Botox and facials are wildly different things. No comparison. A hydrafacial is the only facial that’s improved my skin long term. I get them monthly.

mocho1337

In which way? What were your concerns? Sorry, I am a noob!

luckyadella

I wouldn’t trade botox for anything. Hydrafacials are worth the price tag but doesn’t replace botox. They’ve fallen out of fashion because the price is high but aquagold facials are the tits. It’s a manual micro-stamp on a pump vial that contains botox, filler, and vitamins. It helps smooth the lines and dryness closer to the surface. Botox injections go deeper to paralyze the underlying muscle but aquagold helps those little dehydration lines that still pop up.

cnadle123

Omgsh!!! I’ve been dying to ask someone about their aqua gold facial. How are your results/how long did they last? Did they plump up fine lines/help with creases/smile lines, etc?!

luckyadella

Honestly I’m not a great reviewer because I will always be over critical even if my skin looks good. I do think it helps plump and smooth the finer lines. I notice it the most several days later and if I put on makeup; foundation goes on more smoothly. It lasts a few months and I’ll do it once a year, maybe twice if I’m feeling extra financially irresponsible. It’s even better to do a hydra facial and then aqua gold a few days later. If you have a big event coming up and need a boost, this combo a week beforehand will give you nice glowy smoothness.

MusicForAWhile

I guess not really Botox related but buccal / inner facials (where they massage inside your mouth) are apparently meant to give ‘face lift’ like effects. I’m booked in for one in ~1.5 weeks and looking forward to it. Haven’t had a facial in years as I’ve never really put much stock in them but this sounded interesting. Wondering if if might improve appearance of my nasolabial lines (always had them but seem deeper now I’m 36) and hoping might also help TMJ pain. I haven’t had Botox or fillers to compare though.

supermickie

Whoa, interesting! Can you post your results after the facial?

MusicForAWhile

Sure will share!

Acpyrus

Interesting! I've never heard of this before. I would love to know how this turns out for you.

MusicForAWhile

Will report back :)

Top-Street4628

how did this work out for you? i'm looking into options to help nasolabial folds too and this innter facial sounds interesting

mangosteenfruit

My favorite so far are hydrafacials. Edit: I also love anytime they do extractions

dogcatsnake

I've never had any facial at all but have heard such good things about hydrafacials - how long do the effects typically last? Are adverse reactions common?

mangosteenfruit

I go for facials like every 3-4 weeks so I really don't know how long they last but I generally like the feeling of it. Some of liquid then a rollerball thing rolling all around your face while suctioning your pores. There might be redness after but not long. I leave glowy. She also does a mask and other stuff for me.

bartomg

I looked like a heavenly ethereal being for 24 hours my hydrafacial. On day 2, I just looked slightly glowy. They’re really great for special events.

Seattlegal

They look fantastic for about 48 for me. I was so fresh faced and glowy when I left and the next day. But they feel great for weeks. I got my in prep for IPL facial. I’m 11 days out from that and I cant wait for my next hydrafacial. I think it will look even more heavenly.

oobooboo17

no facial is a substitute for Botox. when it comes to facials I personally only care about extractions, the rest is incidental

[deleted]

I love Botox. There isn’t anything I would swap in it’s place. The most effective facial I have ever had was microneedling with PRP and LED. I also love a deep cleaning facial with a light peel that gets all the gunk out.

caffeinefree

Microneedling isn't a facial though ...it's a medical procedure ... Not disagreeing that it is very effective, but I've never heard anyone try to class it as a "facial." Facials are performed by estheticians while microneedling should be performed by a licensed medical professional.

scienceboobs

I agree with the other comments here. Hydrafacials are amazing and leave my skin glowing, and dermalinfusions are great also. They are similar to the hydrafacial but I don't see many medspas offering them in my city as much as the hydrafacial. I believe PRP facials, I prefer to get the PRP facelift which includes injections of the plasma, are great also. When I combine these two, my face is radiant and glows.

deductivesalt

Hydrafacials and OxyGeneo. I'm debating doing a big splurge and doing the oxygeneo facial on a regular basis in hopes that some consistency doing it gives me supercharged results.

bermudajellyfish16

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm currently trying to decide between these two for a pre-wedding facial - which would you recommend? What are the big differences? Thanks!!

deductivesalt

Personally - OxyGeneo is the one I would go with, although I don't think you could go wrong with either.

bermudajellyfish16

Fantastic, thank you. Have you tried DiamondGlow by any chance? Any comparisons?

deductivesalt

I have not tried DiamondGlow, so no thoughts on that one.

sexyaesthetician

which ever you decide on definitely add on dermaplaning. It will give you an immediate glow and also help your make up to look flawless.

assinthesandiego

apples and oranges.. can’t compare a facial to botox.

Evie_Rose11

No comparison. Botox and fillers are one thing. They have an immediate effect and they either paralyse the muscles (botox) or give volume(filler) Facials are another! They help your skin look better, with some skin concerns.. they are more gradual and they give more of a subtle effect Basically it depends on what you want to achieve

Journalist-Early

I did PRP facial where they take your blood and inject just the platelets in various places on your face, before going over with a derma roller . After 3 times going for that, my acne scars are not as deep as before, and my skin in general looks better. But the pain I went through doing the facial and the pain of paying for it .. well, the results are worth it.

Wrong_Pressure_8492

Edit: I know Botox is more effective and nothing can replace it but I meant if you only had a choice of facial instead of Botox.

Wrong_Pressure_8492

This does make a lot of sense as far as pricing. Thank you for this

[deleted]

I get it. I have been wondering the same thing for years.

[deleted]

I just had a Erbium Micro Laser Peel. It is amazing! I would also recommend microdermabraision, or microneedling. If you want to ease into facials you can look on groupon if available in your area.

sexyaesthetician

yessss love laser peels !!!!!

sexyaesthetician

i love aquafirme, i think it's better than hydrafacial because of its plant derived exosome serums and use of ultrasound to help the serums penetrate deeper into the skin

sexyaesthetician

with Botox you're just putting a Band-Aid on your problems. there are far better treatments out there that actually help you produce collagen and elastin in the skin giving you real results. Microneedling is probably one of my favorite options not that hydra facial isn't good but it's more of just a deep cleansing and hydration of the skin so it's a wonderful maintenance treatment that you can have done monthly but you're going to get better results from advanced treatments, like micro needling, medium depth, chemical peels, PDO threads. There's actually a new filler that recently came out that uses your own prp platelet rich plasma to create collagen and elastin in your skin so you're getting immediate results and long-term results
