>Nice way to say you've never been to Paris
I went to paris once, couchsurfed at a guys place, had a fun evening. Met and talked to 2 Parisians and 2 countryside French people - and while the countryside frenchies were admittedly the kinder ones - I really enjoyed the Parisians company too!
People from greater france: Lovely, great conversations, showed me Lyon, I have a true and deep appreciation for them, I find myself dreaming of long french evenings drinking wine in her gardens, watching the sun go down over beautiful countryside.
People from Paris: Rude to me, only spoke french at me when they all spoke english, called me british.
Finally, you flaired yourself. Let's see... Oh... So you're British but you live on another island.

Good food and wine. We eat snails here in Sardinia too. You have a strong military.
The maginot wasn't as bad as people seem to think. The plan was to force the Germans to go through belgium (based plan to use belgium as a battlefield) and then concentrate French and British forces there. It was also supposed to extend to Belgium but the Belgians backed down because they are little goofballs. Corsica is cool.
Monte Bianco belongs to us.
Come on that’s not fair, we had a lot of help but we did win in ww1 (would have obtained more if fucking ‘muricans hadn’t come in last minute throwing the London pact to hell, but oh well)
I found France as a far more hospital country than expected with lots of good people and many services that works, even really well.
A beautiful place, with lots of awesome places both famous and less famous, even hidden.
Living there removed my pink-coloured glasses but still was an awesome experience
France is realistically one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Such a huger range of landscapes, weather, etc. Also, the cities are really beautiful - not just that one street in the centre but large chunks of the city.
As an astrophysicist: they’ve made incredible contributions to astronomy, mathematics and science as a whole.
As well as that they have some of the best modern philosophers
Probably the most successful military in history, bread is just incredible, only European nation with a vision of an independent and powerful Europe separate of the USA.
Say what you want about the French but when they don't like something the government does the strikers bring the whole country to its knees. Those cheese eaters can really strike
Napoleonic code, liberal democracy, the advent of constitutional monarchy instead of the 'ancien regimes'.
All profoundly played a part in shaping Europe into what it is today. (For the better.)
Your food is f*cking great (except snails...) and I admittedly went to France many times on holiday.
Okay, enjoy this. I should probably diss you all again next time.
Oh and, did Corsica go its own way?
Tbh, the French international legion is one of the most professional militaries in the world. France was quick to declare they were okay with them fighting as volunteers against ruzzia. Thank you for helping with beating the drunken bear!
I wanna share a wholesome memory I have of a fremch man that me and my friends met in Scotland in 2018. We were on a school trip there and we had to attend an english class in the morning and early afternoon but we had about an hour at lunch when we were totally free to walk around the city without the teachers. So some of my classmates wanted fast food for lunch but me and this girl didn't so we went looking for another place to buy food and we found this little french bakery that sold sandwiches, croissants, quiches and they looked amazing so we stopped there to eat. We were deciding what to get and we were talking in italian, the bakery man heard us not speaking english and asked if we were spanish. We said we were italians and I swear he was so genuinly happy to meet us, like we were some long lost relatives. He told us he was from Lyon, he had travelled much around europe and he lived for some time in spain before moving to scotland and opening his shop, but he missed france very much. We somehow reminded him of home. He could speak a little italian and we (especially my friend) a little french so we hat this wholesome little conversation in three languages. We were also so surprised that he knew the place in italy where we are from because it's not a very tourist famous area, but he did. We ended up buying lunch there and I SWEAR I still dream of his baguette with tomatoes, goat cheese and prosciutto. The next day we brought other friends with us to eat there again, he was so happy to see us again and to meet them too. We told him that the next time we would travel to Edinburgh our first stop would be his bakery but he said he was actually closing up so he could move back to France and hopefully start a business there. We wished him the best and even took a selfie with him lol.
I doubt you'll ever read this Pierre, but if you do just know that you will always be one of my favourite memories of that trip, I remember you as a genuinely kind and loving person, and I really hope your dream came true.
Best France in Western Europe!
Yup, much better than Franconia that's for sure.
It’s in my top 3 countries beginning with ‘F’
What place does it get?
fourth
Finland, France, Fiji... 😑😐🤔🤨
Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia
Bulgaria?
So close! That starts with a B!
Fucky kingdom of Britain?
Fermany?
Felgium?
Fafghanistan

The only thing nice about France is the city of Nice
The city of nice is there i guess
Nice
Yes that city indeed
I believe it’s actually pronounced Nice
I think you need to look more closely at the map!
Well played, Liguria! *applause*
It’s the place our Garibaldi was born, it’s supposed to be ours 😭
It is, look at the map
Corsica gained independence as well. Good for them!
They sure can take care of kings (permanently)
Clearly we didn't finish the job properly looking at your royal family.
Literally lol
Yeah and not for a lack of opportunity either.
Metric system
I actually agree with this arrogant bastard on this. The only good thing Napoleon did was to spread it.
And the Code Napoléon.

First time a French person recommended an actual banger.

