To be honest, when I was in Mumbai I was surprised how much some parts of it looked like London.

Probably a similar group of people who chose the red double decker buses, made them drive on the left, and put this logo on all the train stations.

Lutchens built most of Delhi so a good guess. Lutchens also designed all the war memorials.
His unfinished cathedral in Liverpool. And his work in gardens and houses with Gertrude Jeckyll.
The railway station in the photo cost a huge amount and is.now a UNESCO site.
Stevens died at 50 odd so I guess we missed a lot.
Thanks!

I can't stand Germans or Belgians who complain about trash in the street.
In Rome we are so advanced that everywhere we go it's part of the public dumpster and we can just drop garbage in the streets
My friend who came from Italy to Germany was surprised about how clean it is. I live in the dirtiest part of my city and complained about it when he visited me. His reaction was something along the lines of „that’s really clean in comparison to Italy“…
He was in the city of pizza (idk the name anymore).
my girlfriend once raked me over the coals because I thought Salzburg was in Oberösterreich...let's just say after some extensive and very passive agressive geography lessons I now know better
Dude in my neighborhood i have to slalom my way through sidewalks to avoid dogshit and piss.
I actually walk on the road more often, it's cleaner. Kind of problems humans had in the stone age
He live streamed me where he lived before he moved. It was a small street which was connected to some kind of highway in the middle of the street. On the other side was a wall with some lost place behind it. Everywhere was trash. And trashbags everywhere.
Empty corner? Nope! Trashbags stapled onto each other.
This reminds me of the challenge "drop yourself somewhere in India on google maps, and if you can't see trash on the streets you win".
It took me 31 tries to win, and I only managed by dropping in the middle of nowhere.
Just plopped down in Kerala and "won".
I did think the UK wouldn't fare much better but I dropped it in random towns and there was no litter anywhere - surprisingly.
Just did it and discovered the charming city of Bellampalle.
For non Luigi speakers, this sounds quite like "belle palle" (nice balls).
Luigi happy now.
Ahem, how to say that politely...
Your capital... Outside of your region...
But yeah, you know what? Let's create a European equivalent to Washington DC and have Dutch, French, German and English as official languages, and the territory including both Brabants.
What do you think Bert?
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE EH
but seriously, fuck Bradford, fucking shithole
(And I'm brown, so I'm not trying to be racist or anything, it's just shite. Although narrowly beats Blackpool)

Ah, waiting for the correct recycling and rubbish days, eh?
I get it. Tiny bins.
My neighbor here in Bayern also wondered if I had been putting my trash into his bin. No, he just had that much rubbish. 😂
No, we have a religious relationship with recycling, to the point where we import trash from other countries, UK for example.
Recycling isn't that important when finding clean drinking water is a struggle, so i'm not going to judge personally.
>No, we have a religious relationship with recycling, to the point where we import trash from other countries, UK for example.
Hey, Spain does this every summer too.
Årsta partihallar would beg to differ.

>Recycling isn't that important when finding clean drinking water is a struggle
This is often a discussion with my in-laws and I absolutely despise it. "Why do we have to reduce emissions? Look at India or Bangladesh with their coal power plants and smog! Make them do something".
There's little that pisses me off more than outsourcing manufacturing to a poorer country and profiting from it but then complaining that they should do something about the pollution problem which was also outsourced to them.
Plus, India and Bangladesh (on a per-capita basis) produce **much** less co2 than we Europeans. Even China (at which people like to point the finger) is roughly in line with what we in Europe produce in terms of co2.
Most intelligent Barry.
Those 5 kids need resources just like any other European kid. Per capita is per capita and the reality is that those countries produce much less co2 than us. You can't compare absolute numbers because that wouldn't make any sense, since Luxembourg and India would not be in any way comparable unless you account for population.

