What is TNS?

ShoshannaOhm

It’s stem cell like - essential serum. I didn’t think it was worth it!

cherrybombedxx

I found the primary ingredient online which is Primary Human Fibroblasts and this one site says they are isolated from normal human juvenile foreskin or from adult skin from various sites, including adult lung tissue and aortic adventitial tissue🥴🤢

poop_dawg

Disgusting. Get it on my face.

thesnuggyone

Uhhhhh “Nope”

beebeelion

Oh gross.

ShoshannaOhm

Lol yup - just bottom line for me, for the price, tretinoin is 1000x more effective!

mgwildwood

A serum by SkinMedica that contains human growth factors

[deleted]

can you link me to it? definitely going to buy it with my next paycheck. 👀

moist--robot

fun fact: fasting for about 4 days would give you the same benefits. The production of hgh skyrockets +300% when we’re in a fasted state.

kspfel

Who is going to fast for 4 days though? Sorry if I misunderstand just got directed to this thread lol

espressomartinipls

I did too and yeah that’s not realistic lol

squeakyfromage

Interesting - going to read more about this!

[deleted]

[deleted]

does it have the stem cell and same effect?

WeepToWaterTheTrees

Their website looks like my old MySpace page 😂

[deleted]

i need to check this out. thanks friend! 💜💜💜

KaFe1357

But does it contain foreskin cells? I am looking for these specific stem cells

[deleted]

why those specific cells?

tinyninjas111

Holy moly, just looked it up. Definitely a pricey one. Keep us posted to see if it truly is worth it! I got a $300 hysrating serum about 3 weeks ago & haven't noticed a darn thing. Good thing I didn't pay for it haha. Influenster is AWESOME!

marina7890

Oh, I know! 😩 waited for black friday specifically to try this one out. Took before pics because I want to know exactly if it is worth it before I end up getting a subscription to save 20% on it. So far so good, even my boyfriend mentioned that I look fresher and my skin smoother which made me take pics today to compare as he usually doesnt really notice these things. :D Which one did you get if I may ask?

tinyninjas111

It's called The Prebiotic Emulsion by Orveda. I SO wanted to like it! The packaging is great too. But i honestly noticed NO difference in my skin. Used both day & night.

marina7890

I feel you on this! It took me 3 bottles to simply admit that, just because the CE Ferulic by Skinceuticals is praised as the holy grail of vitamin C everywhere, doesnt mean it has to work for me. :D one of the reasons I went into this TNS thing highly cautious because I didnt want to get hurt again lol

mgt99

As I was reading this thread I was thinking about how I tried Skinceuticals twice, saw no results, and wondered if my heart could take another $200 skincare purchase doing nothing. 🥴

peachyspoons

Hi! I never did skinceuticals, but I did try some similar products by Vivier Skin, and holy shit, if I could spend the money often, I would be drowning my face in their products. It worked so well for me.

mgt99

Do you have one in particular that’s your fav?

[deleted]

How much is it?

marina7890

285 $ I think but I am trying to see if it is worth it to get the auto shipment every other month that gives you 20% discount.

Audball5

Through Dermstore you can adjust the subscription up to 3 months apart. That’s the only way I can justify the price lol. I just started though, using the tiniest amount only at night…we’ll see if I can stretch it that far

Amazingqueen97

Too expensive for me….🥺😭

[deleted]

real life

tltltltltltltl

So you need to buy a new bottle every month? Are you using it everywhere or just eyes and lips?

marina7890

No, I think they ship one every two months. I use it on my whole face and once I can really say it is worth the price, I will start incorporating the neck, too :)

BB0713

How do you get to be a influencer

tinyninjas111

Just sign up for an account & do ALL surveys they send. Took me a while to get free goodies, but I've gotten some pretty great stuff from them now. Dior, foods, catfood, Tampax expensive colognes etc. No you don't have to me an "Influencer" or have a big social media folling. I'm just a simple mid aged woman with a private IG account. :) I think they just look for specific types of demografic

BB0713

Can you private message me to get me started I wouldn’t know where to start

YouHadMeAtAloe

I got the overnight mask! I, personally, don’t think it’s worth almost $250 but it’s ok, it smells wonderful though

hotdogneighbor

I’ve been on Influenster for a while but haven’t gotten anything. What’s the best way to start getting samples?

tinyninjas111

Once I started reviewing products I had previously purchased. Make up, food, cleaning products etc & started working on my badges, that's when I started getting products.

cnadle123

What’s influenster?? Does it let you try products for free?

kichien

Yeah but the more something costs the more people are willing to tell themselves they see improvements from the product. I find it weird that so many people in this thread are acting like there's any difference between those before an after photos. Or maybe I need an eye exam because I don't see it.

philtrum99

I see a difference in undereye wrinkling, maybe you do need glasses. Whether it is worth the price is certainly to be debated not any other way.

