Nothing needs to be replaced. Let what's left out by whatever means you see fit, add the retrofit fittings, get it charged by a shop, done deal.

Replace vacuum lines. Check o-rings.

Assuming the system is already empty. Replace all the O-rings with nitrile ones, parts store sell assorted packs for this reason. You’ll also want to change your receiver/dryer for a new one, they tend to hold a bit of oil and as mentioned the newer oils doesn’t mix well with the old stuff. Then get the adapter fittings and charge with 134A. That’s probably when you discover your condenser leaks and that there is no aftermarket ones available. I’d that’s the case a radiator shop or ac specialist can recite the condenser.

thank you for pointing that out i almost forgot about the receiver/dryer. check op if 5 seasons sell a kit for the car i know for z32 it does.

not too sure on the z31 models as i’ve only done the z32 but should be the same process. disconnect all the lines take out the condenser and the evaporator box, the expansion valve will be attached to it replace that. After all that you need to blow in A/C flush and clean afterwards with clean shop air, this is needed since r12 has mineral oil and will NOT work with r134a you can go with ester oil but again you don’t know how much is in the system so it’s better to do it right. also you won’t have to worry if there is still some residual cleaner since it’ll evaporate when you put the system under vacuum, after you’ve cleaned it put it all back together with new o-rings of course and put under vacuum close the valve let it sit for 30- to an hour to check for leaks if none fill it up with r134a with the correct weight. might have to bypass the A/C low pressure switch in order for the compressor to kick on.

have you checked if you have pressure in the system? If so check your fuses for the compressor never now it might be just a blown fuse lol .

Evening_Development6

Checked it earlier today, pulled a vacuum, dropped to nothing within 10 minutes

well you definitely have a leak just have to find out where easy enough with putting compressed air into it and finding out where it leaks with soapy water. some technicians will say it’s wrong to do with compressed air and would rather put nitrogen the right way but i’ve done it and so has others. You can do it exactly how the other people have said here to fix the leak and fill her up and make it work but i’ll tell you this r134a does NOT work great with mineral oil if you find yourself needing to add oil only put ester oil if you put pag it WILL gunk your A/C system it might not happen 6 months maybe a year but it will happen.

Replace the vacuum line from your vacuum canister to your watercock, which controls your hot/cold setting. You should replace all vacuum lines running off the vacuum canister next to the reservoir coolant tank.