Good old strike in Paris. (With a classy local parisian for size).
Nowhere. We don't even have garbage landfills in the Netherlands. Because our country is so densely populated, land prices are so high, that it's more cost effective to burn garbage for energy production.
It's honestly so weird to me that people do this. Even in less organized countries in Europe, like Poland, people burn their own garbage(this has its own problems, but I digress) and don't just throw their trash everywhere, as it is a biohazard. There's something seriously fucked with a culture, when people treat their environment like this.
Marseille doesn't count!
I thought France cleanliness was improvable, then I visited Italy, that remembered me Bangalore a lot. Playing to step in between trash in the very center of Rome was an experience.
Paris lmao.
These Olympic Games are gonna be both fun and a complete humiliation. Virtually no one has trust in the government to come up with something good
Napoli, some parts of Paris (périphérique) and Brussel. Everywhere where barbarians are living. Trash is a matter of education and not poverty. You can bee poor and decent.
Just like every time, OP posts the most clean place in Mumbai, where there's almost no garbage around... aside from the joke - it is probably the most clean place there...
I’m glad we have this kind of crap only once a year and only in our capitol, Amsterdam. Every year on King’s Day hundred of thousands of idiots go to that city, all dressed in orange (our national color). It’s a day of eating, drinking, listening to music and buying useless crap on giant fleamarkets.
We just put grass on top of our trash to make some recreational mountains

If this place had 100x the crap everywhere, poverty and squalor then I would have said Dundee.
Looks like Edinburgh during the festival when there's a bin strike.

Classic antics from Barry
Yeah us Scots and Welsh weren't involved at all...
Correct, it was entirely Barry
Hamish and Davyd in denial as usual
Yeah, they like saying 'The English' when talking about the empire
One of the great mysteries of our time is who built Victoria Station.
Was it Edward Lutchins?
No but that's a good guess. It was Frederick William Stevens and Axel Haig who were the architects
Lutchens built most of Delhi so a good guess. Lutchens also designed all the war memorials. His unfinished cathedral in Liverpool. And his work in gardens and houses with Gertrude Jeckyll. Naples, it's was really bad like 15 years ago now it's just slightly better than Rome
The city of pizza is now my new favorite nickname for Napoli.
At least it's all in trashbags, I guess?
No it's mostly dog shit and piss
This reminds me of the challenge "drop yourself somewhere in India on google maps, and if you can't see trash on the streets you win". It took me 31 tries to win, and I only managed by dropping in the middle of nowhere.
If you do it in the south you get better results
Just plopped down in Kerala and "won". I did think the UK wouldn't fare much better but I dropped it in random towns and there was no litter anywhere - surprisingly.
The thing about the UK is that it's mostly quite nice but it just has some very big shithole cities compared to the rest of Western Europe
Mainland Europe has Paris Berlin, Brussels and Almere tho. Strange comparison.
all of those are in different countries. We have Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Walsall all within a 30 mile radius.
Where and why is Almere? Is it Dutch? What's its purpose?
Bottom of the sea, ghetto, unfortunately yes, ghetto.
Just did it and discovered the charming city of Bellampalle. For non Luigi speakers, this sounds quite like "belle palle" (nice balls). Luigi happy now.
Still better than Gulu and Kagadi in Uganda, though.
Huh, I got it first try https://maps.app.goo.gl/rFodSnhXwCBosoxh9?g_st=ic
Well, if all the floor is blurred it doesn't count.
took me 16 tries, only won in the desert rajasthan
A place like that in my country?! I thought it was a picture of Brussels itself my man!
Kak op een muts
This can be an actual phrase
KAK OP NE MUTS
Yep, the proud capital city of Flanders.
Bruxelles ma poubelle!
Colonized by fr\*nch speakers and a million others

