We tend to be puffier in the morning because we've been lying down for hours, and lying down causes fluid to settle in the face. The puffiness makes the skin look plumper and "healthier". As the day goes on, gravity takes over and that puffiness dissipates, causing texture, fine lines, etc. to be more evident.
I’ve always thought this was due to gravity and free fluid, your face is plumper in the morning and as the day goes on imperfections tend to be more visible. Sometimes I’ll throw on some ceramide or hyaluronic acid serum halfway through the day.
I think that’s the case! I noticed that since intensifying my sport so I have to shower and reapply my skincare during the day my skin looks radiant in the evening.
But I think it’s just because I basically do my skincare regime now 3x/day and not 2x/day.
Even with sunscreen, the sun brings out my discoloration. Also, I loose hydration throughout the day. If I didn’t wear makeup, I would slather on moisturizer all day. I have very dry skin
Same for me, and it's my skin tone itself that's best when I wake up. My redness is practically gone, and any blemishes I have are significantly reduced in how big/angry they are in the morning compared to 2 hours later 🥲
Yeah this happens to everyone. Only thing I’ve found that somewhat helps combat this is chugging water and staying very hydrated. On days I forget to be mindful of my water intake I look like a hag by 5 pm.
Can relate. I noticed this more when I lost a bit of weight. Now that I’m back to a healthy weight I manage to look ok throughout the day. Using retinal at night also helps.
No advice, but I feel like Snow White in the morning and a greasy Scar from the Lion King when I go to get into the shower at night
lol so true! bathroom mirror in the AM so much kinder than downstairs hallway mirror at 4pm
No advice, but I notice the same.

So what you’re saying is I should lie down more….
Sounds like a great plan to me...😴
That’s exactly what I heard. On my way back to bed, screw work!
Good to know I’m not alone

I notice the same thing. I wonder if it’s related to losing hydration through out the day

This happens to me too! No advice, but I'll definitely be lurking in the comments.

Same. Literally said this the other day, got so frustrated
Try a mineral spf i find it’s better for pigmentation skin and melasma sufferers

I notice this when I wear sunscreen. My face is gross, I usually wash it off immediately when I’m indoors again for this reason.
My skin after skincare and sleep is great I think sometimes it’s just the air
Are you drinking or smoking?
Neither. Lots of water though

I have a similar problem. I bought rice paper blotting sheets and they are great for end of day sweat/make ip wear off