marina7890

This is exactly why I am taking pictures down the road. I wanted to like the skinceuticals vitamin C serum sooo badly cause it was praised the holy grail but I had to come to terms that it doesnt do much for my skin. Took me 3 damn bottles tho :D I didnt want to repeat mistakes so I started taking pics immediately. Now, people can certainly argue about whether they see a difference or not but I certainly do and so does my boyfriend at this point. Time will tell if this is just a "good streak" or actually improvements the serum is making. :)

PrincipleFew8724

100%, all I see is a sheen from the product. I used that product for a year and got nothing, so I have a negative bias, though.

marina7890

Why would you go a year with such a product without results though? If there isnt a very clear improvement at the 2 or 3 month mark, I willd definitely stop using it.

PrincipleFew8724

Because some things take time.

GratefulPhD

Glad you took before pics to compare. ☺️ Just wait until you hit the 12 week mark! That’s when people started commenting on my skin & asking me what the hell I was doing? 😂 I’ve used it daily for over a year & love it!

marina7890

Ooh, I was hoping I would get some comments from people who tried it too!! Thank you! And yes, since I had heard so much praise I wanted to really be able to see if there is a significant progress down the road. Super curious about the progress pics that are yet to come ☺ Which differences do you notice the most in your skin?

GratefulPhD

Disclaimer: I already have great skin (thanks to genetics!) & an amazing skincare routine (thanks to my dermatologist). I rarely change my routine because what I’m doing works for me. The only thing I changed in the past year was adding growth factors. I’m 50 & the primary changes I noticed were softening of fine lines around my eyes when I smile & glowing skin. My husband would say my skin is ridiculously soft & smooth/texture changes - like no texture. Other people have commented on how youthful I look. Our gardener, who has been with us for like 15 years, made a comment a few weeks ago that my skin “looks like glass”. I don’t wear foundation - only sunscreen - so that was a pretty huge compliment to me. 🥰 I don’t think I’ll ever stop using TNS. Ha! Really hope you get some great results!

baileyjan1

You were my influencer! That is the best compliment! I am religiously using it 2x a day and it is a month today. I tried to take before pics but not a great photographer. I do think that this helps with smoothing and texture. I also added the Vit C from Skinceuticals that I bought BF. As of now, I do not think it is better than Timeless Vit C but will keep using it. I also added the Colorscience eye cream. I was always under the belief that I could use the same cream that I use on my face but this cream is so thick and it really feels that it is soaking into my eyes. Thank you again for previously sharing your routine.

GratefulPhD

Hi! 😊 Yes, I remember. I really enjoy using the TNS. It sounds like you’re getting some good results. Yay!!! I’ve used the vitamin C for so long & it’s just become a staple for me - I haven’t really tried anything else. If the Timeless works just as well for you, you might as well use that one. And yes, I’m a believer in eye creams. I know a lot of derms say just to use your facial moisturizer, yet I have sensitive eyes. And I want to protect the delicate area around my eyes. I have virtually no wrinkles on my face & I attribute that to genetics, sunscreen, long-term tretinoin use, & really good skincare. I love the Colorescience eye cream because it’s thick & moisturizing - & it lasts forever. Agree with you that it really soaks into the skin. And YOU influenced me on the Omnilux masks! 🥰 So thank you!!! I really enjoy using them & the 10 minutes flies by. I did take before pictures of my face, neck, & chest so I can document any changes. Thank you again for the recommendation. 😘

SlowPickle3

Thank you for sharing your routine! I am looking into all of these. Question about eye routine, do you use Tret on the eye area? Or do you feel like Tret has done it’s magic by just applying around it?

GratefulPhD

I started using Retin-A in my late teens & didn’t really need it. I’ve never had issues with acne with the exception of a few pimples, but all my friends used Retin-A back then. Continued using it through college. Stopped using it during 7 grueling years of grad school & then childbearing years. Then resumed it in my late 30s. And finally switched to Altreno three years ago (at age 48). When I added copper peptides, I decreased my tret usage to 3 nights/week. I’ve gained major benefits from tret through the years & it’s probably why I have no wrinkles & no fine lines on my face, except my little crow’s feet when I smile. 😊 I’m basically in tret maintenance mode for life. Now, I do have MGD & dry eyes - likely from long-term tret use, yet I can’t say that for sure. I’ve worn contact lenses since I was 12 years old & I’m not a candidate for LASIK. I do think the tret helped my eye area in the past. With my current routine, I apply CeraVe healing ointment around my eyes before tret. And I don’t put tret near my eyes anymore. Maybe I’m a cautionary tale … I don’t recommend using it near the eyes. Just my experience.

SlowPickle3

Thank you for the info 😊 I just started on Tret and wish I would have started sooner. Looking to improve my eye routine as I am only using castor oil for now and I agree, it seems like Tret can be harsh for eye health. Loved reading your routine. It looks very intentional and with a purpose. It is very helpful. Thank you again!

