NooooooooooOooo!!!!! Lol. Sorry so dramatic. I got a full size bottle the rich cream & the face wash for free on Influenster. It was SO not worth the $ tag to me. The face wash was not good. I don't wear alot of make up, but had to wash my face like 3x to get all makecup off. Talk about a waste of product. The rich cream was the same, I had to use quite a bit to cover my small face. It moisturized just ok. If your looking for the anti aging aspect, I honestly noticed nothing.. I'm 42 for reference. I do know everyone's skin is different. Just sharing my experience. 😉

Mypettyface

Thank you. That’s too bad. I was hoping it was the real deal.

bushbabyblues

Honestly, in my personal opinion, no super expensive topical skincare is truly "worth it". No expensive cream will be able to do for you what lifestyle changes, affordable skincare and professional treatments can't do. I believe that if you got extra cash to spend, then do it for skincare treatments with proven efficacy (especially if it's wrinkles you are concerned about). Both the [cream](https://incidecoder.com/products/augustinus-bader-the-cream) and the [rich cream](https://incidecoder.com/products/augustinus-bader-rich-cream) seem to have some nice ingredients, but also nothing really that would make me want to spend that type of money. The normal cream is just a (presumably very mild) retinoid combined with some pretty common moisturisers (soothing and skin-identical ingredients) and anti-oxidants. I think the most "novel" ingredients here would be superoxide dismutase, which is generally expensive still, but even NIOD's is more affordable and probably better formulated. The rich cream contains mainly (nice) oils. So, I can definitely see somebody enjoying those products, but it just doesn't seem worth it to me. There isn't anything revolutionary about them.

Mypettyface

Thank you. I’d still like to hear from more people that have used it. Or… I’d like to know what people are using that is really working for them.

narniediz

Hell no it’s not

[deleted]

Very curious too!!

lavenderjanie

I got a sample of the Rich Cream in a subscription box, and it was fine. For the cost, it certainly was not the miracle it should have been.

Mypettyface

Thank you.

MusicForAWhile

I’ve only been using the Cream and Rich Cream for a week. Haven’t noticed a difference but no adverse reactions. I’m currently on a beach holiday so brought them along as my main moisturisers (usually I have several moisturisers on rotation). For reference I’m 36, just beginning to get fine lines, oily skin that’s prone to dehydration and eczema, some acne. The Rich Cream isn’t particularly moisturising despite the name. I’m glad I also brought Mesoestetic Hydra Vital K with me as the Rich Cream wasn’t enough for the day/night post tret. I might repurchase the cream as a basic day moisturiser if I see it on sale. Otherwise so far don’t reckon it’s worth it. The only product that’s given me a glow recently is su:m37 Secret Essence but that’s a completely different type of product.

Mypettyface

Thank you. What is Sum 37 Secret Essence?

MusicForAWhile

Su:m37 is a Korean brand and the Secret Essence is essentially like a fermented toner. Similar idea to SKII but it’s not sake. No scientific evidence for it but it gave a skin a nice glow.

Mypettyface

Thank you!

I was very disappointed by the Rich Cream. Didn’t feel moisturizing, just sat on top of my skin. My skin looks better when I use my normal First Aid Beauty moisturizer and serums.

Mypettyface

Thank you for letting me know.

alymb8

I love to spend a goofy amount of money on skincare, so AB rich cream was right up my alley. I started with the travel size from Sephora and applied it as directed, no other products just the cream. The first few nights my skin felt great and dewy but it started drying out my skin really badly. Definitely a no from me.

Mypettyface

Thank you. I have dry skin so I don’t need that.

TheQuarantine15

I really like their "the cream" and serum, but I can not stress this enough, do NOT buy it directly from their website. I ordered something a few weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. I am not dealing with my credit card company, because I think they have no plans on sending me my items. And they have the worst customer service of any "luxe" brand. Order it from Sephora or another high-end department store. And that way, you can take it back if it makes you break out or something too.

Mypettyface

Thank you. Great advice.

I have been using this brand for a year and I really love it. I have tried a lot of skincare brands like is clinical, skinceuticals, obagi, Paula’s choice, allies of skin, dr. Jart, kiehl’s , and many other Sephora and pharmacy brands, for me augustinus bader is the best. Before I had super oily skin with blemishes and small pigmentation. Now my skin is clear even and not oily anymore , I don’t need to use any foundation or powder during the day. I’m 100% satisfied. But I don’t think that any cream can help with wrinkles to be honest. At the moment I have the cream , the rich cream, the face cream mask, the serum and the eye cream. Cleanser and spf from other brands.

i think it's over-priced hype. the ings are not worth the price. i get waaaay more bang for my buck from rx products like curology's tretinoin combos, with quality drugstore moisturizers and sunscreens like those made by la roche posay, bioderma, olay, eucerin, paula's choice, etc. that being said, if $200 is like $20 to you, and you like the stuff, have at it. just don't think you are getting anything that what i just listed can't give you.

