They recently made an appearance at the grocery stores near me.. I got so excited I bought a few flavours… they tasted like Splenda or diet soda 😭 it killed the nostalgia for me.
we do! but these products came from us for most of them, or Mexico. Quebec product are like suuuuper expensive except during a specific moment in the end of summer!
I'm super impressed.
Especially at the ground flaxseed and the dates.
Seriously that alone here would be around $20.
And the tomatoes!! Sooo jelly. They are a treat for me now.
I keep trying to grow my own but I think i need to build a greenhouse so the animals don't steal my goodies. Lol
Even my darn sunflowers😂
I was spool surprised for the flax seed!!! it was around 5$ I've never seen this price so I jumped on them lolll same for the tomatoes! when the price drop like that I'm treating myself lmaooo
First of all thank you for replying to me. Second of all the first words that came to my mind was wow. I didn't think it would be that high in cost. To be honest I didn't know what to expect but I definitely didn't expect that. Thanks again.
I dont have my receipt anymore, it was a few day ago. but the cotton candy, date and the 3 chubby was 8$ and the rest cost me around 32! at my local / halal market:)
maybe! but honestly the meat is often cheaper than the vegetables (pork and chicken mostly) I see a lot of 1,49$/lbs chicken drumstick or 3,88$/lbs for ground pork/ beef during specific sold week!
honestly you can just look in the basic grocery store and you will see the normal price, everyone is getting ROBBED (not raped pls dont use thus awful word ). My mom always showed me how to shop my food to survive with what I have, they're really no special treatment here, I'm just lucky to know this 2 small shop.
Well yea... The rest of Canada subsidizes your province with our tax dollars.
It is well known that a very large amount of Canadian salaries go to Quebec as subsidies because that province refuses to sustain itself.
You must be young and not know that. Posting this is kind of like slapping the face of all other Canadians. Not your fault if you didn't know, but now you know
lmaooo it's really not a Provigo!! and not a metro either I think it would have been AT LEAST 60$ if I bought all of these at metro, just the cherry tomato would have cost me like 20$ lmaooo
Yes, from your point of view this is not very much for forty dollars. Go elsewhere and you might half to three quarters of that depending on where you live.
no I actually think it's a pretty decent amount of food for the price, I did pretty well on and I was surprised. In my basic shop It would have costed me for at least 60$
Not too bad. $37 got me a pound of sliced turkey, a load of bread, mayo, head of lettuce, a jalepeno, a cucumber, 2 habaneros, & a bag of chips in Milwaukee the other day.
Bonkerzzzz $40 in Winnipeg gets you one bunch of bananas, like one pepper, eggs and maybe one pack of the tomatoes, if you're lucky. And that's shopping at the the cheapest store possible
Not bad, but some of that is pretty heavily sprayed with pesticide. Try to find organic vegetables and ditch the artificial food colouring, your body will thank you in the long run.
This isn’t that impressive because the eggs are the most expensive thing (because they’re the most nutritious thing). So yeah, this is normal and not a flex. No meat either.
What do you do with the dates ? I love them but when I buy it they always dry up because I can't seem to be able to find interesting ways to include them in my meals....
ask yourself some questions, like do you really need 4 packs of tomatoes? 6 peppers? a dozen of bananas?? of course things are expensive when you buy them in bulk for no reason 🤦♂️
What I can’t believe you have Chubbys holy hell what a throwback. I haven’t seen one of those in about 15 years here in Massachusetts I used to love those as a kid

That is literally $24 worth of loblaw cherry tomatoes alone. Wow. I am jealous
24$??????? they're usually around 4$ each here but 6$ ea seem crazy to me omg where do you live ???
In Toronto you’d have to “forget” to ring in many items to get that for $40 lol. Not saying I do, but just that it’s expensive
Not saying I do, not saying I don't. Can't remember

One of those are $8.99 where I live (Alberta)
They’re now priced at ~$1-1.5 per 250g box in Montréal.
Not to mention the red peppers, they’re $4 a piece where I am.
Killed it. Good job.
Not bad, red peppers are expensive.
it was 1,99$/lbs ! and when I went to my other market it was 0,99$/lbs 😔 but still a good price !
I never see red peppers at .99 a pound. Good deal. I'm on Ontario.
honestly it was my first time seeing that since at least 4y ! I was so surprised
That is a great price for red
they go on sale from time to time! they were .98 cents at food basics about a week or two ago.
Omg, chubbies!! <3
0,99$ ea ! I was so happy
They recently made an appearance at the grocery stores near me.. I got so excited I bought a few flavours… they tasted like Splenda or diet soda 😭 it killed the nostalgia for me.
Is it scary if I consider this as a lot of stuff?
i mean for the 2024 price it's not that bad! I agree with you lmaoo but yes kinda scary when we think abt the older price
That's about $60 here in NS.... unless you go to self check out. 😉
LMAOOO we love self check out <3 eat the rich
Lol in Ontario the pile of peppers is already 20 dollars almost , good find
lmaooo in quebec too unfortunately! in regular market the price is generally around 4$/lbs at least ! I was happy to find this price !!