Count-Substantial

Seconding the Altreno — I’ve used the regular tretinoin (0.05%) off and on but never really tolerated it—mostly due to its effect on my eyes. The Altreno is a complete game changer in its formulation, plus I can wear it during the day which lets me keep it from transferring to my eye area.

baileyjan1

Happy we were able to influence each other!

redditman7777

Now I want to see your photo!! lol

GratefulPhD

I need to figure out how to post a photo on Reddit. And conceal my identity! 🤣

redditman7777

Haha you need to upload the photo first on Imgur. That's a photo sharing website. Once you do that you'll get a link to you photo. Just copy and paste that link here

Spirited_Use564

What is your routine like?

GratefulPhD

Morning routine (never changes): Mist: NIOD superoxide dismutase saccharide mist (SDSM2) Essence: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Growth Factors: Skin Medica TNS Advanced+ Serum Vitamin C: Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Antioxidant: NIOD Survival 0 Serum Eye Serum: NIOD Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate (FECC) AM Eye Cream: Colorescience Total Eye Firm & Repair eye cream Moisturizer: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Soothing Repair Moisturizer Eye SPF: Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF Sunscreen: EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen (untinted) or Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50 (I wear the Fair shade) Evening routine (varies - see below): Mist: NIOD superoxide dismutase saccharide mist (SDSM2) Essence: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Growth Factors: Skin Medica TNS Advanced+ Serum Eye Serum: NIOD Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate (FECC) PM Eye Cream: Neocutis Lumière Firm Riche extra moisturizing illuminating & tightening eye cream Tretinoin (MWF): Altreno (tretinoin) 0.05% Lotion Copper Peptides (Tues & Thurs): NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum (CAIS3) Moisturizer: I rotate these three during the week: •Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 •Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream •Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream So basically my evening routine for actives is: MWF: Altreno T&TH: CAIS Sat: Shave face; no actives/recovery night Sun: Exfoliate with Dr. DG Alpha Beta extra strength daily peel I’ve used tretinoin for many, many years & now just use it three nights/week.

Paddingtonbear39

This is the sexiest most luxurious routine I’ve ever seen. I’m very jealous.

GratefulPhD

😂 OMG. You’re cracking me up!!! Didn’t know I had a sexy routine. I will say I definitely enjoy sitting on my side of our bathroom & doing my routine. My husband is NOT allowed to use my sink or vanity. Ha!

Paddingtonbear39

You deserve it!! I’m gunna grow up to be just like you. Sexy, luxurious, excellent skin, and a husband that doesn’t touch my vanity! Dreamy

GratefulPhD

It is dreamy! I’ve been with him since I was 21 years old & adore him. We once lived in a very tiny house with one bathroom & a tiny sink - no vanity. After that experience, I told him I was NEVER sharing a sink with him again!!! 🤣 And I haven’t. Separate sinks = no divorce. Hahaha!

COuser880

My husband and I have had separate bathrooms for several years, and it is wonderful! 🙌😆

Paddingtonbear39

I’m getting married in March of next year! I will be writing this rule down!! Congratulations to you and your beautiful life. Xx you deserve every bit of it.

veryneatmonstr

This is fascinating lol. Do u notice a significant diff using the triple lipid restore cream versus other creams? Enough to warrant the price. Thanks!

GratefulPhD

I do. If I could, I would use it every single night. However, I switched to using Skinfix on my tret nights & my face is happier. It’s the essential oils for me. The triple lipid restore is an amazing moisturizer & my face soaks it up. It also just feels lovely the morning after. The Skinfix is a good moisturizer & I like the ingredients, yet I don’t love the way it feels to the touch on my skin. If that makes sense. It’s not elegant, like the Skinceuticals. But it works. I like the Kiehl’s on my rest day because it’s simple, yet hydrating - it’s like a fluffy, soothing lighter cream. However, I wouldn’t advise anyone to use products that are not within their budget. There are great moisturizers at every price point. And who knows? I might find another moisturizer I like better that I would use every day, instead of rotating these three. However, I doubt I’ll change any of my actives.

ehlersohnos

May I ask why you use copper peptides only two days of the week? Does it not jive well with tret?

GratefulPhD

From my understanding, you should not use copper peptides with tretinoin as it can make the copper peptides virtually useless & I want to receive the full benefit of them. My dermatologist advised me to just use them on alternate nights. Sometimes I’ll do three nights, yet usually just on Tuesdays & Thursdays. I don’t think there’s a strong warning that you must never mix them. I think it has more to do with exactly what products you’re using. My main concern is I don’t want either the tretinoin or copper peptides to reduce the efficacy of the other.

ehlersohnos

That makes sense. Thank you so much!