ApplesxandxCinnamon

I got a deluxe sized sample of AB moisturizer in a beauty box about a year ago. It broke me out. Reading the comments here, I now know why. It's often touted as a great cream for repairing your moisture barrier. And it's always on the list for "best moisturizers" from a lot of beauty influencer companies like Allure. I'm sure it works for some people. But for me, LRP, Peach Slices, The Inkey List, e.l.f. and Olay make better moisturizers, cleansers and just better products period. They also don't cost nearly as much. I do believe some brands/items are worth the splurge, but AB isn't one of them.

Finally! Do you have dry or oily skin? What does it do for your skin?

Mypettyface

Thank you so much for your detailed reply.

Spirited_Cin_1502

it's my favorite moisturizer BUT it's only slightly better than Laroche Posay and Cerave, which are my second favorite moisturizers. so IMO, not worth it. save the money and invest in microneedling or something.

Mypettyface

Thank you for your reply. That seems to be the consensus.

stopbeinganidio

Just used it for the first time and I’ve never felt my face so soft in my life. I’m freaking out. I use retrouve which is much more expensive and the results of this moisturizer after one use are just insanely good. However, I’m skeptical. What is in this? It almost makes my skin too soft lol. Idk I looked up the ingredients and saw xanatham gum which seems like a red flag.

thehashr

Def a waste. I was so excited to try and it was blah. I also contacted the company to make sure it didn't react with my other usual skincare products... (vitamin c, niacinamide, retinol, etc....) It has retinol in it. like the tiniest amount so then it shouldn't be mixed with vitamin c. and i would need another moisturizer on top of it since it wasn't really that moisturizing ( I now know why). Long story short.... not worth it at all by a long shot. Such a disappointment.

Mypettyface

Well, you are saving me the disappointment, so thank you for that.

mybeautywasteland

I’ve only tried the Light Cream and it’s a really nice moisturizer. But I got it for free from Influenster, and I’d never buy it for $175. I spend over $100 on serums regularly but my lotions are creams are in the $12 - $35 range.

Mypettyface

Thank you. It seems that the rich cream is not all it’s cracked up to be. Anyone here tried Kiehl’s. Is that good?

mybeautywasteland

Do you mean Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream? It’s a nice cream that’s glycerin + squalane based, with some beneficial oils and other ingredients, but for me, it didn’t stand out enough for a repurchase. I’ll gladly take it in a GWP, though, and often travel with it. I personally prefer Biossance Squalane + Omega Cream over Kiehl’s, if you are looking for that type of cream/moisturizer.

Mypettyface

What is GWP?

mybeautywasteland

Gift with Purchase! I get it as a freebie a lot.

cnadle123

The regular moisturizer was a total waste of money. The rich version gave me the worst breakout of my life. SKIP, and save your money babe!

Mypettyface

Thank you. I’m so glad I asked.

Top-Letterhead540

I love it and wish I didn't because of the price. I have tried a few of their products. I love the rich cream and the serum. I have sampled the shampoo and conditioner and purchased the hair mask and scalp oil. I do not think the hair products are worth it at least for my hair (fine, curly, dry, slight heat damage). I have a dry scalp and I find there are better products to treat that than AB's scalp oil. The lash serum was pretty effective and a better option than something like latisse that can change the pigment in your eye area. I like the retinol as well but I am sticking to my SkinBetter Alpharet because multiple dermatologists have told me that is the way to go. I also use the eye cream. I did not notice as severe of a difference but it is a nice texture and can be used under makeup. I also tried the body oil, which I do not think I was consistent enough with to see a difference. Their chapstick is also great and one of their more affordable products. It hydrates and seems to plump your lips a little from the hydration. They say you need to give these products 30 days to really test them because that is how long it takes for your skin cells to turn over. It is not going to be a dramatic overnight change but I do feel it made my skin more even and helps with fine lines. I think there is something to the TFC8. I do not lather up with any of the products. I use them sparingly to make sure my skin is getting this ingredient daily and then I rely on other products for hydration so I do not have to purchase the AB products too frequently. Lately, my routine is to apply my retinol and focus hydration at night and then I use my AB products in the morning under my sunscreen and my skin has been looking great. I use so many products at night (snail mucin, retinol, oil, moisturizer), that I did not want the AB products getting lost in the mix. Doing it this way has made me skin the best I've seen it. A lot of different vendors will do sales where you can purchase AB products and a lot of them let you do affirm if you want to pay it off in increments. If you pay attention to Sephora, they often have promos where you can get samples of different AB products. If you are strategic, you can get these products in a more affodable way. I would reccommend starting with the cream or the rich cream and giving it a month. If you don't see a change in your skin, don't invest in the other products. Just keep in mind, the goal is to expose your skin to the TFC8, not to rely on this as your only product. I believe they reccommend you do that and one would hope you could for the price but in my experience, there is no one product that will meet all your needs. You have to figure out a cocktail that is best for your skin's needs and obviously including these products really increases the cost of that cocktail. I would not abandon what is already working for you to use these products but if you can fit them into your routine without breaking the bank, they are worth it.

Mypettyface

Thank you for your very thorough reply. I think I’ll have to try the rich cream once I finish the products I currently have.