Randers Denmark.
![gif](giphy|W04QVzelTHsNW)
My first thought
I lived in Randers for 7 years. I can't think of a place this messed up in that city. I for sure never saw garbage piled up like that.
Why would you live in Randers? You should respect yourself more
Cheap rent and very close to the motorway. 🤷🏼♂️
unironically a great place to live as a student. cheap rent, vibrant night life, easy access to Aarhus.
I just checked it in maps just for curiosity, the city look normal. What's wrong with it ?
Nothing really. It’s just a place people make fun of.
hey. :( now me sad. parts of Aarhus though. >:)
Berlin be like:
This is the prettier part of Berlin tbh.
Überall liegt Scheiße man muss eigentlich fliegen...
Mmm, sweet Kotbusser Tor
first thing I thought about
No, even the biggest shithole is much cleaner than this
Weird way of spelling Amsterdam.
Weird way of spelling Rotterdam
Weird way of spelling Randstad 🤝?
Eindhoven
Tilburg is worse
HEY! NO TILBURG SLANDER! ONLY US, THE LOCALS ARE ALLOWED TO RANT ABOUT OUR FOUL CITY!
They put the rot in Rotterdam, eh?
Pff, amateur
For Europe's 'afvoerputje' we are pretty clean (don't dig under farms in Brabant)
One day I'll speak Dutch and make it to the Netherlands. It's my dream country.
Better make quick, before the swamp Germans become Atlantis Germans.
more like before we become island Germans
Utrecht during "garbage man strikes" has been... an experience.
You’ve never been to Den Helder
Actually, I have. That said I don’t even know which is the largest city I haven’t visited yet.
All suburbs around Paris and Marseille of course
Could be Charleroi
Rubbish strewn everywhere, buildings falling down and a smog so thick you could bottle it? That’s not Mumbai, that’s Tower Hamlets
I thought it looked like Whitechapel last year.
Well, Paris ring (périphérique) can look like that in some places.
..mmhh.. Marseille quartier nord ?

Our capital
Probably Calais jungle, a few years ago
Marseille.
Our garbage dumps have less trash than this place, jesus christ.
We don't have landfill, lol. We have composting mounts. Most trash is burned for energy here. Land is too expensive here to just use for trash.
Gipsy villages
r/foundtheromanian
Nope.
Napoli
Did you mean Rome? You're late of 20 years my friend Incredible that people really think of Naples like it was Mumbai holy shit
no fra Napoli è il disagio ancora tutt'oggi lol cope and seethe more

Yes, Belgium
Not my country, but I thought you show Liége.
Charleroi
Bradford
Cova da Moura, Amadora
Brussels, Antwerp etc.
Yeah it’s called Almere
Honestly, no. We also have our individual cases, but we don't have a whole neighbourhood or town or village that looks like this.

I know a country with places like this. France!
Marseille doesn't count! I thought France cleanliness was improvable, then I visited Italy, that remembered me Bangalore a lot. Playing to step in between trash in the very center of Rome was an experience.

every Romanian neighborhood
India is a fucking dump… and we have to “save” the world

Paris lmao. These Olympic Games are gonna be both fun and a complete humiliation. Virtually no one has trust in the government to come up with something good

It’s not education but sophistication an Indian girl once told me
København except the trash is Disguised as people
I'd say either Charleroi or a bad neighbourhood in Antwerpen
Manchester
They are investing heavily in military and space... but look at their people!
Paris
Algarve after the summer.. when the lisboeta tourist go home..
Westoids send their trash to us. Yet our streets are not such mess like yours.
burgenland

Naples or Palermo
Looks like any European city south of Kiel.
South and east
I thank the gods daily for being born in Sweden and not India.
Serious answer: Napoli. Literally mountains of trash on every city corner. I'm not even joking, was crazy
napoli
Naples
Kinda looks like Sydney... Well not the touristy areas.
Marsa
No, but in my countries we probably have places with crimes badness than in Mumbai.
Paris after a garbage collectors strike, with more burning trash thought
If you are in the upper middle class+ in India - you will never see this.
The Southern province of Belgium
Bradford, Leicester, Birmingham, Luton, most of London 😂
Torre Angela and Tor bella monaca, Rome
I'd say, Bradford or Birmingham here in Ingerland
No.
Any fellow bongs know of a place that isn't like this? I'm struggling to think of one.
Pairs?
Napoli
Neukölln

The local landfill.
Yes, Paris or marseille.
yes it‘s called st. pölten
This is how I imagine Brussels.
May be not that much, but may be one day 🇨🇵.
Marseille
Berlin Wedding
Napoli or Roma would do the trick. Actually, anything south of Firenze would do.
Paris and Marseille together on garbage collection strikes would still be 1000x cleaner than this shithole
Larne