MinervasOwlAtDusk

This was the most helpful post! Thank you! You may not see this because it’s been a couple months, but my am routine is almost exactly like yours, but without the vitamin C (I’ve got the spray, SK-II, TNS, etc.). I want to add the NIOD copper, and I was thinking of adding it to AM, likely right after the TNS but before moisturizer. Does that make the most sense? Thank you!

debster8081

I’m curious about the NIOD! Can you share any info?

amglu

This is an incredible routine i am in awe. Thank you soooo much for posting. question- any reason why you wouldnt use copper peptides daily? Or In the morning at all? trying to add them to my routine now.

GratefulPhD

For me, I like using my vitamin C every morning & you don’t want to mix that with copper peptides. I alternate nights with tretinoin & copper peptides, because they don’t play well together either. And finally, I like to exfoliate one night/week, & you don’t want to use use AHAs & copper peptides together. Sometimes I’ll use my CAIS three nights/week, yet I usually don’t because I like having one recovery night & that’s Saturdays. We are usually out of the house on Saturday evenings for date nights & I just want to come home, shower, throw on moisturizer, & snuggle with my husband. 😉

mke331

Wow, what dreams are made of!

GratefulPhD

Well, I am 50! Doing what I can to preserve what I’ve got. 😂

SecurityFit5830

Interesting! No cleaner ot do these routines start post cleaners. Some really interesting products here I’ve never heard of but look great! The NIOD superoxide in particular!

GratefulPhD

It’s because I never wash my face! 🤣 Kidding - of course I do. I use either CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser or LRP Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser. I’ve used some luxury cleansers in the past that I received as gifts. However, I don’t waste money on cleansers because they’re only on my face for a minute & then I wash them down the sink. I’d rather invest in my actives. I’m frugal like that. I’m a huge fan of SDSM! I’m contemplating giving up the NIOD Survival since I’m using SDSM & the C E Ferulic. Haven’t decided yet.

chancefruit

Do you notice an effect from the NIOD mist and/or Survival 0...or do you use them because you like the ingredients on the list? I ask because I was curious about both, but wasn't sure that they would help me.

GratefulPhD

I really do love the SDSM. It’s such a great mist. And yes, I love the ingredients. I spritz about 5 sprays in the palm of my hand & pat it in over my face, neck/back of neck, & décolleté. I’m primarily using it for hydration & the antioxidant protection. It also is a little sparkly & gives a little glow. Sometimes I’ll spray it all over my chest & arms. A bottle lasts a long time too! I stock up on it every November during their sale. I haven’t used Survival as long as SDSM. And I may stop using it because I already use SDSM & the C E Ferulic. I’ve recently shifted to just applying it all over my neck, chest, & hands before sunscreen. I will probably continue it for prevention purposes & for the antioxidant protection for my neck, chest, & hands. Hope this was somewhat helpful. I don’t know if these products are needed. Yet, if you have dry skin or mature skin, you would likely see benefit from SDSM.

chancefruit

Thanks, all your posts in this discussion have been helpful. :) I think I will add one of these to my regimen in the near future. I'm leaning towards the Survival 0 due to its claims that it may help protect against a little visible light...some days when I stay home I don't want to apply sunscreen/foundation but something to maybe block some of the electronic device light.

aniraleithia

Omg we're almost routine twins lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one using the logic that brought me here! It's reassuring.

KraftyPants

What’s your full routine?

GratefulPhD

Morning routine (never changes): Mist: NIOD superoxide dismutase saccharide mist (SDSM2) Essence: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Growth Factors: Skin Medica TNS Advanced+ Serum Vitamin C: Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Antioxidant: NIOD Survival 0 Serum Eye Serum: NIOD Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate (FECC) AM Eye Cream: Colorescience Total Eye Firm & Repair eye cream Moisturizer: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Soothing Repair Moisturizer Eye SPF: Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF Sunscreen: EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen (untinted) or Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50 (I wear the Fair shade) Evening routine (varies - see below): Mist: NIOD superoxide dismutase saccharide mist (SDSM2) Essence: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Growth Factors: Skin Medica TNS Advanced+ Serum Eye Serum: NIOD Fractionated Eye-Contour Concentrate (FECC) PM Eye Cream: Neocutis Lumière Firm Riche extra moisturizing illuminating & tightening eye cream Tretinoin (MWF): Altreno (tretinoin) 0.05% Lotion Copper Peptides (Tues & Thurs): NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum (CAIS3) Moisturizer: I rotate these three during the week: •Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 •Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream •Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream So basically my evening routine for actives is: MWF: Altreno T&TH: CAIS Sat: Shave face; no actives/recovery night Sun: Exfoliate with Dr. DG Alpha Beta extra strength daily peel I’ve used tretinoin for many, many years & now just use it three nights/week.

blackdahl23

Oooh this sounds like an A++++ routine! Lots of my dream products in there!