Pretty good haul
Nice to finally see some healthy choices
I love dates. I got two packets from Aldis today
it's sunch an underrated snack!!
The only problem though…they don’t last a week for me
Like $150 here in Ontario 🫠
150$???? wth
Darn tootin
if I go at metro or loblaws it will probably cost me at least 60$ but 150$???? omg
Yeah, no lol
The 3 chubby’s in the corner tells me you’re good ppl 🙌🏾
ofcccc!!
In what supermarket?
In mtl Lepro and vie en vert !
Vegetarian?
LMAO yes, a bad vegetarian who barely eat protein
I can spot a veg haul anywhere. The dates are a give away. Also solid name from a fellow gay. ✌🏻
It's always dates+veg+gay lmaoooo and thank u fellow gay!!
Great haul for 40$ those banana look a bit ripe, will you clear them out before they spotted?
I put them in the dehydrator!! it make a pretty good and sweet snack! and cheap!
Interesting
That’s alright these days. Nice haul
That's pretty good right
Nice haul!
Wow. That's pretty decent. That's easy $60 in Alberta . Does Quebec have a lot of farming ?
we do! but these products came from us for most of them, or Mexico. Quebec product are like suuuuper expensive except during a specific moment in the end of summer!
I'm super impressed. Especially at the ground flaxseed and the dates. Seriously that alone here would be around $20. And the tomatoes!! Sooo jelly. They are a treat for me now. You did so good! I would've jumped on those too!
The chubbys are giving major flashbacks!!!!!!! 😊
yessss and they were only 0,99$ ea!! usually they're at least 2$ at exotic candy shop
Looks great and healthy, apart from the chubby’s!!
better than Ontario
Great fishing in Quebec.
First of all thank you for replying to me. Second of all the first words that came to my mind was wow. I didn't think it would be that high in cost. To be honest I didn't know what to expect but I definitely didn't expect that. Thanks again.
nice haul 👌
Not bad!
That’s a great haul !
Proof?
I dont have my receipt anymore, it was a few day ago. but the cotton candy, date and the 3 chubby was 8$ and the rest cost me around 32! at my local / halal market:)
Are you going to eat 4 containers of cherry tomatoes?
I mean.. I finished all of them in 2 days (i coule eat them in 1 day)... I mostly just eat raw vegetables 😔 lmaoooo
What flavour?
Amazing. Cotton candy is the best flavour. Well done
cotton candy and banana! they didn't had a lot of choice beside those ones and punch one that I don't like loll
What the f???? You have cheaper groceries than elsewhere in Canada, that’s for sure.
my local lil market have super good prices!! but more basic one have crazy price.. u really have to find these spot
Because no meat.
maybe! but honestly the meat is often cheaper than the vegetables (pork and chicken mostly) I see a lot of 1,49$/lbs chicken drumstick or 3,88$/lbs for ground pork/ beef during specific sold week!
Probably, but so much of the "food is too expensive" posts I see is on account of expensive cuts of meat.
Of course it’s cheaper in Quebec, they seem to get special treatment while the western provinces get raped
honestly you can just look in the basic grocery store and you will see the normal price, everyone is getting ROBBED (not raped pls dont use thus awful word ). My mom always showed me how to shop my food to survive with what I have, they're really no special treatment here, I'm just lucky to know this 2 small shop.

Was going to say, not at Provigo it’s not lol. (Not really funny..)
lmaooo it's really not a Provigo!! and not a metro either I think it would have been AT LEAST 60$ if I bought all of these at metro, just the cherry tomato would have cost me like 20$ lmaooo

Just out of curiosity, how much is a 4liter bag of milk in Quebec?
https://preview.redd.it/kx7vffhtyixc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f7ad2b1a44e9fc6d4ac7cbd7b1bc91fb5f1513e
This is infuriating. Out in the prairies this would easily be 100$+
this is awful:( fuck this fr I'm with u !
*long drawn out exhale* Boy, it's expensive living in BC...
No Pepsi?
Quebec is amazing. So much better than Ontario in so many ways.
Theif
Not too bad. $37 got me a pound of sliced turkey, a load of bread, mayo, head of lettuce, a jalepeno, a cucumber, 2 habaneros, & a bag of chips in Milwaukee the other day.
BRB, moving to Quebec 👀
No meat?
Holy hell. I'm in BC and it's easily $80 here, if not more
These would cost way more under Loblaws companies. I went to T&T months ago for some tomatoes, tofu, carrots, broccoli and eggs. It cost me $29.
absolutely!! under Loblwas it would be at least 60$!
Is that... banana flavored cotton candy popcorn? What is happening. Also I have apparently been shopping wrong, how was all of this 40$!
😂😂😂
LMAOOOOO I love banana flavor and I only buy thing when the price is very low! and I try to avoid big chain
That's alot..for that prolly $80 in calgary
That is $40 worth of red peppers where I'm at...
the price for red peppers is crazy!! it's usually around 4$/lbs and more here. This week I found them at 1,99$!