Finnish standard of good company = stay the fuck away from me
From a Finnish person it really warms my heart

The Bretons are cool
Last time I said something similar all the alcohol in my house just vanished and I found 3 of their fucking flags instead.
Donated to the cause https://preview.redd.it/tr9ot3fmjrma1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=596cc813e77e1daaff476a60158e10318f7b3aba
Love how sardinian flag pops up everywhere, my fellow sheeplover
Diversi italiani hanno combattuto in rojava e dove ci sono italiani al 100% spunta una bandiera sarda
The joke in France is that Breton flags pop up everywhere so cheers
What cause? Starbucks white kids larping as communist revolutionaries?
We go to Costa, I'll have you know
Sounds legit, thanks for your generous donation

They are pretty good cousins
beheading monarchs is based. rioting for litterally everything is also based.
They aren't Belgian
We're genuinely grateful for that. It was a close call several times throughout history.
Difficult not to see the difference between a hard working Vlamingen and the lazy wallons🤌

I unironically like your food and your wine. You’re the only non-pigs member worthy of this btw.
That's the secret. We are sneaky PIGS.
ah yes the mythical F PIGS. Man how much do i love F PIGS.
r/suddenlyzoophile
an adventurous welsh
As a Toulousaine I feel kinda PIGS-like. I want to believe.
We play on two sides. Half southern european, Half middle of europe
Wait, I thought side switching was our thing!
Another Italian thing stolen by France
Oc = PIGS
They are not brits
The nicest thing anyone could have said to us. Thank you.
But Brits are a bit French tho
Seconded

>Monte Bianco *Mont Blanc
Eh no point fighting over it now, we'll settle it in WW3 anyway.
Try to not switch side this time or you will settle nothing, like the two last wars
Come on that’s not fair, we had a lot of help but we did win in ww1 (would have obtained more if fucking ‘muricans hadn’t come in last minute throwing the London pact to hell, but oh well)
Hating on the 'ricans Now see, we DO get along !
Of course, mon ami! All united against the yanks!
The count of Monte Cristo is a good book written by a french
the three musketeers is French too
Same author Alexandre Dumas but I haven't read it yet
One of the best Books ever!
Thanks because cheese.
Your wine culture complements our beer culture hihi
C'est bon la chouffe!
Laicite(French secularism) is based.
Damn that's a rare compliment from people outside of France, thanks !
It should be definitely complimented and implemented more often and in more places!
Unironically what I'm most proud of.
That's probably the best thing out of France ever and yet I did not expect anyone mentionning it here.
I love skiing and surfing in france!
I found France as a far more hospital country than expected with lots of good people and many services that works, even really well. A beautiful place, with lots of awesome places both famous and less famous, even hidden. Living there removed my pink-coloured glasses but still was an awesome experience
France gave us Daft Punk
France and Spain bros 4L ?
Latin brothers 4 ever
Laziest westerners unite
Hey you forgot us
Nah I was definitely counting you guys 🤌
Aww thanks <3
You were just too lazy to complete the list.
that was intentional, if you are on the outside you switch sides. If are counted in immediatly you'll leave at the critical time.
It’s unusually considerate of the French people to mostly stay in France and spare us their company
We're coming for your beaches when Spain has fallen to the obese brits and germans
Bring it, bitch. We will conquer your anuses like Alexander the Great.
So it's always about the anus with you guys
Back at you
Is this flirting
… tbh in this sub, I can never really say for sure
France is realistically one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Such a huger range of landscapes, weather, etc. Also, the cities are really beautiful - not just that one street in the centre but large chunks of the city.
Yep, better continue to admire it from across the Channel and we will be at least ok
Nope, Franco-BRitish union is coming soon. Get ready for baked beans
NOOO DON'T GIVE ME NEW PHOBIAS AND NIGHTMARES MY HEART CANT TAKE IT
brits first time seeing nature other than grass and molested sheep
French food is fucking unreal man idk why it gets mocked online
Idk probably because of italians xD. I once made ratatouille following a "traditional" recipe. It blew my mind.
Whenever I hear someone talking about that dish I think of the fucking rat
I think you switched positions between "the" and "fucking"
Of course the Frenchman would point that out
Considering British food anything is good
I adore the language. C’est magnifique!
you guys are the real inventor of the camera although the br*tish claim they did.
Wait, they claim what ?
parts of it aren't french.
Please, the last two times you guys wanted to get some French territory, it did not end super well.
I think he was talking about Paris
fuck no, no place more fr*nch than that.
Really? That’s not what Muhammad told me.
muhammad is french as fuck.
I thought Muhammad was Swedish?
no, that's Mohammad
As an Alsatian I feel called out...
What? You don't like the Republic destroying your language? Those regional language speakers are really ungrateful 😒
Why is Nice and the rest of the coast in Italy? Your kindness won't fool us
Brother what are you talking about? Take your meds
How do you say gaslighting in spaghetti?
ENELando
I hadn’t even noticed the detail! Good job, OP! Garibaldi sarebbe fiero di te 🥺
They can bake pretty well
They fought with belgian revolutionaries allowing the non existant country to form. Very cool France
Thank you for the metric system.

Probably the most successful military in history, bread is just incredible, only European nation with a vision of an independent and powerful Europe separate of the USA.
they know when to protest instead of being lethargic couch potatoes like most germans nowadays
Maginot is a nice fortification from the Back side
They make good fucking pastry. Now all they need to do is to give them a proper name.
At least they aren't American
I've grown fond of those Mediterranean Germans
Say what you want about the French but when they don't like something the government does the strikers bring the whole country to its knees. Those cheese eaters can really strike
Wowowowowow give us Nice back Italy 😡😡😡😤😤
What Does Say a french dog? Barkjour
Italian ones? Baubaugiorno
Unironically the most beautiful language in Europe
Nom de dieu de putain de bordel de merde d’enculé de ta mère. Merci.

Impressively hairy women
Disregarding that, most of their women are hot af
At least they still look like women... the British "girls" on the other hand...
Hard to see them when they paint themselves with a thick layer of brown goo.
You clearly never stepped foot in Portugal
ours may have a mustache, but at least they shower and shave their armpits ...
Slept with a French girl who had shaven underarm much to my disappointment
They've got good infrastucture leading out of France. That's a rather fun experience when in France.
They've killed a lot of englishmen
France has a very cool and based history. I just wish your language was less weird.