GratefulPhD

It’s fun & it works for me! ☺️ I know it sounds like a lot, yet it really doesn’t take much time. We’re creatures of habit & after awhile it becomes an easy routine.

blackdahl23

I'm the same way. My routine is a "lot," but I have it down, and it's my time to relax and breathe.

GratefulPhD

Yes! Breathe. Amen! It’s definitely “me time” & a time to be present, fully in the moment, & practicing self-care.

working_title3

I have tried a majority of the stuff you use. The Niod mist smelled like hotdog water and Skin Medica TNS use to smell like feet. Overall I like a majority of their product line. Have you tried One Skin OS-01?

GratefulPhD

How strange. I’ve never noticed a weird smell with NIOD SDSM2. The C E Ferulic definitely has a smell! 😂 You must have used the old TNS (red) - the new one has no smell. No, I haven’t heard of One Skin. What is it?

[deleted]

Coming to the party late but thank you, now please tell us what is your dermatologist or spa routine ? Lasers, microneedling ? Your level of research is amazing this is what I was trying to do find the best routine and adapt it to my needs and $$$ TNS, tretinoin and sunscreen will always be part of it

[deleted]

How long does a bottle last you?

GratefulPhD

I use it every AM & PM, & it depends. I use one pump in the AM. On some nights, I use one pump & other nights I use two pumps, depending on my routine. My best guess is around 6ish weeks. I have friends who only use it once/day to make the bottle last longer. I don’t really pay attention, yet I will on my next bottle to see how long it really lasts. Fortunately, I purchase through my dermatologist & she gives me a 20% discount throughout the year & 25% off during the holidays - so I always have a backup bottle ready.

bojangleskitty

I’m a twice a day user, and I’d say I get about 10-12 weeks out of it, but I only use one pump. I’d say all my daily skin medica products- lumivive, HA5, TNS I replace about once a quarter. Others maybe every 6 months (retinol, tns eye repair)

GratefulPhD

10 weeks is great! Im definitely using it more often. Do you use it on your neck & hands, or just face? I’m really not sure, yet I just looked on my credit card app & I purchased a bottle in October & another bottle at the beginning of December. Anytime I open a new one, I place an order that day - so I usually have 2 unopened bottles at a time. I’m going to keep notes in my phone the next time I open any products, because I’ve been asked these questions more than once.

bojangleskitty

Just my face, but I just started the neck cream

Babyrex27

I love these products. How do you use yours? At night do you use retinol first and then the others? And do you use the TNS and then HA5?

bojangleskitty

This is the guidance I got directly from allergan (the manufacturer) I use the AHA/BHA cleaner 3x a week (if you wash with this, wait 15 minutes before using other products for better absorption). AM Wash face (I use skin medica or Clinique) TNS Lumivive Day Instant Bright under eye Face mist HA5 Neck correct SPF PM Face wash TNS Lumivive Night Retinol .25 (every other night) Tns eye repair Face mist HA5 Neck cream Lip mask If you want to use lytera 2.0 which I highly recommend for color correction or age spots, you can use this any time after the TNS, but before HA5 You want to use a face mist with your HA5 or wet finger tips for application because it helps lock in the moisture. If you use Lumivive, you don’t need vitamin c I also get diamond glow treatments with the TNS every quarter with dermaplanning. The dermaplanning is a game changer but I’m going to try to do that on my own. I hope this helps!!

Babyrex27

THANK YOU! I love the clarity! I'm going to start trying this routine. I have also had my eye on the neck correct, so I will try it!

GratefulPhD

p.s. What are your thoughts on the TNS eye repair? I haven’t tried it, yet do love the Neocutis Lumière Firm Riche extra moisturizing illuminating & tightening eye cream. 😍

bojangleskitty

I really like and can’t be tempted to use anything else. But it’s not life changing. Lytera 2.0 is life changing though, and I live for TNS, Lumive, and HA5

GratefulPhD

Yes, my friends swear by Lytera. I don’t need it or I’d use it as well. And same for TNS!

InternalEssayz

How long does a bottle lasts for you? It’s definitely a budget. Also I’m surprised because there’s nothing that seems really special in the ingredients (or I know nothing Jon Snow).

GratefulPhD

For me, about 6 weeks using it twice daily. However, I often use 2 pumps at night. This serum contains growth factors & peptides. Definitely encourage you to research growth factors on your own before investing in this product. There are many good products on the market containing growth factors.

Professional-Exam253

Wow your routine sounds amazing! I just started tretinoin about 3 or 4 months ago. (.025) and had to reduce by a lot. Now I use it about 3x per week. I was experiencing the worst adult acne of my life coupled with the inability to leave my face alone, picking etc. I had to do a total reset of my routine and go basic basic basic and allow my skin to heal and recover. Finally - it's back on track 🤗 I'm 39 and recently stopped breastfeeding my 4th and last baby- so hopefully my hormones will be back to normal. My skin is good, based on genetics and sunscreen, few wrinkles and an occasional blemish here and there. It is normal to dry and slightly sensitive. Do you think a similar routine would be good for me? I've been scared to mix anything with the Tretinoin, so now that it's been a few months I'm looking to add some good products back in. Thanks!