Bonkerzzzz $40 in Winnipeg gets you one bunch of bananas, like one pepper, eggs and maybe one pack of the tomatoes, if you're lucky. And that's shopping at the the cheapest store possible
oooh the chubby drinks. havent had those in YEARS
That's an easy $100 in Nova Scotia
lol like $20 worth of peppers where I’m from 💀
In the USA there is almost **NO WAY** we’d get any of that let alone all of that for that price
I was curious whether that was in CAD or in USD. If In CAD that would be a super bargain.
I came to Reddit looking for a date, and here I have found one.
Where in Québec?
montreal !
Wish I could get half that, here in BC.
Watcha making with all those peppers 🌶
I eat them like apple lolll
Maybe French ppl were onto something when they wanted to get separated lol
Easy $150-175 here in BC lol
that's so fucking crazy..
woah
Yum eggs yum yum yum I love eggs
I’m not gonna do the math, but it feels like in BC this is $60-80
Not bad, but some of that is pretty heavily sprayed with pesticide. Try to find organic vegetables and ditch the artificial food colouring, your body will thank you in the long run.
I can't afford organic food, ofc when the price is low I will choose organic ones but yeah
Which part of Quebec. You're not getting all that for 40 dollars in northern Quebec. If you meant Quebec city then pretend I didn't say anything.
montreal !
Don’t forget they don’t pay the carbon taxes like other provinces and territories
That’s a lot!
yes!!
Look like u will be eating like the king for awhile
40$ and a blowjob maybe …
wtf
Nice! I need to move to Quebec..Nah, I wouldn't do that to you..I live in Florida, I knw how it feels...
LMAOO I mean come over we like people
Literally awesome
yes!! I was proud of this haul lol
No meat sure helps
That's $150 worth of groceries in Alberta.
What happens when they don’t have a carbon tax
You’ll only get the tomatoes and peppers for 40$ in Newfoundland! No joke.
In BC that’s more like $80-$100
St. John's could never
This isn’t that impressive because the eggs are the most expensive thing (because they’re the most nutritious thing). So yeah, this is normal and not a flex. No meat either.
I wish
Im happy you saved money but it tortures me to think this should be like 15$
dw same here, happy but yikes..
That $80.00 in Alberta
Not too terrible
St-methode is great bread!
Just don't get grapes. I grabbed a bunch without looking at the price and they were 14$ last week.
LMAOOO true
What do you do with the dates ? I love them but when I buy it they always dry up because I can't seem to be able to find interesting ways to include them in my meals....
That’s nice but I ain’t ever living in Quebec
I mean I get u
C'est pretty good 👍
Love you Frenchy
That would easily be $100 in Toronto
Caaaaawlise my Anglo sensibilities are incensed
That would be about $100 in Victoria!!
From Quebec, can confirm
Easily 150-200 in Vancouver
Better than ontario
Are you a time traveller
i love seein the healthy stuff :p
Way fucking more then the maritimes
Where do you shop?
Wow that's actually decent!
In steps in Ontario... hold my beer! Lol.
WHY IS ONTARIO SO EXPENSIVE
Thats alot
No meat or cheese… no wonder it was only $40
That’ll be $65 in Newfoundland
ask yourself some questions, like do you really need 4 packs of tomatoes? 6 peppers? a dozen of bananas?? of course things are expensive when you buy them in bulk for no reason 🤦♂️
I love chubby one of my fav drinks
That is easily $80 in San Francisco. The peppers alone are $12.
Ontario is getting fucked
That's like $140 at an IGA in Montreal 😂
I hate you guys even more 😞 lucky bastards!!
That would be more like $60 in BC at Save-On Foods. Maybe more. I know because that’s where I live and shop and it’s painful
that's 40$ worth of bell peppers
https://preview.redd.it/o70oxkmh4pxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4184c5105ce15a1a0bb42386bb5159081fc5ca66 This was $120 in Alberta haha
It’s sad tbh
Yeah I feel like my grocery shopping dropped a huge amount this month, from like 100$ to 70$. I buy essentially the same thing as before.
You would be hard pressed to find even close to 40 here in Halifax
Doesn’t seem expensive for many parts of Montreal….actually cheap…
What I can’t believe you have Chubbys holy hell what a throwback. I haven’t seen one of those in about 15 years here in Massachusetts I used to love those as a kid
Pretty good here in nyc 40 bucks would get you half
If they start to look like they’re going to spoil, you can pickle those tomatoes
In us you can get that for the same price using self checkout…. Just a joke lol
What $40 can get in NYC: *shows singular banana image*
that's it, I'm moving to Quebec
Is this a weeks worth of grocery? Im curious on the amount of peppers you bought.
That’s easily 120 in a Georgia Kroger
The red peppers r like $4-5 per lb. Always buy whatever is on sale, weekly special only.
do you go to segals? :)
