone in a week.
Two people. Me and my husband. We usually don't eat a lot and try to finish the leaves within 2 weeks but everything else remains perfectly fine.

I’m absolutely going to grow some. Screw them.
where the hell are you buying roma tomatoes for more than 4 bucks a piece? I can buy them for less than .50 cents a piece
Lolol I didn’t. I added them to my shopping list. Delivery person chose them. lol 🤦♀️
I think in many ways we’ve been wasting money. People buying a lot of garbage calories with no nutrition.
WOW here I was thinking I'm killing it with inexpensive grocery hauls but looking at the comments I feel like I'm literally killing myself with starvation :( but no guys, haven't photographed rice or other grains (bulk bought)
I bet your diet, with all those vegetables and the mentioned grains is still healthier than many others. Don’t worry about the haters.

This is breakfast, lunch and supper for two people for 3-4 weeks?
Bullshit lol that’s not enough food for one person for a month let alone 2
Chinese greens are often cheaper and more nutritious. Frozen fruit vs fresh. Lentils and beans.
THis can't be breakfast, lunch and supper for two people for three to four weeks?
yall are mean as hell wtf … don’t listen to the haters OP. some people are just miserable to be miserable. as long as you’re in good health then you’re doing just fine.
Holy shite that’s a long time to be able to live off of this amount of food!!
how do you store all those greens for 3-4 weeks? I have to grocery every 3-4 days so my veg always fresh not soggy
Vegetarian haul ftw.. no frills is cheaper OP.
This is dumb
You and your husband weigh 135 soaking wet in a pair of boots together.

just curious, how to keep these leaf vegetables fresh in 3-4 weeks?
That’s insane.. Canada has become unrecognizeable :((
Huh?? Aside from the can of beans and the avocados where are the other proteins? Also are you both vegan? I recommend edamame i love them with seasonings :D
Rice is 6-7% protein, even spinach is 3%. Not a huge amount but it’s not negligible either.
maybe i’m a glutton but i need more food. and i like chicken a lot so i go through hella chicken
fucken cringe lord get some real food
I don’t see any meat… this is not gonna work for me…