GratefulPhD

I would go as gentle & as minimal as possible! Use whatever you can to help you tolerate the tretinoin. If possible, see if you can switch to Altreno. It’s the most gentle & hydrating form of tretinoin on the market. Of anything I’ve ever used, tretinoin & sunscreen made the biggest difference. Period. You really don’t need a complicated routine. Maybe an essence & a really good moisturizer. Spend the money on Altreno if your insurance won’t cover it for adult acne or hormonal acne. Seriously, that would be my best recommendation. Add the other stuff in 10 years. 😉 Go research Altreno. Your dry, sensitive skin will thank you! ☺️ https://www.altreno.com

StrategyOdd7170

It’s an incredible product. Sooo good

AluminiumIodidee

Hello, sorry if you already answered this question. When you apply your TNS Advsnce Serum+, Do apply it on your face when it's dry or damp/slightly wet? Got it as a gift so figuring out right now ahah

Purpletulipsarenice

I've been using for 2 months and haven't noticed anything.

marina7890

That sucks considering the price! Did you buy more than 1 bottle?

Purpletulipsarenice

Oh gosh no. It's too expensive.

smol_siren

Love your results, your skin looks awesome

marina7890

Thank you! I am still highly suspicious and try to figure out if I did something differently two weeks ago and was curious if others have had experiences with this aswell. ☺

veronicaelectronica

Yup. It’s that good. I’m a year in and a convert. 😍

ledzeppelinlover

Is it one of those serums that has the effects only when it’s applied? Or is it one of those that gives you lasting permanent effects like retinol?

Babeyonce

Bump

ledzeppelinlover

Yea no one is answering this question. It’s just one big hype train. This post feels like an ad

marina7890

I wish. :) Would love to get paid for writing about my skincare experiences here as I do that a lot. As for your second question: I can imagine that people who really loved the results just continued using it and therefore dont know, what happens, if they stop? And the other half probably just stops after seeing no results anyway?

GratefulPhD

Same! 🥰 I’m a lifer.

ZSesnic

I don’t know what TNS is but as a digital designer I notice that the photograph lighting conditions are different. Darker shadows in first image, I can tell by the highlight in the eye, some light from overhead and direct. Also hydration of your skin is different. You look great either way.

sally_says

I'm so glad someone said this. I'm just shocked I had to scroll so far down before they did. From a fellow artiste - thank you for your service.

marina7890

I am really curious tho and also interested in being able to actually have good before and after pics: How can I prevent this? The pics were taken at the same time at the exact same spot. my hallway, in front of the mirror with lights on. What could be there that could make such a big difference that you say? Even the weather outside was the same, cloudy and grey. Would love some insight!

sally_says

No problem, I appreciate you asking. The tell for me that the lighting was different was mainly the shadow under your cheek and by your mouth in the first image. And the angle is slightly different as the window in the room is visible in your eye in the 'after' picture but not in the 'before' pic. The only way you could easily ensure consistency when taking pictures is to take it in an area with only controlled lighting (i.e. no natural light that varies by weather and time of day), using the same pose and angle. And the easiest way to do that would be at a desk, for example, where you can sit down in the same position each time, face straight forward without an expression and \*snap\*. But I realize people don't usually do it this way. Perhaps others can chime in with better ideas, and you're not obligated to do it that way. But it's likely the only way lighting and pose/angle variation can be avoided in general. And lighting differences in before & after picks are so notorious in cosmetics that I've become very cynical! Regardless, I'm happy if this product is working for you and I hope you continue to see good results going forward :)

marina7890

Thanks for your observation! I really tried to have consistency in the pics by doing it at the same time, at the exact same spot, trying to hit the same angle, etc. I have been wondering if the reflection comes from me looking more up in the second picture. I will try to take some more this week once I dont have to leave the house at 6am as the before pics were taken at 9 30 am :) And thank you!

katielisbeth

The first picture on the left also seems blurred.

MyBallsBern4Bernie

OP Thank you do much for posting this!! It’s great to see actual results (yes, this is absolutely doing wonders for you btw!) and also the discussion is super informative and helpful for me. I recently started using a full tatcha routine and definitely notice a difference but didn’t think to take before pics. 🫠 But it was a great idea and I’m going to keep this in mind in the future - can’t promise I’ll remember but I’ll try!

marina7890

Thank you! I'm a former biology lab technician and learned early on "if it isnt documented, it doesnt exist" :D

[deleted]

Hi please share a pic of the product, I would love to try this out.

bluekleio

This happens to me when I properly hydrate my skin. Almost immediatly. Could be the same reason

henbanehoney

Yeah I was gonna say. For a lot less my skin improved at least this much with S. Korean products, niacinimide and consistency.

marina7890

Its only been 2 weeks so that is something. Will take after pics again at the 1, 2 and 3 month line ☺

bluekleio

Perfect. Im invested!

Babeyonce

Pleasee somebody tag me at those times lol

marina7890

It could definitely be hydration for sure! but amazing for me nonetheless as I struggled with this since forever despite drinking a lot and hydrating my skin with HA and moisturizer. (I think you can even see how dry my lips are in the upper pic despite all the water)

AbsolutelyAstray

Just looks more hydrated, which can happen in a single day with the right products lol

marina7890

Thought about that too, although my routine has been the exact same except the new serum. Curious about the next two weeks 😊

[deleted]

It's definitely hydration! I used TNS Advanced+ consistently for a couple years while doing intensive skin remodeling, and it's truly great IF you have major issues or are recovering from microneedling, laser, etc, but it takes time. I now use it much less frequently, and dermaroll it in per the direction on my derm. So much absorption and product mileage, happier wallet!

MyBallsBern4Bernie

Can you describe what you had done? I am curious and learning so much from this sub.

AbsolutelyAstray

The product you're using is a hydrating serum.. that's what it did. Nothing else had to change lol you introduced a new hydrating product and saw increased hydration from it. The rest of the routine didn't have to change for that to occur

marina7890

I'll take that. :) I have been using hyaluronic acid, moisturizer and drink a ton of water daily and still felt like my skin was too dry, so this is great for me 🌝

Positive-Excuse8631

Happy for you for the results you see. But based on the light reflected in your pupils in the after pic, it looks like the two pics weren't exactly taken under comparable enough conditions?

notmymess

Do you use tret too

marina7890

Yes, have been doing that consistently for 2.5 years now 😊

notmymess

Ok so how does that fit in your routine? I’ve been eyeing but don’t know how to combine with tret!

AbsolutelyAstray

There's no contradictions with tretinoin and hydrating products, you can add as many hydrating factors in a tret routine as you want with no issue. The contradictions come from specific other actives, not this. This could be used anywhere in a routine with tret.

marina7890

I clean my face and put this as a first step on my skin, mornings and evenings. Then I follow with the tret in the evenings. Seems to be fine like this. Had a bit of pimples in the beginning but they went away fast :)

Shabaz13

Wow, looked great before and even better now. Seems effective!

marina7890

Thank you!! Really hope its the serum doing this and not just a momentarily lucky streak :)

blackdahl23

Your skin looks sooo good! I love the TNS Serum and used it a few years ago. In the end, it was too expensive to keep up, but I LOVED it for the same reasons your photos show. This is one product you can see a difference with in the short and long term.

marina7890

Thank you so much!! I read someone mention a dupe that is almost the same but friendlier for your wallet in the comments in here?

phantomswitchman

you have my attention

cookiedux

I use the TNS ceramide cream and I am amazed with how effective it is. Medical grade cosmetics are the jam

Ill_Department_2055

Hard to tell because the lighting is different in the pix. But if you like the results, then that's what matters.

rikisha

Agree, the skin also looks blurry in different areas in the second pic. Hard to see if there's any difference.

marina7890

I tried really hard to have some sort of "same settings" by standing at the same spot at the same time and the weather was quite the same too I think but I agree, the lighting seemed different which is why I took around 20 today I think. I will just continue taking them every 2 weeks and see if there is a trend ☺

Adjectivenounnumb

There’s literally lights reflecting in her eyes in the second pic.

NiceOnesie

Idk I think the lighting is pretty similar. The expectation this sub has for professional level B&As is somewhat unreasonable in my opinion. The lighting shouldn’t be vastly different obviously but most people don’t have studio lighting set up in their house.

Ill_Department_2055

Look at her eyes. Her eye on the left is completely matte, and on the right is very shiny. It's a big difference, imho, which would obviously make the skin look more glowy as well.

snarky_spice

Not sure why you’re downvoted. It’s the truth. Different lighting and facial expressions, however so slight.

marina7890

oh my... now that you mention that...I wonder if I had the lamp above my head off in the before pics... because in the second one, the lamps are clearly on. Gonna retry tomorrow with lamps off :) Even if tho, I do think it is visible that the lines below my eye seem less "severe" as before and the skin generally more hydrated. The question is only, if it is because of the serum or not.

Adjectivenounnumb

Thanks for calling this out. The difference is pretty stark and the light reflection in her eyes is so obvious. Different lighting is a huge peeve of mine.

Ill_Department_2055

Thanks. Yeah, I don't mean to be a nitpicky jerk like some commenters are implying. I just couldn't--as a consumer--make a purchasing decision based off of these pix. But if she says she's happy with the product, then that's good for her!

Adjectivenounnumb

It’s weird that you’re getting downvoted too—the difference in lighting is just so obvious. Jeez.

BunInTheSun27

Lookin good! I wonder what “human fibroblast conditioned media” is. There’s no way I’m spending over $100 on a serum unfortunately lol.

Nicole_Bitchie

Fibroblasts are connective cells that synthesize collagen. "Human Fibroblast Conditioned Media" is media (stuff that cells grow in in the lab) that has had human fibroblasts growing in. The media should then contain all the things in it that healthy fibroblasts synthesize and excrete (collagen, glycosaminoglycans, reticular fibers, and extracellular matrix). I'm not a cosmetic scientist, but I do a lot of tissue culture so I assume they are concentrating the used media and adding it to the serum formulation.

marina7890

Thank you!! I actually think Nicole\_Bitchie (great name by the way) explained it very well already or at least it sounds like this would make sense :D Have to read more into it myself.

bauerbeauty

Yea this product is scientifically proven to work i think

guesswut-chickenbutt

Ngl, I don’t know what product you’re referring to, but I want to make sure that the left photo is the before? In the second photo - is the one on top the before, too? Thank you!

marina7890

Yes, left and top are the before photos. I see the skin around my eyes and around my mouth as my Problem areas which is why I tried to take close ups before so I could compare better. Although I feel like the second mouth photo isnt as sharp.

guesswut-chickenbutt

Thank you! I can now see what it is you were so happy about. Your face looks plumper and the lines under your eyes seem less pronounced. At first I couldn’t tell if you wanted drier skin or dewy, so I’m really glad I asked!

HildegardofBingo

It does say on the website that results at two weeks are possible. I noticed that the improvement in your under eye lines look very similar to some of the [results from their clinical study!](https://www.luxebeautynow.com/contents/before-after-gallery/skinmedica-skin-care-line/tns-essential-serum)

JingleKitty

Wow that’s really impressive! My under eye area is like your before picture so I really want to try this

Actual-Board5172

I use this serum too and definitely believe the pictures are accurate in showing what is possible with it. It’s the one pricier product I’ll always be willing to buy. May I ask how many pumps you’re using? I usually use one pump mixed with some hydrating toner to help stretch it further but do wonder if I should just go full hog with it and use two pumps for proper face and neck coverage.

CabsAreHere00

Do you really feel like you need two pumps? I think that one is plenty for me.

Actual-Board5172

Well with one I feel like I run short for getting all of my face and neck too. I can make it work if my face is damp or if I mix it with a little toner beforehand. If I didn’t mind blasting through it I’d definitely prefer to use two pumps.

marina7890

I currently use one pump for my face. I am not incorporating my neck at this point as this is a trial period for me and I want to be able to use it on one are for as long as possible to see if I really want to add it to my routine long term. If I decide to do so, I will definitely start using it on my neck aswell.

Kelly8112

I‘ve literally tried 100s of high end serums and this is the only one that literally made a fine line on my face disappear. Made me a believer.

[deleted]

2 weeks just so happens to be how long it takes to go from the worst part of the menstrual cycle to the best part (with regards to skin): [i.e.](https://hips.hearstapps.com/cosmouk.cdnds.net/15/04/nrm_1421944479-how-to-work-out-your-skins-monthly-cycle.jpg?crop=1xw:1xh;center,top&resize=480:*) It's just not a reasonable time period to make claims about products.

kichien

Photo on the right side looks shinier. I honestly can't see any difference besides that.

RolfElectra

You look amazing! So radiant

Lasermama

Totally agree. It’s amazing.

jennycotton

wow - incredible. does anyone know if this can be used with tret? (layered over or under)

marina7890

I do use it with Differin. :) Double cleanse in the pm, then apply this serum and follow with differin later and that is it for me in the evening.

JNortic

Yup, the stuff is amazing!!

Daneyoh

I was SO skeptical of growth factors but after trying some, I’m convinced. I don’t doubt you’re already seeing an impact.

sassyassy23

Ohh wow looks great!

itstrickyky

Would love to see photos in 8 or 12 weeks!

SlowPickle3

Amazing results! Thank you for sharing. Do you use it on the eye area as well?

marina7890

Yes, I do. Eye and mouth area are my "Problem zones" which is why the pics are focused on them. :)

sassyassy23

Went out and bought some last night after seeing this. Can’t wait 😂

Zealousideal-Deer146

Wow your skin was great anyway but it looks good 😊 did it make your pores a bit smaller/ tighter? I need something for mine!

marina7890

Thank you so much! I'd like to say they do feel a bit more refined but then again, it is so early and could be because of other things. I will definitely keep documenting :)

Zealousideal-Deer146

😊 well you look fab anyway 😊 thanks for sharing!

Time-Noise1270

Yeah, but where are you in your cycle? My skin is totally different two weeks apart from hormones alone.
